At first I didn't think this album sounded that much like a comeback, because I got into Megadeth quite late, but after listening some SFSGSW!, it does share a most similar sound. Not exactly the same, which is a good thing, but close enough.

@ImKevin15 I so disagree. These songs are far more complex then the songs on SFSGSW. At that point in time Dave was smashed on drugs as wasn't really thinking clearly. SFSGSW has its moments, don't get me wrong, but the album as a whole isn't as consistent as TSHF.

That is why I listed the songs I liked. To tell you the truth, I have not been wild about any Megadeth or Metallica album since Countdown/Black album respectively. I don't think these albums are horrible but they require a different expectation. People didn't like Ride the Lightning because the expected Kill Em All part 2, the Loads and Lulu are more extreme but it is the same idea. Don't expect the same when its different, take it for what it is. I liked DM BTW.

No, Ride is obviously a classic beloved by all, but back in the day hardcore fans were uncomfortable with the use of acoustic guitars and the slower tempos on Ride. They were expecting Kill em All part 2 and got something quite different. People are the same today with what they expect of Metallica's musical choices. If you expect Lulu to be a typical album you won't like it, but on its own its pretty cool. I lived the classic sound and don't want a part 2 remake...

And they hitted rock bottom when they suited Napster (they became a parody of themselves... 4 excellent musicians with a lot going on turned into 4 greasy pigs hungry for easy money). Just remember (coming from an old Metallica fan) "fans" thought Ride the Lightning was crap because they expanded their compositions and used acoustic guitars = haters will hate because they are told too, use your own mind.
