  • Thanks! Sonny The Bluesman doing real thing here.

  • @Timopartanen2 Thank you for watching^^! Absolutely right! Stitt influenced a lot from Bird, but his blues feel is much modern than Bird! I love his blues play very much.

    Many many thanks♪♪

  • Sonny plays the Blues like NO other!

  • @taildragger53 Thank you for watching^^♪♪ You are right! His ad lib phrases are very modern and without uselessness is the Great.

    Many many thanks!

  • no it's not bird and sounds NOTHING like bird! Sonny Stitt was an original! great post!

  • @mambojazz1 Thank you for watching^^♪ Right! actually Stitt established his own style from not only Bird.Bird got many kinds of idioms and phrases from John Jackson when he was belonging to Jay McShann's band. Both alto giant's are forever!

    Many many thanks.

  • I think i prefer him on alto sax as opposed to tenor. Yeah i felt like his tone was a cross between Cannonball and Parker, however theres something about Stitt that stands out. His phrasing truely sounds beautiful and different from parker in my opinion.

  • @ICEMAN6282 Thank you for watching^^♪ yes. I feel Stitt’s alto is too good than tenor. his alto sound and ad-lib phrases are completely different from Parker. Parker's sound is much more sharp, and Parker had many more ad-lib phrases than Stitt(this is my own opinion). as for either, I love Stitt and Parker♪♪

    Many many thanks.

  • I would have guessed Charlie Parker. Sonds great and thanks for posting man..!

    Awesome ...!

  • @ThomasC1222 Thank you for watching (^^♪ Yes! almost jazz fan's are guessed Parker. Basically skill of Stitt's alto sax is almost same as Parker. But the sound of Parker is fat rather than Stitt, and much more emotional.but both are really professional!!

    Many many thanks

  • Beautiful. Thanks

  • @ICEMAN6282 Thank you for watching^^♪♪ His alto playing is almost like Charlie Parker. When Parker lives,Stitt did not play alto sax. After Parker passed away he started play alto sax! Really nice tune.

    Many many thanks.
