Really great sound man....and excellent playing too, spot on. great feel. What an incredible solo this is, love how you pick it apart. There's so much blues in it...Ace was such an underrated player. Would love to hear him in a straight ahead blues band, he'd tear it up. Rock on dude.
@Hydrefyricon Thanks so much. I played this one and Strutter back in the 9th grade talent show (OK, 1979). Probably not note for note back then, but always alot of fun!
thanks for posting this & detailing the solo - one of my favorite guitar solos ever ... there's one patented ace signature missing though ... go back to 7:23 in your recording and then listen to the alive 1 solo ... ace's idiosyncratic vibrato on those sustained bends ... it's not that easy to get at first, but ... that will put the finishing touch on an otherwise excellent rendition.
Go for it!! One note - then one chord - then a few more - and suddenly you're standing in front of a wall of Marshalls riding your stage elevators!!! I used to draw Kiss stages when I was in Jr. High. Clem
I was in 6th grade and had started playing BTO when my cousin said "listen to this, it's probably too rough for you". It was Alive 1. I stayed up with the headphones on for many hours... These teaching videos have forced me to really work through the songs. Beforehand, I just kinda played through them. I talk about this in the Let Me Go R&R viedoe #2. Thanks for the comments. Clem
I know I'm biased towards my own guitar, but it's set up just right. I've worked on at least 10 friends' guitars through the years and they're just not the same. Maybe it's because I've tweaked it just a little at a time over the (~28) years I've had it. Clem
I owned a Behringer V Amp 2 back in '02. I had to return it, because at one point, I played a note with delay. The note just kept repeating itself over and over. When I'd turn it off and plug it back in (hours later) I'd still hear the damn note repeating itself! Couldn't get it to stop. Nice sound, though! Your vids rock!

sorry, it's more like 7:20 in the recording ... which corresponds to about 2:20 in the alive 1 recording.
