  • @zannazbanana Wow, this tribute is so beautiful.... I'm totally gobsmacked by your work. So incredibly emotional and full of love! I'm making a tribute to Karen at the moment, probably the first of many. There are so many takes one can have on making a video about Karen and you've struck the most amazing combination of sadness and hope at the same time. I'll be uploading my tribute to Karen in the next day or so. I've tried to keep it hopeful! I'd greatly appreciate your advice and opinion!

  • @sraphael Aw, thanks for saying all of that! I would love to give you some advice. Message me your link when you finish :)

  • @zannazbanana Hi again! It took me a while to finish, but my tribute video to Karen is now done and uploaded :) Let me know what you think! I think I'll try to get the quality of the image a bit better, but apart from that, I'm quite happy with it!

  • How beautiful, talented, funny, smart, and of course her voice!!! :D This is a great clip and I have seen a few pics I have never seen before. Richard and Karen sure made a great team. Karen lives in my heart wherever I go. I am the one singing her songs as I walk or in the stores. So, if you see me sing her music :) say hi :) thanks so much for sharing! Her music will go on and my son who is 22 likes the Carpenters :D guess who started him at the early age? :D :D

  • @karinkeene2009 I'm 23 and I love them! Great that your son inherited your great taste in music! Glad you liked the video. I'm excited about getting to hear Karen's christmas songs on the radio soon!

  • Just found this and loved it. I remember where and what i was doing when it was announced Karen had died. Miss her so much. Often wonder what she could have achieved if she had lived. Her voice was bewitching and i have a carpenters cd playing in my car and singing along most days. Thank you.

  • ya Wish that Karen had never said goodbye!!!!!Thkz 4 uploading this video!!

  • Beautifully done. And to think those clips were from just 12 years of her too short life. She did a lot of living.

  • you dont tribute singers with other voices they are their own

  • I'm not Karen, but she was one of my idols and oddly enough, when I sing, sometimes people think it's one of her recordings...hope you enjoy my tunes of hers:

  • MY GOD! "EYE" JUST CRY, AND "EYE" MISS HER SO MUCH! 5

  • Thank you Father for the gift of Karen.

  • WTF,this is not BARBARA!

  • @nicenonya3 Yes, the singer is Barbra. It's a tribute video to Karen Carpenter with Barbra Streisand's vocals.

  • @nicenonya3 It's fitting that it's Barbra singing to a Karen Carpenter tribute video- Karen was a HUGE Streisand fan, and Barbra told Karen she had a "marvelous instrument."

  • Ned Nickerson's still video for Karen was great, but this tribute... using Bab's (that's Barbra S. to those of you under 30!) song just goes over the top and will make anyone who remember's Karen and Richard misty eyed for sure! Mr. Alpert must have been so proud of his decision to give the two another shot, when his people told him to 'let them go'! Almost shades of Decca records for A&M! (They passed on the Beatles!) Beautiful tribute... Karen lives! (Thanks for reminding us!)

  • @greybyrd2 Thanks for watching. Karen was a beautiful woman and singer and I tried to do her justice.

  • @greybyrd2 Thanks for watching. Karen was a beautiful woman and singer and I tried to do her justice.

  • Beautiful video, a touching tribute- and it's so nice to see clips of Karen looking happy.

  • I am just so wondering, why did she have to mess with her looks she was perfect! Karen Carpenter had it all, looks, multi talented, personality, humor, humbleness, class.

It's really sad. Karen you are missed, even now. You were from my era and you still touch the hearts of this era that needs entertainers like you.

  • @CHM4690 Yes, it will! Kare was one of a kind.

  • what a shit

  • @eatingutube kindly keep your negative comments to yourself, or don't watch. i don't care if you don't like it, but you don't have to be rude.

  • @eatingutube You are EXTREMELY RUDE....how dare you ...

  • @eatingutube RUDE!

  • This is REALLY great film editing! Thank you!

  • @chenarch Thanks! I'm studying film, so I like to play around with editing footage like this for fun! And I love Karen :)

  • If I close my eyes and just listen...she is really here. She has never really gone.

Karen, you taught me so much. Including the will to live. You are forever missed, but I know your just up ahead, just around the bend I cannot see right now. Keep shining. Shine On My Friend.

  • Lovely tribute to a lovely Karen Carpenter! How I miss her!

  • @swk56 Thank you! Glad you liked it! Karen will always be missed! <3

  • Still can't even hear Karen's name, let alone listen to her voice, without the tears starting to flow. She is, and was, an angel, and was taken from us much too soon.

  • Uff, Barbra always spoil the party. We don't need THIS.

Barbra was so boring, exactly the opposite of Karen, this video is the proof of it. Beautiful images, very well done.

    At 1:11-1:22 I'm in love!!!!

  • Almost 50 years around and boring? Maybe for you but not for millions. She is without a doubt the most complete artist of several generations if not in history.

  • @UnLoKoDesnudo Barbra es tremendamente aburrida. Su música es buena para dormir culebras.

  • Great job Anna!

I loved it...you really captured her wonderful personality! - Tess

  • Hi Tess!! Lol thanks, I tried :P

  • Oh my God.......I love u KC:( the world truly misse you!

  • yrbabuena is a judgmental, rude, and deranged hippy lady

  • I think everyone needs to just stop attacking one another. It's all about Karen and her music. As her fans the least we can do it honor her memory proudly, not by insulting one another.

  • You might want to read my comment again. It wasn't judgmental or rude, and it certainly wasn't "deranged." How about my very next sentence, "What a great singer she was, and such a shame that she tortured herself to death." You tell me to "stop criticizing women's weight and bodies" but you don't know me well enough to determine that I have any history of doing such criticism.

  • Nice job on the footage of the Carpenters, and song background!

  • What an aching loss I feel ! Beautiful footage, thanks!

  • That was so beautiful, I actually cried while I watched it. Karen Carpenter is the best female singer ever, I wish she was alive today, we need to hear her beautiful voice again, the music of today, is so negative, and we need the love and happiness of Karen's voice, the singers of today dont have the magic she did! I cant wait to meet Karen in heaven. LOVE YOU KAREN!

  • I quite agree with you; Karen had a type of magic that not many can compete with. I'm so glad you liked it

  • @maleficentdiva

I found myself in tears, too. They came on rather unexpectedly so I surprised myself! I love the timeless music of the Carpenters. The first time I ever heard "We've Only Just Begun" it was featured in a tv commercial for Crocker (?) Bank...which was a pretty well-done ad showing a newly married couple then progressing to make their future dreams come true, etc. I might have been 5 yrs old, lol. In grade school "Sing" was a song we did for chorus. Love those Carpenters forever.

  • Thanks everyone for watching! Karen was a lovely lady and I'm proud to honor her :)

  • Karen would be grateful for the beautiful tribute.

    Congratulations.

    Greetings from Brazil.

    Copaseagull.

  • What a work of love--a stunning compilation. The last few seconds of the video gave me shivers. Thank you for sharing this exquisite tribute to an angel in our presence.

  • Dear Karen certainly looked skinny at 3:12, but other than that, she was a pretty hippy lady. What a great singer she was, and such a shame that she tortured herself to death. As for the video, you did a great job of matching the rhythm and spirit of the video to the audio. My, what a loud soundtrack, though! =)

  • A very tasteful video!

I usually don't enjoy so much pictures running

with a song glued on top.

But this one is different. Done with feelings, understanding

and carefully editing, to make it all fit.

A great honor to Karen it is!

  • Thanks :) I'm glad you enjoyed it! I spent a lot of time on that one

  • good video

  • Thanks!

  • all that being said on my last posting.. I have added this to my "favorites". you did a GREAT JOB! I got chills..

  • Thanks so much! I do like Babs, but Karen is definitely my favorite of the two, by far :)

The next video I'll make won't have her vocals haha. I just thought that the lyrics of the song were very appropriate for Karen. Glad you liked it!!

  • The videos are amazing. Some I've never seen. (where did you get them all?).. you concept for posting..amazing.. however, not sure how I feel having "BAB's" vocals on a KAREN video.

  • Oh, and to answer your question, I got most of the videos online at various places. I've been collecting them :)

  • Espetacular. Que saudade! Abraço, Edu

  • Glad you liked it! thanks!

  • Do you understand Portuguese?

  • Afraid I don't. I understand French and a little bit of Spanish, but no Portuguese :)

  • But...we both have google translator!!

    Tchau!

    Edu

  • Bravo!!!

  • Thanks!! :)

  • That was just the best=) Thank You!

  • Thank you!! :D

  • Thank you for posting.I loved Karen and when she died I suffered my first great loss.

That was the first and only time I became very upset when someone died that I didn't know.

    Her voice will live forever.

    Mark x

  • Thanks Mark, glad you liked it. She really was an amazing woman, and so talented. Sad to think about what she could have done if she'd lived

  • Wow, Anna! That was fascinating! I love it! Karen would be very pleased with this tribute you've made. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks so much! It means a lot :)

  • Very nice tribute. My to FAVORITE singers. Both can blow oout speakers with their voices. Was remembering Karen this morning on the aniversary of her death and watching videos with my 9 year old daughter before she left for school. She loves carpenters Jambalaya on the Bayou, and Please Mr. Postman. Turning on a new generation of fans here. Wish she could have been here longer to make more beautiful music.

  • I agree with you, Karen and Barbra are both wonderful singers. My two favorite as well :)

I'm glad your daughter likes the Carpenters. (I love both of those songs too! :D )I'm only 20 myself but I've realized that there are a lot of younger fans out there. Makes me happy to know that even though Karen's no longer with us, she is still leaving a legacy.

Glad you liked it, and thanks for watching!

  • im only 17 and i have every song they've ever released on itunes!

  • i've got pretty much all of them as well! and i've started collecting their records too :D

  • Barbra had a great admiration for Karen

Carpenter. She was very saddened by

Karen's early passing. Barbra recorded one of Karen Carpenter's big hit SING

for a TV special. She sang the song very well. But she did not include it in the LP,

nor released it as a single, perhaps not

    to compete with Karen.

I suppose they knew each other socially.

  • I knew that Barbra thought very highly of Karen, but I didn't know that she recorded "Sing."

Karen was also a fan of Barbra. Two wonderful and talented women. They both had lovely voices.
