I agreed with jeff on Marisa. I was hoping she'd go farther because she wasn't as easily convinced by Russel as the rest of the girls were. Had her and Betsy been able to convince people not to trust Russel they probably might have gone farther. Kind of a shame a few of these people weren't able to go as far as Jeff had hoped.

Survivor is flawed. Everyone has to be manipulative at least once or twice for the duration of the game to win. You can't be Mr. Manipulative the whole game because everyone figures it out and then hates you. So then what happens is the people that align with you (who wouldn't have lasted a week w/o you) end up winning because of a bitter jury. Here's how you win: Find the most untrustworthy person, stick with them all the way, be nice to everyone else, and you'll get to the top 3. Stupid

I dont understand why Natalie didn't deserve to win the game. Just my opinion. She may have road Russell's coattails but she did so and Russell took all the blame. She partly orchestrated many moves and was necessary in propelling Russell as well but she looked good and Russell seemed deceptive. Jeff said it as well ... she used a legit srategy too get her in the finals.
Probst is a lot more than just the host-I'm sure they have a group of writers-but he is a Proffesor of the game itself, the guy has a total understanding of the game-most of the comments and observations proved true

Russell's social game was super good. It was just an evil social game. He outplayed everyone. Bitterness and envy don't count as socially acceptable...and that was the driving force in the Juries decision. I really hope the allstars have thicker skin this time and give him his due when he make final 3.

I heard Jeff said 149? I looked it up and and IQ of 149 puts you at 99.94th percentile. Which means only 0.06% of the population is as "smart or smarter". (Right, like IQ actually says anything...)
Not even 400 players have ever played Survivor. 0.06% of 400 is 0.24. Not even one.
If anyone ever tells you their IQ is >140 (~99.6th percentile, one in ~250 ppl), I'd be suspicious. Chances are, they are exaggerating/bullshitting/did-some-bs-online-test.
Jeff said Dave's IQ was 140. That's only the 99.6 percentile, or 1 in 261 people. It's not that rare that you wouldn't expect it in a field of 400.
You're right though that a lot of people overestimate their own IQ. Particularly with all the bogus internet tests out there, but also because people can't help showing off.
Hey I'll respond to you again because I find your comment interesting. I don't think Jeff was that far off on Mick as you do. In the final tribal council Eric said he had a "delusional entitlement", and it strikes you as odd at first, but I think it does get at something about Mick.
Mick is one of those people that gets everything they want in life, and so can't see a fault in themselves. He just thinks he's just a little bit better than he actually is.
I still think there's something wrong with an outcome that, in the end, comes down to a simple, lame popularity contest. The whole show is really fascinating until that last vote in the theatre when a bunch of people with chips on their shoulders get the chance to have their revenge on someone who outmanoeuvered them. Personally, I'd like to see the entire Survivor crew vote, not just the last few who are holding particular grudges from being most the recently voted off.
Question, Withtheclouds. How do know that YOUR assessment isn't just an opinion? How do you know that the Survivor crew has anymore validity than the players do? Hell, how is the crew relevent AT ALL? The winner by definition is the best player, and there are no objective parameters for determining the winner. All that is required is to be the last one standing.
Probst called it perfectly. When you win and poke ppl in the eyes, of course you won't win their vote in the end. Survivor is about beating ppl, but then in a way that they still respect you in the end. Russell H can't complain, he KNEW the game comes down to the jury vote.
Natalie totally deserved to win! This game has a lot of factors that go into it, and Russel played all those factors except for one... Social. The jury was full of people who hated him, and that was his own fault. He got to cocky in the end, and what's worse is that he realized he was cocky, but didn't change it. His Ego got the better of him towards the end, and that allowed Natalie to secure the juries votes. The motto is to outplay someone. Russell got to cocky and let his guard down.

There's no rule that the jury has to vote for the most manipulative double-dealer. Russell's big error was that he misplayed the social game, EXACTLY as Probst foretold on this video. He packed the jury with people who hated his guts. He proved to be his own worst enemy. Sure the jury were sore losers not to vote for him...but ironically Russell turned out to be the biggest sore loser of them all, by not admitting how badly he misjudged the whole jury scenario, and the people involved.
He reminds me of Rich the grand daddy of manipulators. He should have put more honey in his end game. Some winners have been the ones going under the radar that's also a feet to achieve. Russell had a big bullseye on his back Natalie didn't and that's also how you play the game. She rode him and outlasted him. (just like a woman ha ha ha)

It's a game not a personality contest. And Russell played the best game ever. Everybody else was just hanging out while he was doing something. You can win a game of poker by poisoning your rivals' drinks. It doesn't mean you're a good poker player. Even Survivor has a line between what's game and what's not, though the jury has to draw its finer path.

Jeff Probst's analysis was mostly accurate though its funny how he is highly suspicious of the male contestants. As competitive and entertaining Russel H. was in Survivor he forgot that it was ultimately a popularity contest. All those bitter fragile egos just couldnt vote for him at the final tribal council.
Yeah that's kinda the flaw in the game. If the vote had gone to the audience to choose the winner, it would be Russell by a landslide. Not just cause he was popular, but he played one of the best games in Survivor history
This was probably the most unexpected win in survivor history. It is a social game though and the jury couldn't get past all the manipulations Russell made. He did deserve to win though.
Let's see Jeff Probst can analyze everyone fairly well. Survivor is a social game, absolutely, and so is life. Most people don't use the empathy which builds solitary, which is express by people joining for social causes. Survivor is more similar to Animal Farm, George Orwell version of what to be aware of in life, everything Jesus warns us about, the evilness, people will play sniper, backstab, con artists, ect and sell their soul for a Million dollars. @estrango 2nd and fan favorite. Let's not forget that. I have always hated the idea of social means getting along with other people, make them feel good. Give hugs, do things together...come on. Russell's social game was super good. It was just an evil social game. He outplayed everyone. Bitterness and envy don't count as socially acceptable...and that was the driving force in the Juries decision. I really hope the allstars have thicker skin this time and give him his due when he make final 3.

To all Russell man-crushers: There's no such thing as deserve or lucky: It's what works and what doesn't. Nat played in such a way that it worked out for her: Stick with a massive tool, be the least threating to said tool, let him act like a tool and come off as the angel in comparison.
Next season, I doubt his antics are gonna work on hard-asses. He'll end up with tire marks all over him.

1) those playing to win will see him as jury fodder
2) those in the jury will throw him under the bus
Mind you, these guys are roaring alley cats and growling junkyard dogs. He pulls any funny stuff on them, they'll castrate him without question.

To ppl talking about Dave's IQ:
I heard Jeff said 149? I looked it up and and IQ of 149 puts you at 99.94th percentile. Which means only 0.06% of the population is as "smart or smarter". (Right, like IQ actually says anything...)
Not even 400 players have ever played Survivor. 0.06% of 400 is 0.24. Not even one.
If anyone ever tells you their IQ is >140 (~99.6th percentile, one in ~250 ppl), I'd be suspicious. Chances are, they are exaggerating/bullshitting/did-some-bs-online-test.

Jeff said Dave's IQ was 140. That's only the 99.6 percentile, or 1 in 261 people. It's not that rare that you wouldn't expect it in a field of 400.
You're right though that a lot of people overestimate their own IQ. Particularly with all the bogus internet tests out there, but also because people can't help showing off.

Hey I'll respond to you again because I find your comment interesting. I don't think Jeff was that far off on Mick as you do. In the final tribal council Eric said he had a "delusional entitlement", and it strikes you as odd at first, but I think it does get at something about Mick.
Mick is one of those people that gets everything they want in life, and so can't see a fault in themselves. He just thinks he's just a little bit better than he actually is.

I still think there's something wrong with an outcome that, in the end, comes down to a simple, lame popularity contest. The whole show is really fascinating until that last vote in the theatre when a bunch of people with chips on their shoulders get the chance to have their revenge on someone who outmanoeuvered them. Personally, I'd like to see the entire Survivor crew vote, not just the last few who are holding particular grudges from being most the recently voted off.

Question, Withtheclouds. How do know that YOUR assessment isn't just an opinion? How do you know that the Survivor crew has anymore validity than the players do? Hell, how is the crew relevent AT ALL? The winner by definition is the best player, and there are no objective parameters for determining the winner. All that is required is to be the last one standing.

Probst called it perfectly. When you win and poke ppl in the eyes, of course you won't win their vote in the end. Survivor is about beating ppl, but then in a way that they still respect you in the end. Russell H can't complain, he KNEW the game comes down to the jury vote.

Natalie totally deserved to win! This game has a lot of factors that go into it, and Russel played all those factors except for one... Social. The jury was full of people who hated him, and that was his own fault. He got to cocky in the end, and what's worse is that he realized he was cocky, but didn't change it. His Ego got the better of him towards the end, and that allowed Natalie to secure the juries votes. The motto is to outplay someone. Russell got to cocky and let his guard down.

There's no rule that the jury has to vote for the most manipulative double-dealer. Russell's big error was that he misplayed the social game, EXACTLY as Probst foretold on this video. He packed the jury with people who hated his guts. He proved to be his own worst enemy. Sure the jury were sore losers not to vote for him...but ironically Russell turned out to be the biggest sore loser of them all, by not admitting how badly he misjudged the whole jury scenario, and the people involved.

He reminds me of Rich the grand daddy of manipulators. He should have put more honey in his end game. Some winners have been the ones going under the radar that's also a feet to achieve. Russell had a big bullseye on his back Natalie didn't and that's also how you play the game. She rode him and outlasted him. (just like a woman ha ha ha)

It's a game not a personality contest. And Russell played the best game ever. Everybody else was just hanging out while he was doing something. No matter what but he WAS doing something the whole time. And he was the ONLY reason me and my whole family and a lot of my friends were watching this survivor. We moved to India and we would download survivor just to see what Russell was going to do next. Who wants to see Natalie, Mick or anybody else from this show in SURVIVOR20? Nobody

You can win a game of poker by poisoning your rivals' drinks. It doesn't mean you're a good poker player. Even Survivor has a line between what's game and what's not, though the jury has to draw its finer path.
IMHO Russell crossed that line by sabotaging other player's personal belongings. Otherwise he's a good player, but apparently not as good as Ratalie.

how on earth can you say Natalie deserved to win..? she was useless the entire game straight to the finish. Russell dominated the game, socially, and in the end..physically. The only reason he did not win is because the bitter jury refused to recognize he had dominated every one of them.

i choose one person to root for every season from the first episode. Of course i chose russell, and for the first time, my guy was sure to win! i gave him a 98% chance. Everyone else did too. that jury has to be the dumbest in history. we all won't remember Natalie's name 2 days from now.

Hands down. and yes, the jury just couldnt put aside the fact that russell yes manipulated, lied and all that bla bla non sense, but he did play the best game out of EVERYONE one, was always focused, on the ball, and never let the public down (well.. only when told mick he made 1.7 million last year.. eurgh russ..) but he played the best game (personnaly) in survivor History! he deserved to win and i hope to see him in Survivor 20 (as a VILLAIN of course :D:D:D)

Jeff Probst's analysis was mostly accurate though its funny how he is highly suspicious of the male contestants. As competitive and entertaining Russel H. was in Survivor he forgot that it was ultimately a popularity contest. All those bitter fragile egos just couldnt vote for him at the final tribal council.

Yeah that's kinda the flaw in the game. If the vote had gone to the audience to choose the winner, it would be Russell by a landslide. Not just cause he was popular, but he played one of the best games in Survivor history

Let's see Jeff Probst can analyze everyone fairly well. Survivor is a social game, absolutely, and so is life. Most people don't use the empathy which builds solitary, which is express by people joining for social causes. Survivor is more similar to Animal Farm, George Orwell version of what to be aware of in life, everything Jesus warns us about, the evilness, people will play sniper, backstab, con artists, ect and sell their soul for a Million dollars. It's designed by the illuminati.

russell deserved to win the game is outwit- he did that he convinced almost everyone to trust him and work for him. outplay- he beasted the crap out of everyone he found every idol without any clues thats a true survivor and outlast- he was in the finals because of him and only him he could have worked if anyone was on that game. people on the jury make it way to ethical the criteria for the million dollars is did they play the game?
