ah well, while i believe the is a a time for war , it should be done in accordance with your charter, in this case the constitution ( it goes kinda like this , the prez ask congress to declare war, and if they do, we whip the holy shite out of them until they say uncle, then we hang all their leaders and then come home )
Always using Hitler and the 6,000,000 pathetic (victims) to make a point. Hey jew boy, what about Stalin, Lenin, Mao. They are the sane ones right?? For a brief second there I was one your side. Now your just a schill for the mind controlling Zionists. Not even clever... The oven is ready.
@4shacks1house you can easily pick out a child molester from a crowd. he uses words like mind controlling Zionists, not even knowing what the fuck a Zionist is... shame shame, you had a great argument until you went all fucktard at the end.
@MetalSights No, I couldn't. But let's look at the 2003 Iraq war. We've never had a serious threat from Iraq. And I don't think the killing of all those civilians in a country THAT DIDN'T ATTACK US is an act of the "most civilized" society. There's a disconnect between the rhetoric and the reality.
@drumrnva Nevermind that you ignore Saddams eventual religiously based genocide of over 300,000 of his people, or his secret police and use of biological weapons to slaughter them, of course.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE FACTS
CLASSIFIED US DOCUMENTS that were leaked showed that about 66,000+ civilians died in the Iraq war campaign.
Insurgents killed about 48,000+ of these people. That means the US is completely responsible for the deaths of about 18,000 people.
@MetalSights 18000 people... so fucking what...48000 is much higher, and what about all the civilians sadam killed? that tallies up to half a million. you wouldnt sacrafice 18,000 to save 550,000? i would. the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. extremely small price to pay.
@MetalSights The numbers vary, but all of the official estimates are far more than 66000. Where are you reading that? And if you're arguing that despots who murder their subjects are ok to invade, why haven't we invaded all the other countries that have done such things?
@drumrnva And don't give me the "Why can't you fix everything, then?" bullshit.
We are trying to help in one spot and there's already calls of nationbuilding an entire fictional empire. Hell, I disagree with helping in Syria because it would only forward more conspiracies and hate. They didn't want us in Libya, and now they're begging we help with Syria. Sounds like a bunch of hypocritical flipflopping horseshit to me.
@MetalSights We've got an enormous base in Iraq now that will have to be paid for, staffed, etc. No end in sight in Iraq. I think that saying things are better there is a stretch. But I don't know. I do maintain that Klavan's view of this culture and the reality are two very different things.
@drumrnva Iraq (and pakistan and many other places) has been infected with the disease of a twisted version of Islam, and it's very hard to get rid of something that makes a human being so insane as to kill himself and others in the name of faith.
@MetalSights Iraq was one of the most secular nations in the Mideast before the war in 2003, with almost zero suicide bombings. Just sayin'. If a bunch of Muslims invaded the US tomorrow, killing scores of thousands, taking over the government, commerce, military, etc-- you'd see some American suicide bombers.
@drumrnva That's a pretty big claim since you can't really back it up. I certainly do not have the balls to strap explosives to myself and run into a hospital, and no-one else I know would either.
I wouldn't mind if they were attacking Americans. They can personally justify that because they seem us as invaders. I do have a serious problem with them slaughtering civilians and police officers for no reason, which happens literally daily.
"almost zero" means there was and still is an issue.
@drumrnva Yesterday, almost 30 Iraqi police officers were massacred. For what? Because the Americans are there they killed their own countrymen who are there to protect them?
@MetalSights No, they're killing each other because they have political differences. They are operating in a political dead zone which is neither Sadam's iron fist nor a democracy in any real sense. Those factions have always hated each other and now each one fights for primacy. They're not "mindless". They have political ends in mind.
@MetalSights OK. But this violence wasn't happening before the US-led invasion removed the structure/gov't. It's our mess now. Lots of people foresaw it before the war. Let's ask each other in 5, 10 years if it was worth it. I can't see how it could ever be, but maybe I'm wrong. I maintain that the war in Iraq is not the act of a country/culture that can call itself civilized.
@MetalSights I don't know. That is too much speculation for me. I never claimed that war is civilized. Attacking a country which was not a threat to us is not just uncivilized. It's brutal. It's also quite profitable for some folks. I guess it was just the next thing on the agenda. I have no illusions that war isn't necessary. But I don't buy into the flowery patriotic language. America's not all good or all bad.
@origionalwinja Folks, the notion that Sadam killed or would have killed 500k/yr is pure speculation. And I will only accept your "acceptable number of casualties" argument if you will say that it would have been acceptable if you or someone you care about had been one of the casualties. "Extremely small price to pay"? The violence in Iraq continues, and the invading allies lost a lot of people. At what number does the price become too much?
@WeirdCrazyShortGuy somewhat neocon? have you seen his "Give the Middle East to the Jews" video? it sounds like a AIPAC policy video. they would turn the whole middleeast into a openair concentationcamp like the gazastrip and make the usa and nato police it. and the jews wonder why they are hated in the area if they put out stuff like this ._.
@WeirdCrazyShortGuy im a klingon if hes a christian. jesus would rotate on the cross in embarrasment if he would hear his supposed followers talk like this.
War happens when people refuse to be forcibly subjicated.
Most bumper stickers I've seen are pretty stupid like Obama 2008/2012 or Jesus Loves You (You must understand what Jesus prepresents before that makes sense, that's why I think that quote is stupid as a Christian).
So far I'm okay with "Don't tread on me" or NRA or Military Afiliation stickers, but I usually find those on windows....
But we have the freedom of destroying our car's finish.
Blood thristy political demagogy. Nothing new. While I have no problem with ppl using old school propaganda to thrill others into fighting each other... I do have an issue finding that petty-mindedness has not grown out one bit out of latter civilizations. We all know it´s mostly genetics, we´re still operating from our lower brain, ¨fight or flight¨, but how intellectually gullible are we still? Have we humans learned nothing from our history? (That´s a rehtorical question BTW).
Yeah, I'm so scared of millions of illiterate people who can't locate the US on a map who are only pissed at us because of American military raids in their homeland. Intellectual dishonesty right back at you, Andrew. Can the ad hominem attacks, dip shit. I should refer you to another one of your videos in which you talk shit about culture and how it creates a false perception of reality. You're pretty good at it.
@brianbrigg57 There is no real evidence that Bin Laden was behind 9/11. The attacks were just an excuse for Bush to go to war. Look up Bin Laden's FBI most wanted page and see what he's wanted for if you don't believe me. And take into consideration the fabricated and illegitimate reasons for going to war with Iraq. It's obvious what the past administration's objective was. These two wars have ensured that we will continue to have terrorists in the Middle East for a long time.
@ev1ls0da You're absolutely right. Other than the money men and recruiters all worked for Al Qaeda as well as the admission by Bin Laden himself we have absolutely no evidence whatsoever. As for the rest of your delusions see a shrink, YouTube won't help you to deal with them.
@brianbrigg57 Bin Laden "confessed" just to gain support from those who have been disenfranchised by our invading their homeland. These people don't really understand why we are there, and when Bin Laden offers them explanations and makes it seem as though he's on their side. We gave the terrorist organizations more power by these wars. This is exactly what Bin Laden wanted. as for the hijackers themselves, they weren't even from the region we are attacking. Why are we there?
@ev1ls0da You seem to be having a major cognitive dysfunction re chronology.
First 9.11
Second invasion of Afghanistan
Third Invasion of Iraq
Prior to 9.11 there had already been several attempts at taking down the twin towers. The jihadists and their ilk claim to have been teed off about Palestine but that is just a convenient excuse. it all come down to the indisputable fact that everywhere in the world Islam has always had bloody borders. Global air travel has just expanded them.
@brianbrigg57 That wasn't the point. These people weren't from Afghanistan. Most of them were from Saudi Arabia. The money came from the United Arab Emirates. The planning happened in Germany. Why aren't we invading these countries? Being in Afghanistan is a waste of time, money, and human lives AND is giving the terrorist organizations more power. We are accomplishing nothing. You can save the insults, they will get you no where with me.
@ev1ls0da "Bin Laden "confessed" just to gain support from those who have been disenfranchised by our invading their homeland."
"That wasn't the point. These people weren't from Afghanistan."
So what, precisely is your point?
The Taliban in Afghanistan gave safe harbor to terrorists and paid the price. AQ's command and control was operating from there. You measure success by the results. How many succesful attacks have there been since?
@brianbrigg57 Are you serious? You just illustrated my point. We don't have real evidence that Bin laden did. Those who attacked weren't from Afghanistan.
Your point. Well, we should invade afghanistan anyways because they're hiding bin laden. REALLY? You don't get that? How many successful attacks were there before?
And. How many close attempts have we had since? e.g., bomb in Time Square, did you forget about that already?
@brianbrigg57 also, the Taliban were willing to extradite Bin Laden if evidence was provided. Bush didn't provided any and apparently decided that spending trillions of dollars on a war was a more sensible alternative
@ev1ls0da By the way, I agree that Saudi Arabia should pay the price for their support of terror worldwide. I just happen to think that taking out most of AQ C&C in Afghanistan was a good thing as was sucking AQ into putting a lot of effort into Iraq. They also paid a heavy price there.
@brianbrigg57 You didn't get the point. These wars destroyed America's image. Now we have more problems to face. We continue to piss these people off and they retaliate, and when they retaliate we blow up more innocent people who may have had no reason to support these terrorist. Start are war with Saudi Arabia? You're kidding. It will not be worth it. Just as it wasn't worth it with the other wars. We paid an even heavier price. Do you really not see that?
@brianbrigg57 The Taliban offered Bin Laden to the US if we could provide evidence. Bush said that we didn't need to give them evidence, we know he did it. He really was itching to start a war.
If Americans were clear about the fact the war is inevitable and communicated clearly and unequivocally that we were able to willing to wage war when it was necessary, we could avoid a lot human misery i.e war. Like WWII for example. We had to fight WWII because of a bunch of sycophantic peacemongering pussies that assured us that Hitler was not dangerous.
What you are afraid that the Mullahs are going to take over America and force you to speak Arabic? Since I am so stupid, clear my ignorance on something. How can anyone but the government take my freedom?
True, but my point was more that I've never heard of a country that spends 100 times more on their military being invaded by a country a thousand miles away. Think a little. Not too much, but just a bit more than you are. But what would an idiot like me know about it.
"Every soldier worth his salt should be anti-war. Still, there are things worth fighting for." -Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. (forgive me General if I butchered the spelling of your name).
Awesome video!.. And its not so much the war that has kept this country safe but, the warrior who chooses to put him/her self in harm's way so that the self righteous hypocrites that put those bumper stickers can do so with out the fear of prosecution, or death.
My disapproval of war doesn't stem from a belief that I'm better than those that fight because only a few years ago I was one of them. However a very large portion of our veterans and even active duty troops have awakened to see the error in our interventionist ways. I understand that war is sometimes necessary, but I also understand that the wars we're fighting right now aren't necessary.
@oct28th1985 You're 100% absolutely right. The Iraqi people were completely in love with their dictator Saddam, and the Afghans love the Taliban like brothers. Except when they kill those who have an opinion. But then again, I'd love anyone who can eradicate me without a trace.
Are you really trying to say that Conservatives are infringing on people's rights? Are you really at the point where you believe that a smaller government would lead to less rights? Money is not what most people hold as the most precious thing in the world. Happiness is what the majority of people seek, and islamo-fascist nations make that impossible for the majority of people living in those nations and many outside. I listen to facts, you listen to conspiracies.
i would tell you what Ron Paul says constantly, War is the last resort to a threat, in fact, most of our threats right now are because of the worlds perception on American over-aggressiveness and absolute lack of tolerance. "the conservative wing of the republican party always advocated for a non-intervention policy" Ron Paul.
i hate death. i hate war. but their is such thing as the lesser of two evils. like klavan said, it is much better than allowing radically minded tyrants to reign without the fear of being toppled.
@jesusmetal92107 So you think that America should topple tyrants because you believe they are bad? If so are the people who think america is bad be perfectly justified in attacking America. It works both ways.
@Tustin2121 Sorry, it's a bit more difficult to reply from a phone but rest assured, I did finish my post. You may opt to view the world in only your conservative
I will have to agree that he might be right about war being the answer to the ending the plutocratic rule of the U.S. But otherwise, it just seems like he's being a little too sensitive and over reacting to a simple bumper sticker.
@significantpickle He's using the bumper sticker as a means of bringing up this discussion. Because the phrase is not just a bumper sticker, it's a chant used by antiwar protesters today and a way of thinking started by the antiwar moment in the 70's. He wanted to address the issue, so this is how he did it.
@Tustin2121 I don't think anti-war protesters are against all wars, just the ones that are senseless or self serving to the military industrial complex. He fails to address this in the video, so his views a
@significantpickle I'm sorry, I don't argue with anyone who seriously uses the term "Military Industrial Complex". Mainly because people who seriously use this term think every war is a war for profit gain, in their own interest, etc etc etc. And I found that arguing with these people will do nothing to convince them and will only raise my blood pressure.
Also, how did you not finish your sentence? This isn't facebook, where enter is "post".
@Tustin2121 I don't think anti-war protesters are against all wars, just the ones that are senseless or self serving to the military industrial complex. He fails to address this in the video, so his view is biased.
@significantpickle People like you are the people that this video is addressed to, you are so caught up in your petty little world to see the bigger picture, the picture that would reveal to you that war is necessary for you to be what you are today, to speak this language, and be in a world where people can actually trust each other as a whole because they are not always fighting for survival. If you don't like the way things are run around here, than I dare you to go live in the middle-east
@RockoJoe90 Yep, war in necessary to what we are today. Corporate takeover of the political process, First Amendment rights being attacked by SOPA & PIPA, Fourth Amendment rights being attacked through unreasonable searches and seizures at airports, bailouts and subsidies in a capitalistic society. Yep, we need war to protect the thing we hold dearest. Money. And we need fear to keep people like you drinking that kool aid.
If we count the Classical Civilizations of Greece and Rome, superior war power has been almost always on the side of Western Civilization...Except for that millenia that brought the decadence and fall of Rome, the Dark Ages, and the spread of Islam.
@meggatonman Remember World War II. The genocide, the outbreak of fascism, the horrible war crimes of Germany. If Allied countries had gone any longer without declaring war on Germany we may well be under fascist rule. In fact, if those countries had responded initially to Germany breaking the Treaty of Versailles the war probably wouldn't have escalated to the level it did. Often you have to declare war to stop something from becoming a serious threat.
so in 1860 when we still had slavery, we shouldnt have had a terrible civil war to end slavery? what other option did we have?
and in 1944 when hitler was killing jews, gays, and everyone else he hated in concentration camps, we SHOULDNT have destroyed the nazis? what other option did we have to free the innocent?
and in 2001 when we had the largest attack on our home soil ever, were we supposed to just allow them to blow us up here and in europe more?
wait, wait, so let gets this straight, if someone says I don't not like war you they should get their asses pulled over?
you Americans rape yourselves so badly, its not even funny, it use to be in Europe we could have a good laugh, but this is fucking CAMUS of raping yourself from your freedoms
@TheSocialistAngel This is an excellent example of an extremely loaded rebuttal. Clearly he was making an illustration. ILLUSTRATION. Not to be taken literally. Sigh.

I think we should have just left all the left wing, collectivist killers alone. Left wing, radical killers like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, Chavez, et. al. should just be left alone to impose their left wing, collectivist utopia on us all.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You must mean the dumbest wars we've ever been mired in to date - the Bush wars starting in 2003 which accomplished next to nothing beyond giving us the biggest deficit in our history - oh, and causing deaths in the hundreds of thousands, most of them civilians. But they did succeed in their real goal of transferring billions of tax dollars to private contractors - IDIOT!
@rgs11 To summarize his point: War is the answer if the question is how do you keep our civilized and free society from being destroyed by the backward and brutal Islamic world. You characterize it as 'neocon propaganda'. Does that mean that you disagree with it? If so, why?
@koyunbaba73 Yes, you're following. I think that is WAY oversimplified, racist, elitist, etc. and I certainly disagree that war is the answer in this case. As a fairly dispassionate observer of the conflict ie the (oversimplified) "Clash of Civilizations" I note that many similar claims are made against Israel in that conflict and I note that each side has its fair share of extremists. But the "we've got to kill them b4 they kill us" shit is ignorant, counterproductive and bad for everyone...
@koyunbaba73 Another way to put it would be the "costly lottery" argument. Mathematically, it REALLY (ironically) DOES work out that war "is not the answer", not always of course, like in the unrealistic hypothetical ie the evil Muslims will destroy Western Civ (excuse me while I laugh my ass off). I'm sorry, but if you are losing sleep about this, you REALLY don't want to hear about the SERIOUS THREATS which are actually in the realm of possibility.
@koyunbaba73 And I don't mean "you" personally in that last comment. I should have said "one" or "a person". anyway, that's my opinion, but I thought it was some hilarious, good comedy...
@koyunbaba73 And finally, I'll tell you what really disturbs me about such a rationale is that it's eerily similar to what the Nazi's said about the Jews ie Nazi's believed (at least some of them) that the Jews were going to destroy civilization just like many neocons believe that Muslims are going to destroy civilization so what does "war" mean in this case? What do the neocons propose we do with the Muslims? It's just very disturbing to me.
@rgs11 Your last comment, while certainly provocative, is irrational and libelous. I want to know: What did the nazis say about Jews that is in any way analogous to what conservatives say about Muslims? Which neocons believe that Muslims are going to destroy Western civ? What solutions have 'neocons' come up with to the problem of Islamofascism that are reminiscant of the final solution? Take all the time you need to come up with examples that back up your charge.
@koyunbaba73 Are you kidding, dude? Are you trying to say that Western Media (not just neocons but Western Media in general) doesn't demonize the Arab? If so your bias is blinding you. I would call that irrational.
I asked you, you are a neocon, no?, what the solution was supposed to be? You've, apparently been saying WAR. Take Israel... they DOMINATE the region and yet the WAR continues. When will they decide the WAR has been won? Any more questions?
@rgs11 As far as Israel, its been the stated intention of the Arab world that it must be destroyed. Its mandated by the core tennants of Islam that no Jew must hold the reigns of power. Israel doesnt dominate the Arab world, its the other way around. Its in both the charter of Hamas as well as Fatah that Israel must be destroyed. It was the goal of both the '48 and '67 wars by the Arabs. I think you need a visit from the bumper sticker police. Clearly youve been reading too many of them.
@koyunbaba73 Here, this should simplify things greatly: The average America or Israeli is 4-8 times more likely to be killed in a car-accident than by a terrorist. You see my point. Neocons are inflating the threat and preying on the irrational and fearful mind. Ironically, the neocons may be creating a REAL THREAT with this policy.
Like I said, there are far more frightening things to consider...
@rgs11 In fact, all that really does is mistate the current problem. Its not the terrorists, theyre a minor non-point. What the real issue comes down to is the ideological value system in Islam that mandates that it reign supreme over all non-islamic governments. There are ORDERS of magnitude more people pushing to install the value system of Islam in our daily society than just the terrorists, and they stand a good chance of succeeding. Islam is the greatest threat to freedom ever.
@mysock351W Yeah, fail, dude... Actually I was mostly with you up until "and they stand a good chance of succeeding. Islam is the greatest threat to freedom ever."
@mysock351W Really... more dangerous than socialism??? More dangerous than artilects??? More dangerous than "black-swans" wherever they may be coming from??? More dangerous than technology??? More dangerous than the modern media??? More dangerous than nanotech??? More dangerous advancements in behavior/mind control???
dude, I wish I was as blissfully ignorant as you are... I could keep naming things that are far more realistic and many ORDERS of magnitude more terrifying...
@rgs11 I wish I was as blissfully deluded as you. Must be nice living in fantasy land with all your delusions. I guess it gives a bit of a sense of purpose, no?
@rgs11 Now, while socialism and the current leftist media mindset can be said to be the cause of the gradual decline of western civilization, its Islam itself that is the most immediate threat. Iran is but a few months away from having nukes, and they intend to use them in one way or another. Egypt is on route to being controlled by the muslim brotherhood, which would make it another Iran. Islam represents the greatest existential threat out of all of those that actually exist.
@rgs11 You didn't answer me, and I think that's because you can't answer me. There is no comparison between the nazis' rhetoric about Jews and conservatives' rhetoric about Muslims. There is no comparison between the systematic murder of 6 million Jews and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. There is also no comparison between the threat the Jews posed to Germany and the threat Islam poses to Western civ. You compared the 'neocon' rhetoric with that of Nazi Germany. That is an obscene comparison.
@koyunbaba73 Apparently you're unaware of your several assumptions. First, you're assuming (erroneously, naively, ignorantly) that Muslim constitutes a existential threat to Western Civ which is laughable.
As you correctly point out, I compared the neocon rhetoric with the Nazi but that is the only comparison that I made. I DID NOT make a comparison between the actions of Israel or neocons to the final solution. I'm sorry, but if you fail to see the similarities in rhetoric, I cannot help u.
@koyunbaba73 Nazis propaganda and beliefs tried to dehumanize Jewish people. How can you not see that Neocon propaganda and beliefs dehumanize/demonize Arabic people? You cannot see this because you ACTUALLY BELIEVE that they are a lower or more primitive species. You're just saying that the neocons are right about the Arabs while the Nazis were wrong about the Jews. Well, naturally, this is racist and ignorant. Most importantly, like the Nazi, you say the only solution is to "kill them first"
@rgs11 You're starting to unravel. Your comment is so hysterical and ridiculous that it would be funny if it weren't so obscene. Come back to Earth for a minute. You still haven't answered by question. I will ask you ONE LAST TIME: Give me an example of something any conservative politician said about Muslims that is even remotely similar to what the nazis said about Jews. If you can't give any examples, then you are a liar and a fraud. Back up your charge or admit you lied.
@rgs11 I was just showing someone this dialogue. I showed him how I repeatedly asked you to back up your libel with examples and how you got progressively more hysterical. After my last and final request to you to back up your libel, he and I were talking about what your next response would be. He said that you would do what all Leftists do when they're defeated-call me an idiot. I said you would just not comment again. He was right. To say you are a pathetic liar is an insult to pathetic liars.
I can see though that there are a lot of fans and apologists who will jump on and downvote anyone who tries to raise an objection, so I won't bother.
I would like to say that that I imagine that most people who wish for no war is because they simply want a peaceful world. They wish that people could be better than what they are, as shown in the comments here.
My question is why don't we have a UN that's strong enough to stop ANY regime that feels it has the right to do harm anyone else.
Also, I don't know where you get the "If your against war, then your disrespecting the troops that are there now". That's retarded, These poor young men are being forced to hurt people and that the vast majority of them disagree with it after they return from service. They are being fooled just as much as the rest of us except their being killed for it.
@NeilCrouse You're the type who hates America for bombing Japan, but doesn't talk of Japans use of civilian Okinawans as human bullet shields to cover their charges. I veiw our soldiers as I saw them in an old vid from Okinawan battle footage. A charge of Japanese was stopped that had used a civilian wave, an American soldier knelt down to a shaking half clothed Okinawan baby and gave her a sip of water from his canteen. That is the way a US Soldier deals with the hell of war. Not you Lib!!
@NeilCrouse Well I know that you like to spout simplistic bull sh**, like that soldiers are just duped to go to places to hurt people. Not like they have gone to stop regimes that were bent on world domination and mass genocide, or to depose regimes that support terrorist groups that killed nearly 3000 of your countrymen on 9/11. Yeah...We saw the blessings of Liberal do nothing pacifist policy when Clinton and the UN pulled out Rwanda. It was a mountain of Macheted child Tutsi corpses.
ah well, while i believe the is a a time for war , it should be done in accordance with your charter, in this case the constitution ( it goes kinda like this , the prez ask congress to declare war, and if they do, we whip the holy shite out of them until they say uncle, then we hang all their leaders and then come home )

@MetalSights We've got an enormous base in Iraq now that will have to be paid for, staffed, etc. No end in sight in Iraq. I think that saying things are better there is a stretch. But I don't know. I do maintain that Klavan's view of this culture and the reality are two very different things.
drumrnva 5 days ago
@drumrnva Iraq (and pakistan and many other places) has been infected with the disease of a twisted version of Islam, and it's very hard to get rid of something that makes a human being so insane as to kill himself and others in the name of faith.
MetalSights 5 days ago 2
@MetalSights Iraq was one of the most secular nations in the Mideast before the war in 2003, with almost zero suicide bombings. Just sayin'. If a bunch of Muslims invaded the US tomorrow, killing scores of thousands, taking over the government, commerce, military, etc-- you'd see some American suicide bombers.
drumrnva 5 days ago
@drumrnva That's a pretty big claim since you can't really back it up. I certainly do not have the balls to strap explosives to myself and run into a hospital, and no-one else I know would either.
I wouldn't mind if they were attacking Americans. They can personally justify that because they seem us as invaders. I do have a serious problem with them slaughtering civilians and police officers for no reason, which happens literally daily.
"almost zero" means there was and still is an issue.
MetalSights 5 days ago
@drumrnva Yesterday, almost 30 Iraqi police officers were massacred. For what? Because the Americans are there they killed their own countrymen who are there to protect them?
MetalSights 5 days ago
@MetalSights No, they're killing each other because they have political differences. They are operating in a political dead zone which is neither Sadam's iron fist nor a democracy in any real sense. Those factions have always hated each other and now each one fights for primacy. They're not "mindless". They have political ends in mind.
drumrnva 5 days ago
@drumrnva That licenses them to kill innocent people who could not care less about either, opinion and political difference?
I can easily bring up thousands of incidents of civilians dying for no reason other than simple, mindless terrorism/religiously fueled killings.
MetalSights 4 days ago
@MetalSights OK. But this violence wasn't happening before the US-led invasion removed the structure/gov't. It's our mess now. Lots of people foresaw it before the war. Let's ask each other in 5, 10 years if it was worth it. I can't see how it could ever be, but maybe I'm wrong. I maintain that the war in Iraq is not the act of a country/culture that can call itself civilized.
drumrnva 4 days ago
@drumrnva And again, in place of that, what if Saddam had been allowed to rule the next 10, 20 years?
Not any war is civilized....
MetalSights 4 days ago
@MetalSights I don't know. That is too much speculation for me. I never claimed that war is civilized. Attacking a country which was not a threat to us is not just uncivilized. It's brutal. It's also quite profitable for some folks. I guess it was just the next thing on the agenda. I have no illusions that war isn't necessary. But I don't buy into the flowery patriotic language. America's not all good or all bad.
drumrnva 4 days ago
@drumrnva I'm " just sayin' ". They're not even fighting for anything. They're just mindlessly killing their OWN people for whatever they deem.
MetalSights 5 days ago
@drumrnva 18,000 people is a terrible toll, and personally 18,000 people too high...
What if Saddam had been allowed to continue his reign for the past 10 years?
MetalSights 6 days ago
@drumrnva but you are ok with sadam killing 500k a year? how uncivilized of you.
origionalwinja 6 days ago
@origionalwinja Folks, the notion that Sadam killed or would have killed 500k/yr is pure speculation. And I will only accept your "acceptable number of casualties" argument if you will say that it would have been acceptable if you or someone you care about had been one of the casualties. "Extremely small price to pay"? The violence in Iraq continues, and the invading allies lost a lot of people. At what number does the price become too much?

brianbrigg57 3 weeks ago
@brianbrigg57 There is no real evidence that Bin Laden was behind 9/11. The attacks were just an excuse for Bush to go to war. Look up Bin Laden's FBI most wanted page and see what he's wanted for if you don't believe me. And take into consideration the fabricated and illegitimate reasons for going to war with Iraq. It's obvious what the past administration's objective was. These two wars have ensured that we will continue to have terrorists in the Middle East for a long time.
ev1ls0da 3 weeks ago
@ev1ls0da You're absolutely right. Other than the money men and recruiters all worked for Al Qaeda as well as the admission by Bin Laden himself we have absolutely no evidence whatsoever. As for the rest of your delusions see a shrink, YouTube won't help you to deal with them.
brianbrigg57 3 weeks ago
@brianbrigg57 Bin Laden "confessed" just to gain support from those who have been disenfranchised by our invading their homeland. These people don't really understand why we are there, and when Bin Laden offers them explanations and makes it seem as though he's on their side. We gave the terrorist organizations more power by these wars. This is exactly what Bin Laden wanted. as for the hijackers themselves, they weren't even from the region we are attacking. Why are we there?
ev1ls0da 3 weeks ago
@ev1ls0da You seem to be having a major cognitive dysfunction re chronology.
First 9.11
Second invasion of Afghanistan
Third Invasion of Iraq
Prior to 9.11 there had already been several attempts at taking down the twin towers. The jihadists and their ilk claim to have been teed off about Palestine but that is just a convenient excuse. it all come down to the indisputable fact that everywhere in the world Islam has always had bloody borders. Global air travel has just expanded them.
brianbrigg57 3 weeks ago
@brianbrigg57 That wasn't the point. These people weren't from Afghanistan. Most of them were from Saudi Arabia. The money came from the United Arab Emirates. The planning happened in Germany. Why aren't we invading these countries? Being in Afghanistan is a waste of time, money, and human lives AND is giving the terrorist organizations more power. We are accomplishing nothing. You can save the insults, they will get you no where with me.

The Taliban in Afghanistan gave safe harbor to terrorists and paid the price. AQ's command and control was operating from there. You measure success by the results. How many succesful attacks have there been since?
brianbrigg57 3 weeks ago
@brianbrigg57 Are you serious? You just illustrated my point. We don't have real evidence that Bin laden did. Those who attacked weren't from Afghanistan.
Your point. Well, we should invade afghanistan anyways because they're hiding bin laden. REALLY? You don't get that? How many successful attacks were there before?
And. How many close attempts have we had since? e.g., bomb in Time Square, did you forget about that already?

If Allied countries had gone any longer without declaring war on Germany we may well be under fascist rule. rgs11 7 months ago
@rgs11 Would you care to explain what that comment means?
koyunbaba73 7 months ago
@koyunbaba73 What he says around 1:25 is classic neocon worldview/propaganda...
rgs11 7 months ago
@rgs11 To summarize his point: War is the answer if the question is how do you keep our civilized and free society from being destroyed by the backward and brutal Islamic world. You characterize it as 'neocon propaganda'. Does that mean that you disagree with it? If so, why?
koyunbaba73 7 months ago
@koyunbaba73 Yes, you're following. I think that is WAY oversimplified, racist, elitist, etc. and I certainly disagree that war is the answer in this case. As a fairly dispassionate observer of the conflict ie the (oversimplified) "Clash of Civilizations" I note that many similar claims are made against Israel in that conflict and I note that each side has its fair share of extremists. But the "we've got to kill them b4 they kill us" shit is ignorant, counterproductive and bad for everyone...
rgs11 7 months ago
@koyunbaba73 Another way to put it would be the "costly lottery" argument. Mathematically, it REALLY (ironically) DOES work out that war "is not the answer", not always of course, like in the unrealistic hypothetical ie the evil Muslims will destroy Western Civ (excuse me while I laugh my ass off). I'm sorry, but if you are losing sleep about this, you REALLY don't want to hear about the SERIOUS THREATS which are actually in the realm of possibility.
rgs11 7 months ago
@koyunbaba73 And I don't mean "you" personally in that last comment. I should have said "one" or "a person". anyway, that's my opinion, but I thought it was some hilarious, good comedy...
rgs11 7 months ago
@koyunbaba73 And finally, I'll tell you what really disturbs me about such a rationale is that it's eerily similar to what the Nazi's said about the Jews ie Nazi's believed (at least some of them) that the Jews were going to destroy civilization just like many neocons believe that Muslims are going to destroy civilization so what does "war" mean in this case? What do the neocons propose we do with the Muslims? It's just very disturbing to me.
rgs11 7 months ago
@rgs11 Your last comment, while certainly provocative, is irrational and libelous. I want to know: What did the nazis say about Jews that is in any way analogous to what conservatives say about Muslims? Which neocons believe that Muslims are going to destroy Western civ? What solutions have 'neocons' come up with to the problem of Islamofascism that are reminiscant of the final solution? Take all the time you need to come up with examples that back up your charge.
koyunbaba73 7 months ago

Like I said, there are far more frightening things to consider...
rgs11 7 months ago

That's hilarious, seriously. x)

I guess it gives a bit of a sense of purpose, no?
mysock351W 7 months ago

That is an obscene comparison.
koyunbaba73 7 months ago

Most importantly, like the Nazi, you say the only solution is to "kill them first"
rgs11 7 months ago
@rgs11 You're starting to unravel. Your comment is so hysterical and ridiculous that it would be funny if it weren't so obscene. Come back to Earth for a minute. You still haven't answered by question. I will ask you ONE LAST TIME: Give me an example of something any conservative politician said about Muslims that is even remotely similar to what the nazis said about Jews. If you can't give any examples, then you are a liar and a fraud. Back up your charge or admit you lied.

@koyunbaba73 You make me laugh, idiot... x)

I was hoping to be entertained, but I wasn't.

@CyberSpaceman81 YOU DON'T FUCKING KNOW ME AT ALL GOOF, DON'T PRETEND YOU DO
NeilCrouse 7 months ago
@NeilCrouse Well I know that you like to spout simplistic bull sh**, like that soldiers are just duped to go to places to hurt people. Not like they have gone to stop regimes that were bent on world domination and mass genocide, or to depose regimes that support terrorist groups that killed nearly 3000 of your countrymen on 9/11. Yeah...We saw the blessings of Liberal do nothing pacifist policy when Clinton and the UN pulled out Rwanda. It was a mountain of Macheted child Tutsi corpses.
