  • I like this version better than the one they have today.

  • awesome jeopardy theme

  • awesome theme song

  • I personally prefer this pitch of music compared to the current pitch of the theme song.

  • Thumbs up if you think the Grid Set was the best J! set used to date.

  • @SparkMaster2117 I like the Sushi Bar set, personally. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! both had their best years from late 1997-2002, in my opinion.

  • @bradgandy02

I liked the music the most from that time for both shows.

  • It was right bongo theme used in 1992 instead the 1991 start is the set not the theme

  • Very Retro lol

  • i miss that set

  • I luv this theme!!!

  • Thanks! I was looking for this for a long time!

  • Who is the person in the 2nd picture?

  • Pretty sure its Jerome Vered, from Season 8. Went on to compete in several J! tournaments, including the Ultimate Tourn. of Champions.

  • Yes, it is. I just watched a TOC video on JackBauer152's account on Veoh (JackBauer112).

  • Jerome Vered... surprised you don't recognize him.

  • Well, I thought it couldn't be him with the small total.

  • He's Leszek Pawlowicz, my favorite J! champion from the 90s.

  • ...and first contestant, that born outside US and are a champion. Yeah, we have also Sara Maikowski - haha, also from poland, on season 1, but only one ep (source J! Archive), and also from polish family Lois Kurowski.

and i think Jeopardyman mean the person in picture before Leszek, with $700 total, because him can read his name on picture :)

This theme (and bongo remix) has making jeopardy jeopardish - on first 15 secs, there was a scaring opening of theme.

  • whats up? i am responding to curiseshipz comment

  • Well, animfan, what season when you were born?

  • I was born 1 week before season 5.

  • BTW, that first picture is either from Season 11, Season 12 or early Season 13 because of the spinning globe on the monitors.

  • @ Ivoryface86 Season 13 didn't have that set. It had the Sushi Bar Set starting with the S13 premiere.

  • Actually, Season 13 did use the gridding set and it was still used for the first 50 episodes. The Sushi Bar set had to be built during the first 50 episodes of S13 so it debuted November 11, 1996.

  • My first full season I was able to be around with was the 1986-87 season so animfan1, were you around in that season?

  • Yes, I was around in the 1988-89 season.

  • No, I was born before the 1988-89 season.

  • No I was not.

  • In the first picture, why aren't the top and bottom arches lit blue like they are normally?

  • I don't know. I found it on oddchange(dot)com.

  • during the regular gameplay, they would turn off the arch lights. This was the best set of them all

  • Why?

  • Why did they turn off the lights? I dont know. Maybe to save on electricity? Or are you asking why is it the best set? It's my personal favorite with the 1986-91 and Super J! sets being my second favorite

  • This was also used for a short time in 1990

  • Yes it was.

  • It was used late in the 1989-90 season (April-June of 1990)

  • This tone of the "Jeopardy!" theme was also used in the 1988-89 season which is the first full season I was able to watch because I was born.

  • Where you get the picture of Leszek?

  • oddchange(dot)com
