I assume that legal point of view on this matter doesn't interest you so here is logical explanation why SU presence in Estonia is not an occupation: Since 1945 SU has been building schools, roads, medical centers, airport, railroad, and most of today's infrastructure in Estonia. Then in 1990 just left it all for Estonians to use, never asking any kind of compensation. Now compare that to any known occupation case in the history (Iraq for example). See the difference?

Explain to me how the Soviets were not totalitarian but the Nazis were. Mere neglect did not create the Holodomor, the GULAGs, the occupation of sovereign countries, or the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact with the Nazis.
Those who defend communism in theory should really reflect on the severe danger associated with giving near unlimited power to a single person. How is this not totalitarian?

The Estonians have the right to hate Stalin and the Soviet Union. They were forced into the USSR, I understand their hate for soviet symbols.
But in their hate they equal communism with nazism and that is very wrong. Communism was abused by Stalin and others, it is not a totalitarian ideology. Nazism is totalitarian by nature, Communism not.

I think you have things backwards. Political enemies were the first to occupy German concentration camps, if they were lucky enough not to be shot outright.
As for treating the Estonians well, you would have regretted that if you had lived back then and Hitler had won. Just look what he did to the Czechs, who were on "good terms" with him after ceding their strategic borderlands. Even more, look what he did to North Italy after Mussolini, these were the first fascists and his most loyal allies!

most of my statements are formed on my opinion if looked from estonia. I am not very well informated how germans treated other allies. My guess is that other allies weren't so "racially clean" as nazies expected.
I consider that political enemies are estonian local communists who are called also as "July Communists" and they had been shot down even in independent estonia. Most of estonian government members were arrested and shot during soviet occupation, by the german occupation time...

It is easy to re-write history, becouse the Soviet history was based on lies and communist propaganda. The Red army conquered Estonia and forced it to communism. Hitler and Wehrmacht were small harm on Estonian soil compared to Red Army, Stalin and the hordes of brutal communist diktatur. Hitler was only quite harmless bourgeois idiot diktator from Germany, not any kind of thread for bourgeois economy system and private ownership. Stalin was a brutal mass murderer without humanity.

The sculpture was relocated into Military Cemetary (approximately 2 km away from its original location) where it belongs. The remains of the Soviet soliders were reburied there too with honour.

1. Monument was removed a couple of weeks before the "Victory day" (victory over III Reich that is.)
2. Prime minister of Estonia said that he will never remove the monument just weeks before he removed it.
3. The territory was surrounded by fence with banners saying that it's "archeological excavations" taking place.
4. Remains of at least one buried soldier got lost in the process.

Stalin did many bad things to us, but again he was ruling the country during WW II. If he wouldn't be there, we might have lost the war. We have to thank him, because if he didn't rule country effectively, than we would lose and than we wouldn't be living here. We respect him for that.

I assume that legal point of view on this matter doesn't interest you so here is logical explanation why SU presence in Estonia is not an occupation: Since 1945 SU has been building schools, roads, medical centers, airport, railroad, and most of today's infrastructure in Estonia. Then in 1990 just left it all for Estonians to use, never asking any kind of compensation. Now compare that to any known occupation case in the history (Iraq for example). See the difference?

ok, so SU bombed and dewstroyed our infrastructure, including schools, roads, ports (BTW 95% of Estonian population could write in Estonian, and in one foreign language for eyear 1870, so we had no problems with educational system). And then built it up again. What has it to do with occupation or not being occupation? to occupant it is useful to have strong vasalls, to get mor emoney from it.

I don't know where do you take this info but as far as I know to 1940 only 40% of school aged youth was able to get education. Do you think SU got any money from Estonia?

Many Estonians supported nazis, because we were first occupied by USSR. You know, Germany occupied us in 1941. USSr did it in 1939. Germans wer eliberators to us. USSR deported us, not Germany. USSR killed us and replaced our government not Germany. USSR occupied us, well germany did it as well, but USSR did it twice.

During that time Germany and USSR were signing many agreements about staying in peace. I know that in those agreements giving and taking away of some terrirtories happened. It was just bad luck that your country was counted as nothing at that time. You should blame Germany for this thing too.
