I'm reading 'Last Train to Memphis" (again!) and had to hear me some classic Elvis. --thanks for the nice post, the picture goes perfect with the song.
it's the kind of spot i would sit on my own and have a chat with my dead dad.........looking up at the 7 starred plough enjoying thoughts of the good days when we where together......and he was fit and well.........ps......after a couple of whiskeys down him he did an excellent wooden heart by elvis......... happy memories keep us sane in this crazy world..........good health to you all .....mrste
It saddens me that Chris Isaak's version has more views than the King's. Although I adore Isaak's version as well, the King in my opinion does a finer cover. R.I.P. my brother...
The first time I ever heard Elvis' rendition of this song was when I watched "Mystery Train," with Steve Buscemi, Joe Strummer, and "Screaming Jay" Hawkins. Love this version of the song and love the movie.
even been a long time when i meet my first girlfriend who gave me smile in the first place .. still in my mind and in my heart even i dont like to think but she is the one who do some romantic moment :( hope you had a good day darling....
OMG i am only 28 but i wish i was 21 back when he as performing just so i could see him in person. His voice is so amazeing when he sings this song because not all singers have the range that his voice has............. and just the way he sings makes you weak in your knees even if you r sitting down......... This is my favert song......... I would have love to seen him perform.......... My friends tell me all the time i was born in the wrong era........... Half-Pint........
ROB54489 sorry my phone sent that message prematurely. But I was gonna say yeah me too. The scene in the movie where Ponyboy and Johnny are talking in the lot...man, the first time I saw it, I got goosebumps from that scene and this song. Definitely the best version of the song, by far.
Ive been listening to elvis since i was 10 it has been 3 years now and i still enjoy listening to his music and now to others of his time such as bing crosby, bob crosby, Frank sinatra, and dean martin!
this is the best version of the song....gets the mood of the lyrics perfectly...sinatras is good but lacks the depth and darkness... i listen to this version then sinatras and you can go from sad and longing for someone to happy and having soemone in two songs! thanks for this post!!
this is the defining version. It still gives me goose bumps. The KING lives forever! One of the only songs (if not THE only one where he sang falsetto).
I just heard this song in the movie Mystery Train. A classic unforgettable song. I am a new Elvis fan . I really appreciate his talent. He has a beautiful voice.
Excellent song from the king and one of his BEST!!!!!!!!He will always be with us in his music.......we miss you Elvis!!!!!!I will be seeing you soon my friend......R I P!!!!!!
IT'S NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHY WOMEN LOVED ELVIS, HE'S LITERALLY TALKING TO YOU WHEN HE SINGS THOSE BALLAD SONGS......
