My old man had red one. 202 trimatic. Absolutely gutless POS. Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and it accelerated like a fucking iceberg. Also if you tried to tow anything like a caravan on level ground with it it would boil water better than a gaggia expresso machine, which limited it to 80 kph. You ever driven from VIC to QLD up the Newell Highway at 80kph in a HX Kingswood with no A/C in summer? I hate these things. They were torture boxes on wheels.
give me your email address or let me know how to send pics and ill send some, mines a bit rough at the moment as im restoring it but its all together (been off road for 10 years). It would have to be one of the best cars ive owned and my first car couldnt get rid of it. look for a model number HX8WN69 that means its a 50th anniversary.
I have one just like it, exactly the same except mine came with factory air-con and intermitant wipers. the brake light on the dash needs to be reset by removing the switch in the brake balance valve and pushing the plunger back in, or the brakes are leaking on one or the other circuit.
@TheFroggy666 can i see some pics of it, especially of the badge on the back section of the car please :-)
I'll try and reset the brakes as you told me, It's going in for a total respray soon. I highly doubt their are any more cars like this (50th Ann) on the road.
@prebly It is the warning switch for the handbrake. If you handbrake doesn't actually work (you will see the cable underneath the car for it under the lever) that red light is lying. The switch for that light is under the handbrake shroud trim. Remove the trim, and you will find a contact switch with a yellow wire. That is the hanbrake warning light switch
if you keep the elements away from em so they dont rust out and they will run forever..
keep this one original mate, will be worth a fortune in a few years, im close to getting my HZ back on the road myself

I also love the sun visor over the windshield. Every car should have that.

I love how they hide the petrol tank. Just behind the number plate.

nice car mate, but whats with the "park" light on the dash? what does it mean and why is it staying on?
