Even at the Commissary, children's cereal is on the middle shelves. They belong on the top shelf so parents would have the power they need. There are two grocery stores I can easily walk to. Freestyle sports are perfectly fine, as long as they are doing some physical activity.
If a parent can't tell their child no and give them a time out perhaps the child should be left home when it's time to do groceries? I will not be ran by my kids, no way in hell. They will get treats but it won't be a constant and never as a reward. Everyone should have some kind of physical activity [30-60 minutes a day], even if it's just walking.
@BayAreaBiker2001, or perhaps parents should get a grip on reality and just say 'no' regardless of how much the kid whines. Only a shit parent cannot stand their ground.
@Elk4758, that may be true for the largest cities (ex. Toronto), but it is not true for the smaller cities in my area. There is a city bus system in the nearest city, but it is shit. I can't use it because I live outside the city and there is not one single bus route that goes near my house.

I thought most cities had buses that were both cheap and easily accessible.

@Elk4758 Nope. Where I live the bus fares are alright, but the transportation system is shit.
