"There is much evidence for Christ for those with open minds and open hearts." There is actually no credible, *verifiable* evidence for the resurrection of christ. There is just as much evidence for the veracity of the Quran (for eg.) for those who are open minded and open hearted to it. Same goes for the persian gods, greek gods, sumerian gods, egyptian gods. The abrahamic religions do not have a monopoly on the term "God". That concept was around way before them.
May I ask whether you think the Sumerian religion is true? The Greek gods? the egyptian gods? the persian gods? I am guessing that your statement will be: "no, I don't believe that any of those religions are true"
Well, in the Judeo-Christian world, people known as "atheists" simply reject the Abrahamic God story, as well as all of those other ones.
I think we have a misunderstanding about definitions. Christianity/Judaism/Islam do not have a monopoly on the concept of "God". There can be a higher consciousness completely outside of the constraints of the Abrahamic stories.
Atheists simply view Yahweh and Allah as *characters* in very poorly written stories called the Torah, Bible, and Quran.
Atheists don't claim to know that there is no higher power at all - just that the God characters humanity has come up with are all man-made.
@FoxxyEmz Yes I've been dead for 13 billion years. Didn't feel a thing. No, but seriously I don't claim I know there's no afterlife. But I have a gut feeling it doesn't exist.
@FoxxyEmz Yes it naggs me that there are people who actually believe this nonsense. You probably think atheists don't care about anything and we just think it's all matter and nothing matters in the world, but believe it or not I'm concerned about the well-being of humanity and my fellow humans and it hurts to see them in such a delusional state.
@FoxxyEmz Well, atheists argue against Christianity for somewhat of the same reasons Christians preach Christianity. Both are trying to "save" people. Many atheists see religion as ultimately harmful. When was the last time you saw something aweful committed FOR religion. I know I see horrors committed frequently in the name of religion all the time on the news. When was the LAST time you saw something terrible happen in the name of Atheism?
@FoxxyEmz Continuing my previous post above, we can only hope they DO get caught. Nor are we helpless towards this. We can do our part in society to help those who deserve justice GET IT.
@FoxxyEmz Well... first off.... claiming atheist hands are just as bloody if not more so is f*in ridiculous. Lets say Hitler was atheist and Stalin and Lenin are. They killed a staggering amount of people. BUT that number falls amazingly short of lives lost over conflicts of religion. I'll send you a link to give you some idea (youtube won't let me post it)
Also...being athiest is not the same as killing FOR athiesm. Stalin and Lenin killed because they wanted power... not to spread "the word"
@FoxxyEmz Well... first off.... claiming atheist hands are just as bloody if not more so is f*in ridiculous. Lets say Hitler was atheist and Stalin and Lenin are. @FoxxyEmz What the hell are you talking about. I believe in consequences... if I shoot some do I not go to jail? If I hit someone when I'm driving drunk, do I not suffer crippling guilt for the rest of my life? And I most certainly do NOT live for today. Going to college, working my *** off, so that I can have a successful future and raise a family is not "living for today."
As for bad guys who don't get caught... well they don't get caught. Sucks, but it's that simple.
@FoxxyEmz Ofcourse we don't want the bible to be true (it's not). I don't want to be a puppet of a psychotic masochistic childish god and glorify him for the rest of the eternity when he can't even make the world a nice place. Why would anyone want to be a slave of such a being? Hey, God throughout both testaments killed over 2 million people, Satan killed 7 and most of them were killed by gods request. Plus satan represents freewill and not slavery. If they existed (they dont), i'd choose satan
@FoxxyEmz C'mon man. That is a painfully ignorant statement, and an example of why Atheists tend to really dislike Christians. Claiming that Atheists believe there are no consequences and live for "today" is really insulting. I could argue why this is such a terrible thing to say and why it's horrible Christians so frequently use this to bash the other side.
BUT I think it's more prudent for me to say, do some research. Give the other side a fare assessment before taking place in such debates.
@FoxxyEmz Congrats. You just wrote yourself off as a credible in my book. There are certain things that Christians repeat in the atheist/religious debate that just aren't true... but they heard if from someone else and took at as true without looking into it themselves.... and thus continue to spread lies. Hitler was religious or at least used religion frequently as a tool (who knows how he honestly felt about god). Several speeches revolve around his dislike of atheism.
I am spiritual in that I believe that there *could* be a higher reality/higher consciousness. Maybe something like pantheism, or "the all". However, there is no interfering, personal god. I am heavily against organised monotheistic religion (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc.) and see it as a means of controlling people's minds. I am subjectively 100% sure that the entire bible is manmade fiction. God didn't make man, man made God.
@mcpencil I respect your beliefs because it is your free choice, but it's so sad really, what will happen to you when you die, who helps you in time of need, who gives you wisdom beyond human comprehension, who gives a purpuse to your life. We were created by Him, He loves us and offers a way back to Him through His Son Jesus. He knows you, He wants the best for you. Look at the evidence, Isreal, the wonders of science, life, it's all to delicate to be true really, wake up, seek Him please
@mcpencil Science doesn't offer me answers any longer, they can't give me even the most basic things. there are to many wonders all arround us. Is there any scientific subject of your particular interest? There are hundreds of subjects that expose the truth, and if you like I would like to exchange thoughts, maybe we can mail? 1Co:1:21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Science has given you medicine, technology, and a stable society. Without science, you would literally be dead right now.
The bible has absolutely NO scientific knowledge in it. If you claim that it does, then you would also have to accept the counterclaim that the Quran has an equal if not greater claim to scientific knowledge. By your logic, both books are godly, when in reality, neither are.
No, I came up with it quite independently because it is very valid! It's not a dodge, and the very fact that you refuse to answer it just demonstrates how f*cking stupid your question was in the first place. You're basically attempting a Pascal's wager, which automatically = fail.
By the way, richard dawkins is not a charlatan. He knows what he's talking about and he is smarter than both of us :)
I didn't refuse to answer your question, I just posed an equivalent question that you wouldn't want to answer, in order to demonstrate how inane your question was. The answer to your question of, "what if you're wrong?" is: I am 100% sure that I'm right. In my opinion. I put more authority on my well thought out opinions, than anonymous hearsay about hearsay about the nature of god, fabricated thousands of years ago by primitive people.
@mcpencil So you are 100% sure that the bible is fictional, huh? Gosh, you must know the bible pretty well because if there's even one fact in the bible then that proves you are wrong. So tell us, was there ever a Caesar Augustus that ruled the Roman world? Go read Luke 2.....Did you read it? Care to revise your percentage?
You're not very smart are you? I said I am 100% sure that the bible is fictional, not that the bible is 100% fictional. Of course it contains some historical facts like people and locations. That does not lend ANY credibility to the supernatural claims made within it. In fact, the bible is pretty much a marketing document, and it would be pretty silly if it did not include places and names in order to give it an air of credibility.
Now your turn. What if youre wrong about the whole "christianity" thing, and the actual god you should be praying to is allah? or what if joseph smith's story was true? Could you be wrong?
@mcpencil Could I be wrong? I doubt I am, but then you know next to nothing about what I do believe, right? Or are you like most atheists (including Richard Dawkins) who always seem to know the exact nature of the believes of someone who questions them. BTW, it's just one of the many reasons why Dawkins his a liar and a charlatan. Or maybe Snakeoil Salesman is more appropriate for his particular form of balderdash.
It's ironic that you call darwin a snake oil salesman, when religion is the very definition of snake oil. Ok, so you answered my question about "what if the quran is true and not the bible" by saying you doubt that you are wrong. So you still think you *could be* wrong.. at least you're honest.
See the one thing that turns me off from religion is how it's so obviously what we want to hear. There are two very consistent and two very natural traits of human kind, a fear of death, and a need for answers. Religion offers a very clean solution to both. All you have to do is believe no matter what. Of course people are going to flock to religion... right or wrong. It's what people want to hear.
@Captbigbeard Dear Captain Bigbeard, I am sorry but I disagree with you completely. Offcourse religion offers things you want to hear, because it's so wonderful to know there is a Father in Heaven and His Son giving His life for us and wants us back, we don't deserve it, it's a free gift, the gift of salvation and the gift of eternal life. But it's not exactly a walk in the park, look at all the condemnation, the hardship, having to lay down your own life, obeying Him, it;s not easy
@MrTruth111 but we know in the end it's all for the best. The gift of the Holy Spirit and knowing it's true to be born again is the most wonderful thing ever happening to me.
@MrTruth111 We don't deserve it... if he's all knowing and all powerful he created us the way we are and knew how we would turn out. He created us to not be deserving? He's like a freaking father to the human race and we have to EARN not being tortured for all eternity? That isn't a spanking... that is literally hell. I don't want a dad whose ass I have to kiss and dedicate my life too... else I would go to hell.
@Dennissays No his analogy is spot on. Look, Dawkins is a very intelligent guy, his problem is with the perception he gives off. He doesn't come across as someone who is debating his side. He comes across as someone who hates the very thought of God. To someone who isn't an atheist he is tough to stomach. You atheists worship HIM like a God. To someone who is a theist or one who is unsure he comes across as an angry asshole. Not all atheists have that. But him and Hitchens both do.
@SuperGuitarman69 Why because he has an accent? HAHA! And how would you expect him to act after he's debated with people with the mindset of Wendy Wright!? You'd probably be a dick too!
Wow, very well said. Unbelievable. He nails the God Delusion. Stuff we all know as Christians and agnostics. However, Dawkins continues to be the hero of atheists globally. It is not rooted in truth. It is only rooted in hatred of theists. This is why the atheists movement gets nowhere. People instinctively see this and dismiss the entire tenet of atheism. I think that atheism needs to be dug out and exposed for the simpleness of it. That it in fact is a hatred of God. Not disbelief.
@SuperGuitarman69 I cannot hate a thing that dosen't exists. You're no different then people that say atheists are followers of satans. No we're not, cause we dont belive he exists because there is no logical nor factual proof of either the existence of satan nor god.
@JetStorm17277 actually they do not. lies are not recommended here. There are nohistorical documents, births, events or anything involving jesus christ ONLY that there is a history of the belief in him. Egyptian history all the way to islamic history etc NONE of them have any hint or sign of jesus ever existin. THERE ARE NO HISTORICAL RECORDINGS YOU DUMBASS!
@Xarai You know that is not true. All scientists who seriously look in to the life of Jesus come to the conclusion He existed. But you are right on one point, His tomb WAS empty, that is awesome, Mohammeds bones were found, Boeddha's bones were found,. Because He was raised from death to glory to be able to buy us back His bones were never found. There were many witnesses and seperate reports from people who had seen Him after he died. He suffered for us, for our sins, because He loves us.
@SuperGuitarman69 Very true, I agree with you. That was his major plan: to trick Adam and Eve to open their eyes to the carnal, then gradually fool them into thinking that God isn't real because they don't see or hear God right away 'cause of man's punishment for disobeying God, now that if we want to see or hear him, we have to do our part and believe in him! :)
"now that if we want to see or hear him, we have to do our part and believe in him! "
That makes no sense. he may as well not exist. you're pretty much saying, in order to believe in god, and to "see" him, you already have to believe in him! circular logic... and another reason why the whole concept is fictional. If it wasn't fictional, it wouldn't need such magical leaps of logic.
@SuperGuitarman69 Well then god aint allmighty is he then? And how come satan only pulls this off against children that aren't exposed by religion from young age.
@SuperGuitarman69 Yeah 'cause your disagreement with my arguments without actually answering them is a true fact for the existence of god, good job there bro. *Facepalm*
@WallieTF FacePalm? Oh my lol. I love that kind of stuff. It's priceless. Youtube fodder like that is what makes it worth reading rebuttals. Someone says something negative about the other person (red herring) then all of a sudden the other person in the debate should be discarded. It works a lot of the time with atheists tho. They drop the cretard or Spaghetti Monster line and move on. Or the proverbial Epic Fail line. All BS and no merit.
@WallieTF NDE's millions of them. Your's? Do you have one? To prove God does not exist? Do NOT use Unicorns, Santa Clause, Leprechauns or the proverbial Spaghetti Monster argument. As soon as you do? Not only do you look foolish, you lose!
@SuperGuitarman69 I can disproive a theistic god because the attirubutes he's defined after the Qur'an and the bible is not correct, the world is not only 6-12k years old, he hasen't appeared to me, i haven't felt him, i havent heard him etc etc.
And the santa clause, Leprechauns arguement works perfectly since there is as much evidence that they exist as the Islamic god.
@WallieTF No there is nothing to argue. The Santa Clause, unicorn , leprechaun bait is an old Dawkins thing. It is the most meaningless of all arguments. Unless you can post one post that proves atheism is correct then no need to argue. I gave you my side in which you returned with leprechauns etc.... Immediately my eyes glazed over and I was done with you
That would be the 2nd best trick. Recruiting an army of angels to overthrow the Kingdom of God in a coup d'état certainly took some mental gymnastics.
@WallieTF But why is it that Atheists hate the fact that Christians say God is real? What is there for you atheists to benefit from trying to disprove Christians, hating the fact that we believe in an all-powerful God, yet you say you cannot hate something you believe not to exist... That right there's proof of God's existence 'cause if he wasn't real, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
@JetStorm17277 First off, Atheists don't hate god. They hate the belief in a god and the concept of god. A person can hate the concept of Santa... that doesn't prove his existence.
The reason they hate the belief in god, is because religion does do allot of harm in this world. They see wars being fought over "god" and science being held back by "god"... they don't believe in a god the same way you DO believe in a god, so they see religion as barbaric and detrimental.
The United States of American was founded on the belief of well...God! "One nation, under God" Sound familiar? I respect agnostic's over atheist's any day because well atheist's are basically just haters. agnostic's don't have or what they say is lack there of proof so they decide to just back away from the fight. As a Christian myself, when there is people who doubt in God, all I gotta say is pray ONE TIME. An tell me that God didn't give you an answer. Good day everyone.
@JustYourShadow "was found on the belief of God" makes no sense. We didn't found America on the "belief of God," we founded it on the belief that we were being taxed without out representation in parliament. The only reason we put "under god" in the pledge is because a man named Louis A. Bowman said we should put it in there, in 1948. Im know social scientist, however i do believe our country was founded before then. In conclusion i would like to reference your last statement.
@JustYourShadow You instantly fail by claiming america was founded on the belief of god. Most of the founders were agnostics/deists or even atheists. Use facts and not assumption.
@JetStorm17277 I'm gonna have to say "fuck you" for that one. I was at the tender age of 5! How was I to pray in vain? And more importantly, how would YOU know?! Don't tell me why I didn't have an answer from "God", it's because he doesn't exist that I got no response back. And given my near life long journey to find him through prayer and not getting one response back, it's only logical I don't believe in him.
@Dennissays It's because you are not listening. Do you actually think, us in a 10 dimensional universe that we know exists in a 3 dimensional universe that we can only relate to will actually hear a voice from the sky? I for one believes God works through others. He puts people in your life either knowingly or unknowingly to help. There are doctors to heal, herbs to care for the sick. In church those in need get help all the time through others in the church. NDE's theist or atheist alike P1
@Dennissays kind of ends the debate of whether there is a Heaven or Hell for certain. There is a great 30 part series on youtube on that very subject.
@JustYourShadow You understand this is a horrible argument correct? They didn't add "under God" until the 40's to the Pledge. I'm a believer, but educate yourself.
@JustYourShadow Actually this nation was founded not by Christians but by theists, agnostics & atheists. The actual motto, E Pluribus Unum which means 'Out of many, one.', is very secular as this nation was built without favour to any religious cult. But a non-secular Eisenhower in 1957 decided to approve God thing on paper so from there it took off. As well as the "One nation under God" part of the Pledge, that was added into the original in 1954 by Eisenhower. Know your facts.
@jordonisawesome We are one nation under God. Christians forged this country. Know YOUR facts. You are correct that we are a nation of Liberty, no doubt. But funny how all of you atheists always tend to be Progressive Democrats not conservatives or libertarians. Conservatives and Libertarians who protect your freedom to be whatever you want to be. It is the biggest Hypocritical thing I've ever seen.
6:09 onward is totally true...I had a very hard time finishing Dawkins' book for that very reason, and Keith Ward summed it up and worded it better than I ever could. Good video, and thank you for introducing me to Mr. Ward. I'll have to look up more about him. *thumbs up*
Let's see, he finds materialistic philosophy to be shallow so he's converting to Christianity because it's more interesting, not because it's true. What happens when he gets bored with that?
@Chuck1863 He didn't say he got bored with materialism, he said he found it to be insufficient philosophically and found theism to be far stronger - ie, true or 'truer' if you wish to keep things open. So he has refined his view.
wonderful video. Gives me hope for a world that is consistently in moral decline. Everything this man says about new atheism is so true. They end up being everything they hate about religion.
@MrPaulwalrus Like what? What does atheist "end up being" exactly? Do you think being sceptical and being able to think criticaly about reality is a bad thing? If so, in what way?
It is no coincidence that Doggins felt the need to include the word "Delusion" as one of the three words in the title of his silly screed -- that's really all it is.
I am an atheist, but Professor Ward makes some excellent points. I agree the "new atheists" are embarrassing.

@knicklas48
You're not very smart are you? I said I am 100% sure that the bible is fictional, not that the bible is 100% fictional. Of course it contains some historical facts like people and locations. That does not lend ANY credibility to the supernatural claims made within it. In fact, the bible is pretty much a marketing document, and it would be pretty silly if it did not include places and names in order to give it an air of credibility.
mcpencil 1 year ago
@knicklas48
Now your turn. What if youre wrong about the whole "christianity" thing, and the actual god you should be praying to is allah? or what if joseph smith's story was true? Could you be wrong?
mcpencil 1 year ago
@mcpencil Could I be wrong? I doubt I am, but then you know next to nothing about what I do believe, right? Or are you like most atheists (including Richard Dawkins) who always seem to know the exact nature of the believes of someone who questions them. BTW, it's just one of the many reasons why Dawkins his a liar and a charlatan. Or maybe Snakeoil Salesman is more appropriate for his particular form of balderdash.
knicklas48 1 year ago
@knicklas48
It's ironic that you call darwin a snake oil salesman, when religion is the very definition of snake oil. Ok, so you answered my question about "what if the quran is true and not the bible" by saying you doubt that you are wrong. So you still think you *could be* wrong.. at least you're honest.
mcpencil 1 year ago
See the one thing that turns me off from religion is how it's so obviously what we want to hear. There are two very consistent and two very natural traits of human kind, a fear of death, and a need for answers. Religion offers a very clean solution to both. All you have to do is believe no matter what. Of course people are going to flock to religion... right or wrong. It's what people want to hear.
Captbigbeard 1 year ago
@Captbigbeard Dear Captain Bigbeard, I am sorry but I disagree with you completely. Offcourse religion offers things you want to hear, because it's so wonderful to know there is a Father in Heaven and His Son giving His life for us and wants us back, we don't deserve it, it's a free gift, the gift of salvation and the gift of eternal life. But it's not exactly a walk in the park, look at all the condemnation, the hardship, having to lay down your own life, obeying Him, it;s not easy
MrTruth111 1 year ago
@MrTruth111 but we know in the end it's all for the best. The gift of the Holy Spirit and knowing it's true to be born again is the most wonderful thing ever happening to me.
MrTruth111 1 year ago
@MrTruth111 We don't deserve it... if he's all knowing and all powerful he created us the way we are and knew how we would turn out. He created us to not be deserving? He's like a freaking father to the human race and we have to EARN not being tortured for all eternity? That isn't a spanking... that is literally hell. I don't want a dad whose ass I have to kiss and dedicate my life too... else I would go to hell.

@SuperGuitarman69 How can I take someone serious who is talking absolute nonsense about a phenomenal book?
Dennissays 1 year ago
@Dennissays No his analogy is spot on. Look, Dawkins is a very intelligent guy, his problem is with the perception he gives off. He doesn't come across as someone who is debating his side. He comes across as someone who hates the very thought of God. To someone who isn't an atheist he is tough to stomach. You atheists worship HIM like a God. To someone who is a theist or one who is unsure he comes across as an angry asshole. Not all atheists have that. But him and Hitchens both do.
SuperGuitarman69 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 Why because he has an accent? HAHA! And how would you expect him to act after he's debated with people with the mindset of Wendy Wright!? You'd probably be a dick too!

Calling materialism "shallow" is the most shallow assessment of materialism that I have ever heard.
BIJMOZ 1 year ago
Wow, very well said. Unbelievable. He nails the God Delusion. Stuff we all know as Christians and agnostics. However, Dawkins continues to be the hero of atheists globally. It is not rooted in truth. It is only rooted in hatred of theists. This is why the atheists movement gets nowhere. People instinctively see this and dismiss the entire tenet of atheism. I think that atheism needs to be dug out and exposed for the simpleness of it. That it in fact is a hatred of God. Not disbelief.
SuperGuitarman69 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 Wow, I can't possibly agree with you more. "That it in fact is a hatred of God. Not disbelief". Perfectly put!!
neen1988 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 I cannot hate a thing that dosen't exists. You're no different then people that say atheists are followers of satans. No we're not, cause we dont belive he exists because there is no logical nor factual proof of either the existence of satan nor god.

@SuperGuitarman69 and the best con ever made was by jesus (even tho historically there is literally 0% proof jesus existed)
Xarai 1 year ago
@Xarai Actually, scientists DO AGREE that there was a Jesus who did exist here 2,000,000 years ago.
JetStorm17277 1 year ago
@JetStorm17277 actually they do not. lies are not recommended here. There are nohistorical documents, births, events or anything involving jesus christ ONLY that there is a history of the belief in him. Egyptian history all the way to islamic history etc NONE of them have any hint or sign of jesus ever existin. THERE ARE NO HISTORICAL RECORDINGS YOU DUMBASS!
Xarai 1 year ago
@Xarai You know that is not true. All scientists who seriously look in to the life of Jesus come to the conclusion He existed. But you are right on one point, His tomb WAS empty, that is awesome, Mohammeds bones were found, Boeddha's bones were found,. Because He was raised from death to glory to be able to buy us back His bones were never found. There were many witnesses and seperate reports from people who had seen Him after he died. He suffered for us, for our sins, because He loves us.
MrTruth111 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 Very true, I agree with you. That was his major plan: to trick Adam and Eve to open their eyes to the carnal, then gradually fool them into thinking that God isn't real because they don't see or hear God right away 'cause of man's punishment for disobeying God, now that if we want to see or hear him, we have to do our part and believe in him! :)
JetStorm17277 1 year ago
@JetStorm17277

@SuperGuitarman69 Yeah 'cause your disagreement with my arguments without actually answering them is a true fact for the existence of god, good job there bro. *Facepalm*
WallieTF 1 year ago
@WallieTF FacePalm? Oh my lol. I love that kind of stuff. It's priceless. Youtube fodder like that is what makes it worth reading rebuttals. Someone says something negative about the other person (red herring) then all of a sudden the other person in the debate should be discarded. It works a lot of the time with atheists tho. They drop the cretard or Spaghetti Monster line and move on. Or the proverbial Epic Fail line. All BS and no merit.
SuperGuitarman69 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 And still you haven't laid up an arguement you hypocrite..... The irony burns so hard.
WallieTF 1 year ago
@WallieTF NDE's millions of them. Your's? Do you have one? To prove God does not exist? Do NOT use Unicorns, Santa Clause, Leprechauns or the proverbial Spaghetti Monster argument. As soon as you do? Not only do you look foolish, you lose!
SuperGuitarman69 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 I can disproive a theistic god because the attirubutes he's defined after the Qur'an and the bible is not correct, the world is not only 6-12k years old, he hasen't appeared to me, i haven't felt him, i havent heard him etc etc.
And the santa clause, Leprechauns arguement works perfectly since there is as much evidence that they exist as the Islamic god.
WallieTF 1 year ago
@WallieTF You lost and looked foolish.
SuperGuitarman69 1 year ago
@SuperGuitarman69 This conversation is over since you're not argumenting only making Ad Homunums.
You lost since you stopped arguementing, good bye good sir.
WallieTF 1 year ago
@WallieTF No there is nothing to argue. The Santa Clause, unicorn , leprechaun bait is an old Dawkins thing. It is the most meaningless of all arguments. Unless you can post one post that proves atheism is correct then no need to argue. I gave you my side in which you returned with leprechauns etc.... Immediately my eyes glazed over and I was done with you
SuperGuitarman69 1 year ago
That would be the 2nd best trick. Recruiting an army of angels to overthrow the Kingdom of God in a coup d'état certainly took some mental gymnastics.
Uluwatusunrise 6 months ago
@WallieTF But why is it that Atheists hate the fact that Christians say God is real? What is there for you atheists to benefit from trying to disprove Christians, hating the fact that we believe in an all-powerful God, yet you say you cannot hate something you believe not to exist... That right there's proof of God's existence 'cause if he wasn't real, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
JetStorm17277 1 year ago

JustYourShadow 1 year ago
@JustYourShadow "was found on the belief of God" makes no sense. We didn't found America on the "belief of God," we founded it on the belief that we were being taxed without out representation in parliament. The only reason we put "under god" in the pledge is because a man named Louis A. Bowman said we should put it in there, in 1948. Im know social scientist, however i do believe our country was founded before then. In conclusion i would like to reference your last statement.

@JustYourShadow HA! I've prayed from ages 5 til 23. Didn't get any response.
Dennissays 1 year ago
@Dennissays You didn't get any response because you were praying in vain.
God will only answer to those who pray from the heart.
JetStorm17277 1 year ago
@JetStorm17277 I'm gonna have to say "fuck you" for that one. I was at the tender age of 5! How was I to pray in vain? And more importantly, how would YOU know?! Don't tell me why I didn't have an answer from "God", it's because he doesn't exist that I got no response back. And given my near life long journey to find him through prayer and not getting one response back, it's only logical I don't believe in him.
Dennissays 1 year ago
@Dennissays It's because you are not listening. Do you actually think, us in a 10 dimensional universe that we know exists in a 3 dimensional universe that we can only relate to will actually hear a voice from the sky? I for one believes God works through others. He puts people in your life either knowingly or unknowingly to help. There are doctors to heal, herbs to care for the sick. In church those in need get help all the time through others in the church. NDE's theist or atheist alike P1

@JustYourShadow You understand this is a horrible argument correct? They didn't add "under God" until the 40's to the Pledge. I'm a believer, but educate yourself.
halfie25 1 year ago
@JustYourShadow Actually this nation was founded not by Christians but by theists, agnostics & atheists. The actual motto, E Pluribus Unum which means 'Out of many, one.', is very secular as this nation was built without favour to any religious cult. But a non-secular Eisenhower in 1957 decided to approve God thing on paper so from there it took off. As well as the "One nation under God" part of the Pledge, that was added into the original in 1954 by Eisenhower. Know your facts.
jordonisawesome 1 year ago
@jordonisawesome We are one nation under God. Christians forged this country. Know YOUR facts. You are correct that we are a nation of Liberty, no doubt. But funny how all of you atheists always tend to be Progressive Democrats not conservatives or libertarians. Conservatives and Libertarians who protect your freedom to be whatever you want to be. It is the biggest Hypocritical thing I've ever seen.

@Chuck1863 He didn't say he got bored with materialism, he said he found it to be insufficient philosophically and found theism to be far stronger - ie, true or 'truer' if you wish to keep things open. So he has refined his view.
