People who keep rabbits in hutches and use them as toys for 'shows' should not be allowed to keep rabbits. Or any animal for that matter. Clean and well fed they may be, but healthy they are not. Mental health affects rabbits and to live in a hutch must drive them insane. House rabbits live a happy life and houses are so easy to rabbit proof! Hmmm..rabbit running free in a house as part of the family or stuck in a hutch? Not difficult to decide that one!
Ok, I show rabbits as a part of the ARBA. (aka The Devil to you guys) and I appericate you trying to help rabbits and all, but I cannot support the House Rabbit Society because they go agianst everything I believe in with my show rabbits. I love each one of them very much, but its just hard to watch you guys and know you support House rabbit Society.
Well I keep my rabbits in hutches...they let rabbits run free in thier house where they could possibly chew on wires and other materials to get them hurt. The House Rabbit Society does not like us for that fact we show our animals and have them in competitions. I can assure you though that my rabbits are clean, well fed, and thier health and well being is my top concern. IIf you didn't have good, clean, healthy, and loved rabbits, you would not be able to win at shows
Thanks for sharing your humble past...sorry to hear that you were homeless, but I am glad you found a great home and also have Chouchou. I am so glad that your life has a happy ending and you-Buns and Chouchou are the BEST. Keep up the good work- House Rabbit Society, and to all the other animal rescue society out there...you guys rock in my book.
I'm glad someone found you Buns! No bunny belongs out in the cold! My bunny is a rescued rabbit through House Rabbit Society, and now he lives a good life inside a house. Thank you Buns and Chou Chou for your support of HRS!!
omg i totally know what you mean. i don't wanna watch somebody's snake eating a rabbit. thats horrible. nobody else needs to see that except the person feeding the stupid snake
Hey everybody... I started to get sick about "you tube" because any time I look for the "rabbit" word a lot of crap like: "My snake (python) eats the biggest rabbit yet" jumps out!
Can we do something, It is animal abuse, isn´t it???
@Muyez I agree. They should be thrown in jail for animal cruelty. Then their disgusting snakes should be dropped off in the middle of Death Valley or something.
@mdonnelly1971 Their should be penalty for this. It is in essences PIt Killing. Yes the snake has to eat, just like we do. It's not the snakes fault, In the wild the snake would choose a smaller meal. When you tape it, invite people over to watch it, post it on YouTube, you create entertainment at the expense of an animals life, which not even media outlet can do in movies or on TV without the Human Society making sure "No animals were harmed in the makeing of this video". So it's ok here? NO
@Muyez Yes it is. I call it Pit Killing because that is what it is. Taping the act and putting it on YouTube turns it into entertainment at the expense of the rabbits death. YouTube really needs to filter the videos and catagorize them. It is sad any time you go on expecting to watch cute, lovable, friendly rabbit antics you are just a few clicks away from the horror of "Rabbit Pit Killing".
Thanks for letting us know Bun's history. Some celebs try to cover up their, at times, controversial pasts. With his wit, eloquence, and grace, I would swear he was brought up with royalty. I have one adopted bun, earl, a lop eared angora with combination fur that matts like crazy unless you give him regular haircuts. Anyway, he was returned several times to the shelter because of his 'doo. He's such a doll though - he also talked me into volunteering at the bunny room too for a while!
Thank you SOOOO much about the HRS mention. I've been a HRS member for 17 years and did the four viedos that were shown at the anniversary event. I love Buns and ChouChou and appreciate so much your mention of that great organization!!! P.S. I've had five bunnies from HRS. None quite as stylish or talented as Buns and Chou!
Thank you so much. I heard yours was also previewed. Note that I've just posted all four to YouTube as well, so you can view them as often as you and the other subscribers would like. Thank you so much again. Wow. What celebs they had at the event! Buns and Chou's owners! I so which I could have made it (but live in Georgia.)
Thanks for all of your comments as usual fans. We think that most agree: there's no excuse for how some animals are treated. Buns never realized how bad, until the hawks were circling overhead. Hollywood was a long way away, indeed.
We really appreciate the stories, sentiments and many votes of confidence.
Aww, that was such a touching video. Rabbits are such interesting creatures and their are no other comparable animals that display their characteristics and behaviors. You really have to own a rabbit, have them altered, keep them in your house, and get down to their level on the floor to get the full extent of each rabbit's distinct personality. I love my rabbits and I love your show! Keep the videoes coming and everyone should support the HRS.
I visit shelters now and then to remind myself why I'll never buy a full breed cat or dog. (There are just SO many in need of a home already.) I've often seen bunnies at the Humane Soc.
So, a delicate question... are B and C .... "fixed?"
After all, you know what they say about rabbits don't ya'?
thank you Nicholas, Bunz and Chou for doing this video. I rescued 2 bunnies like that too. They just let them go. We love you. Now I have 4 bunnies that watch rabbit bites too--Chanel, Emma, McNish and LilGurl.
Bravo, Buns, Chou, and Nicholas! While there are many ills in the world, I can't think of an organization more worthy of this praise or an animal more deserving of attention to their plight (3rd most popular animal in shelters today, only behind dogs and cats). Kudos to House Rabbit Society for their good works on behalf of these lovely creatures and congrats on the 20th anniversary. Rabbitbites Rules!
We adopted a bunny from the woods. Someone had dumped our bunny in the trail. We worked for a week and were able to finally rescue Dash. He wanted to be rescued because he was at our front tire of our car the first time we went to look for him. He is the most loving bunny. We also love the HRS. They give awesome advice for bunnies.
Well, I'm not sure but I think he was pretty young even though he was already quite large. He hopped up in a park - someone had really just let him go...This is the case with many of the rabbits they see in the shelters. Of course, with my eye for discovering talent, I knew this kid was going a long way...
chou chou looks JUST like my rabbit Amelia she waz saved from the rabbit house socetity then i donated like 100$ to it for helping rabbits after a month or 2! i felt so good
