  • does every fuckin video have to add their own music? dumb bitch

  • @weecraig2k8mufc1 I really enjoyed the video, but you labled it wrong. You should have called it an AMV. The dislikes are probably from people who thought they were going to get the actual battles from the show instead of clips cut to match the music.

  • JUST UPLOAD THE DAMN BATTLE WITHOUT A DUMB SOUNDTRACK

  • This is - i guess so - one of the biggest crappy holy motherfucking shitty epicness when the 2 Battlestars are circling around this Cylon-Ship and bashing it into hell!!!

    3:00 <---It´s a sign xDDD

(I will not justify for bad grammar, i´m not that close to the english language. I just wanted to tell you how epic it is...)

  • @DieBismarck1 As awesome as Galactica is, Pegasus was just so frakkin' beautiful to see in battle. May she rest in peace.

  • WTB high quality version of this video.

  • @Metzae INDEED! That kicked ass!!!!!

  • somewhere out there in vast nothingness of space.

somewhere far away in space and time...

is another really bad poet like I.

  • Does anyone know what DRADIS or waht ever it was called meant, I know it was the detection system.

  • @spearoflife If i remember right.DRADIS stands for Direction-RAnge-DIStance

  • I remember seeing this video a really long time ago, and i finally found it again! =D

  • Whats the name of the song in this vid?

  • @awgu Pendulum - Slam.

  • Well, it's a little boring..good music, though.

  • S T I L L watching

  • Looks like one big cluster fck lol.

  • Okay, must say that one of the most powerful moments in the series is 1:54-2:23...I actually had the Babylon 5 opening narrations in the my head during that..."all alone in the dark..." and then there's hope...

  • Battlestar Galactica the 21st century version, it show advancement in computer technology that is very good. The original Battlestar Galactica had only one season, and everyone watched it as a hit show; but the special effects were so expensive that the studio producers scrapped it for Mork & Mindy--the whole alien show shot in an apartment--instead of expensive flight & space combat scenes.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF yeah i was disapointed that the first series got canceled. but i was so happy to see that zarek was played by the original apollo

  • 3:40 - 3:43 nice timing

''is this base really strong enough?''

    xD

  • @TheVideoMaker001 nah i think its says is this beast realy strong enough but im not sure either

  • wonderful

  • 5:55 where is that from... a movie or the show? newer saw that scene...but its vey cool though

  • Yeah its the series when the algae planet got blown up by its star going nova, series 3 I think

  • season 3 when they went to the algea planet

  • Heh. Thank goodness they decided not to go with the split view screens for battles idea they had in the original BSG script. 4:10 is about what it would have looked like. Works great for 24. But I like fullscreen immersive explosions for BSG! :D

  • Is it possible to find any BSG battles WITHOUT them being dubbed over with music?

  • watch the show if u dont want music over it thats what the show is for so you can watch it and hear the talking

  • I'm not talking about watching the show, I'm talking about how people dub over music over an already good sound track. And besides, the music that's dubbed over is overpowering and loud.

  • I like the strafing at 1:11-1:28

    Pretty sick stuff

  • Awesome video, awesome song.

Do you know where the song is from? I got it stuck in my head lol

  • Slam by Pendulum

  • Thanks man

  • BSG is the best

  • agreed! XD

  • For the record: Why Pegasus exploded when she crashed the baseship and why Galactica didnt with the Colony is explained by the fact Pegasus "Had" to be destroyed so they could use her set as the baseship one.

  • Oh, you must be mistaken about structural engineering.

The hull of the colony was obviously simply weaker than the hull of the basestar pegasus threw herself into.

How that clears things up for you :]

  • the galactica is over 5 thousand ft long according to sci-fi channel encyclopedia. a nimitz class carrier is 1,089 ft long.

  • 1.4 km long

  • Just FYI Galactica is several times bigger then a Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier.

  • I have 2 questions. How can a ship that big and a Battlestar is huge and how can it enter a planets atmosphere? Would the mass of the ship disrupt the natural magnetism of the planet and disrupt the wind currents?

  • Lol, your joking right? We have ships at sea almost as big as Galactica.

  • I am not joking at all.

  • Well in that case. Let me explain. Galactica is about 600 meters, thats about 1000 something feet.

Do you think a thousand foot object would effect the Earths atmosphere?

  • no shes 1.4 km

  • battlestars are called battlestars because they look like stars from the surface of the planet if you are looking up at one, they are so massive. they are flying cities with full nuclear capabilities. colonial 1 is a pretty big ship and it can park in one of galacticas hanger decks and hardly half fill it! i reckon the whole american navy could fit inside galactica if it were hollow!

  • actually... no where close. Pegasus had a crew of roughly 4000, and from what i understand a modern aircraft carrier has a crew of roughly 1000-2000. Battlestars are not a city in space, infact they are the opposite. They are a floating gun battery, nothing more. I thinki remember reading somewhere that in scale, the galactica is at most 1.5km long which is hardly anything.

  • Nimitz class aircraft carriers have crews that number inbetween 5500 and 6500 crewmen.

  • you said yourself that battlestars are about 1.5 kliks long. taking into account how tall they are too.. and if you spread out BS Galactica to one deck level, its about the size of a city.

  • even if that was true, name a city that is only 1 storey high throughout the whole entirity. And even with all the decks flat, its no where near the size of a city. Thats like saying laying newyork out flat would create a city the size of the whole of America.

  • i meant surface area of a city, not with sky skrapers and everything. battlestars are like a city in space in the respect that they have like accomadation for loads of people, sports halls, cafiterias, factories and ,in the galacticas case, a museum.

  • Galactica didn't have space for a museum, it WAS a museum. The whole ship had been set up as a rememberance of the First Cylon War. And there were no factories on the galatica, which is why it could not produce any extra vipers until it met the Pegasus, which had that capability.

  • but it still has a museum in it on one of the flight deck. FYI there is a munition factory aboard galactica and chief tyrell made a stealth viper, did he not? (im having loads of fun having this massive disscussion w/ u! lol hahah)

  • no the museum wasn't on the flight deck, it WAS the flight deck. There was no flight deck there after that, and the ship was never expected to see combat again, so was effectively mothballed, just had a purpose. Yes there was a munitions factory, but not a viper factory, and Tyroll made that viper by hand, using scaps he could find around the place. He would not be able to produce a proper viper though, as they did not have the materials avaliable or facilities.

  • The battlestars, while nowhere near a flying city were more than just floating gun batteries. They contained everything needed for long space deployment, Pegasus had everything needed onboard to take raw materials and make vipers, and galactica, while it had no manufacturing plant had the capacity to manufacture ammo and replacement parts. All a battlestar needed was the mining ships to be able to opreate indefinitly (excepting catastrophic damage to the ship)

  • 1)Yes.

Anything can enter the atmosphere and since I'm told Galactica survived three nuclear blasts, I'm sure an atmosphere entry won't be that much of a problem.

    2)No.

First. We already have electromagnets much stronger than the Earth's magnetic field . You don't see them screwing the natural order. And if you did mean gravity instead of magnetism, Galactica still has too little a mass to account for any serious effect.

Second. Wind currents and the weather in general, don't work that way.

  • It cannot enter a planet. Thats why when she jumped into New Caprica she bagan to fall.

  • yeah that was pretty cool...

  • frak me! what carp soundtrack!

  • the soundtrack of the last 20 seconds was much better than the one before...

  • this was the song from melee style

  • wat is the song or songs called?

  • slam by pendulum. the most awesome song ever.

  • 3:44 EPIC :)

  • i agree this is the most coolest vid on youtube!

  • Holy shit...what song is this?!?

  • ITs Pendulum - Slam =)

  • This song would b a badass entrance song for an MMA fight.

  • gawd i comment a lot on this vid! mabe thats because it kiccks asss!

  • This show gave me wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahahahaha! what?

  • How awesome was the sacrifice of the Pegasus.

  • yes battlestar pegasus does really kick cylon ass! check out from 2:10 when it appeares and starts owning bacestars!

  • basestars*

  • Wait, aren't they called BaseSHIPS not BaseSTARS? They always referred to them as Cylon Baseships.

  • i think there are both base stars and base ships are 2 different classes of cylon warship. if you look closley at the ressurestion ship battle on BSG season 2 there are a smaller tipe of base star in the battle. also when the cylon fleet appeares over new caprica in the last episode of season 2 you also see a smaller tipe of base star, well thats what i think aryway

  • @Killzillastudios They resized the basestars during season 2 I believe if you read the battlestar wiki page on them.

  • yes basestars are cool

  • When will people stop pairing amazing scenes with utterly crappy music? News flash, RAP SUCKS!

  • u think that? i think it fits in really well withe music on 2:13 where pegasus appeares is awsome!

  • This wasn't rap, its more of techno. They have to start rapping to make it rap. I kinda agree though music is only decent. However the video is very well directed. Good job MrDobilina

  • my god that must have been the most kickass video ever!

  • WRONG!!

  • Comment removed

  • get a taste in music why don'y you

  • After the Battle of New Caprica....Galactica cemented itself as the toughest ship in Sci-Fi history. And she even took more punishement later on. Wow.

  • got to say even though the acting isnt as good as the original, the battles really do kick ass

  • What? The original was cheesy.

  • nostalgia can make anything seem better.

  • I like the driveby at 1:09

    its awesome :D

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

  • i soo agree with you! that was a rly kool vid!

  • wats da song called????????????

  • Pegasus was hauling ass when she collided with that Basestar. We rarely see exhaust plumes of that size come from Peggy during the show. If ever.

Interesting you bring up the ribbed structure of Galactica. I would think, these would create "shot traps". These increase the amount of damage if a vessel where hit in one. However, as the show progressed we didn't see this happen. Galactica took an unbelievable amount of punishment in 4 years before finally having her "back broken"

  • those ribs are on which her armor plating is placed, she appears halfway done because she was being decommissioned when the war began

  • SuperboyConnerKent-

Nah...the ribs were part of the "class" design. If you recall the Webisode's for Razor..Galactica and the Doomed Battlestar Columbia sported the same ribbed structure.

At least in the US Navy..when a ship becomes a museum..the best effort is made to keep a ship in her original condition...minus ordinance. Reference USS Missouri and New Jersey..now memorials/museums.

  • heres somthing to think about THE PEGASUS WASNT GOOD AT ACCEL AND SPEEN THE GALACTICA WAS AT her full speed when she hit the colony btw

the battlestar pegasus is a heavly armoured ship BUT the galactica has ribbed amour where the bulcheads are

this might help stop damage but when the pegasus rammed it exploded from the front and the explosive decompresion ran down the ship as you can see by the ripple affect that it causes 3.44

    explosions on middle section

  • okay this just popped in to my head.

aren't they miss using the fighters? from what i know fighter in space are meant to make sure there fighters don't get to your ship and disables its guns or are meant to make sure the missiles don't reach your ship.

    1) okay they where really out numbered and there was no way they could get to the silons(don't know if that's spelled right)

    2) there are no rail guns on the silon ships only missile ports.

can some one please tell me if i'm missing something

  • First its Cylon. They do use the Vipers to take out any cylon fighter or missile but because battlestar has flak cannons it can protect it self so they are used to protect the raptors which carry the nukes and can end a battle very fast.

  • okay, i see now thank you.

  • at 2:07 the music is sooo great and directly at the right part

  • Lol. One does not call a Cigar "medicinal" as Roslyn did in sickbay.

As to why Galactica did not explode when she rammed the Cylon colony...I think some Physics answers the question. Kinetic Energy is equal to 1/2 (mass) (velocity)^2. Pegasus was a larger Battlestar we all know..but more importantly she was ramming into that basestar with far more velocity (Galactica barely got any speed going in her final run because she was so close to the colony). Result: Peggy blew up. Galacticaa didn't

  • Why did it have to end! I want more BSG! MORE! THere is nothing watch tv anymore. Sc fi ended there BEST show. Stargate was really good too but that ended as well. So when bsg ended well same does my cable substriction.

  • So Long Galactica, you will be missed *sobs

  • Rest in Peace Galactica...what a journey.

  • Humans are incredibly resourceful.

  • I love the realism of these battles.. I know they might not be completely realistic but still - eg relying on a flak shield and armour not energy shields, with ballistic projectiles instead of lasers. Plus when ships blow up it is a slower paced affair, with debris remaining after - unlike other shows where they just explode and nothing is left

  • babalon five is better slightly then this with how things work and they dont have tngines just thrusters

  • Sorry, but Babylon 5 is the Xena Warrior Princess of space operas.

  • only problem is last season they changed the phisics engine making it more non realaistic i meen the battlestar pegasus smashed into a bace star AND EXPLODED I know it was heavly damaged but so is the galactica and the pegasus is alot more heavly armoured they rushed the ending and they also changed the engine trial for the vipers from a goldy fire jet look to a afterburner type blue look i didnt like it to be onest but YEP DEF THE BEST IV EVER SEEN

  • Spinfrak is right; Sci-Fi's resurrection of BSG is awesome. This music however, is not. Just one question.

Where can I get some of what you're smoking?

  • New Caprica Weed ;)

  • lol

  • naw... its that shit.. roslin smokes... the joint she keeps in the book that adama reads to her... baltar smoked that shit once.. and ever since he sees a giant white girl in his head....

  • aleazcazan-

that blunt Adama and Roslyn smoke is New Caprica Weed! The finest blend, and medicinal as well!

  • its a fucking sigar not wead u ho bo lol :P

  • Yes these scenes are from the "Reimagined" Battlestar Galactica on SciFi channel. This show, frankly is the best sci-fi show ,in my opinion, in the past 2 decades. And it's not all the top notch FX ...it has deep character development and story lines that make the viewer *think*. For one who has not watched it while its been on TV I highly reccomend the DVDs. You'll be impressed. And yes Starbuck was cast as a woman. And it worked!

  • This is the newer series, isn't it?

  • Different music. Nice.

I will miss Galactica on Friday Nights. Best Sci Fi show on TV in a long long time.

  • I tend to prefer fan videos that omit music... but this is just awesomely done.

    Five stars!

  • What kinda monged out music is that????

  • good job

  • Comment removed

  • i think in the last episode of BSG the galacitca breaks in 2 pieces

  • If you watch the last episode of BSG, you will see the severe damage the ship structure has sustained because of the battles and maneuvers it has done.

  • what was the music at the start?

  • It was from the bsg miniseries sound track called "Are you alive"

  • Thanks!

  • Liked the clips you chose and also good choice with pendulum, it fitted quite well.

Sure its doesn't have the same ambience as the actual series, it is different but i think it works very well. Nice job!

  • Thank you :)

  • kinetic energy (aka something solid smacking into you at high velocitys) is pure murder, especialy in space when the only thing that can absorb that energy (and crumble from that) is your spaceship.

Even worse when the shell starts, like, exploding in your face after it guttet you.

  • That...was...AWESOME!

  • Thanks :)

  • I wonder why they still use Gauss other than energy weapons....

  • they use guass because BSG tries to remain a little more realistic. Still some things they had 2 do, sounds, FTL, to keep the show goin :P

  • That space bullets are far more novel and cool to me than the now overdone and trite space lasers of most scifi aside, I think projectiles make sense: they would be cheap to make, they are kinetically devastating when shot at high speeds, and don't put any additional heatsink or power demands on a space vessel and laser technology as we know it just wouldn't cut it in any combat setting. So whether from a storytelling/stylistic angle or a practical/realistic angle--space bullets just make sense.

  • lasers? thats starwars trademark.

Kinetic energy makes more sense indeed, and as of recent, we really dont know how a laser blaster would really do to an armoured hull.

maybe make a small instant oven?

  • yes, we know exactly what a laser would do (laser also isnt trademarked, it's an acronym from a scientific experiment, you can't trademark that) to an armored hull. We currently have industrial lasers designed to cut through solid metal, the problem is that they require large amounts of energy are are short-range.

  • Its probably harder to make a form of effective shield defense from projectile weaponry than it is with energy based ones

  • This debate cropped up when i uploaded this the first time....

  • True, but I wonder how the ship can handle itself with all of that kinetic energy being applied to itself.

    Newtons third law-

  • The turrets have some kinda recoil mechanism. The 'barrel' contracts after every shot. Galactica's railguns, right?

  • I guess the show follows physics pretty well.

    Awesome.

  • best frakking space physics of any sci fi show... did you see the vipers going sideways shooting at the resurrection ship? but like all space operas.. they dont explain gravity within the ship... that fact always bugs me.. and its in every space sci fi show.. the entire ship loses power, including lights for gods sake... but gravity still works.. but BSgalactica=best space opera ever.. better than trek or star wars.. in my opinion...

  • I think the creators of the show deliberately left out some physics related topics like gravity..and lightspeed, focusing more, as you alluded to the, characters of the show. A definite turn from Star Trek, with I agree a better result.

  • its ok, it was removed from mine because of Universal Paramount claiming copyrights for the scenes i used

  • Your video is really cool.

  • Thanks :D

  • one thing I think that BSG hit right on the nose that made the series fucking amazing is how massively chaotic they made the battles.

  • i luv the ressurection ship destruction scene ;]

  • nice vid, the music is awesome

  • What is the background music?

  • Everything is Slam by Pendulum. Its the whole song

  • Absolotely awesome vid, want toe music nou xD

  • I love this video

I couldnt find it for a while cuz it had been deleted

    thxs for reposting

  • I want the link to the producer of this Vid,...Meaning Mr. Dobilina....

  • i love battlstar when does the new seson start

  • January 16 in the US and I assume in Canada and the UK, as well. I don't know about Russia.

  • Whats the song name starting 2:11 ?

  • The song name is Slam by Pendulum.

  • what is the voice overlay from

  • This video KICKS ASS

whats is the name of that song from 1:05-1:50

  • the music type fits extremely well its an action song with action music dont dis it

  • now they wouldn't let me reload this, i needed it to re-embed after they pulled it from Dobalina

  • wit you mean which program battlestar galactica off course

  • I believe he means which video editing program you used, not which television show.

  • I used Sony Vegas 7.0 to make battlestar galactica battles season 2-3 which gives you .veg files and then can export as .wmv

    lots of great features

  • Nicely done! Witch program did you use?

  • fuck this ist soooo SICK

    GREAT JOB
