  • Dear god im in love with this song. Its soo good thank you radiohead

  • I buy the songs to support the artists so should everyone

  • The chord progression at 1:37 makes me weak... 2:07 gives me power ... Then I strut and loose it in a daze ...

  • beautiful

  • As for ways to fresh artists start their careers, my opinion is that major record labels are obsolete. Artist have access to labels and distros completely based on do-it-youtself platforms. It takes time and dedication, but they'll earn even more respect from the fans and they will not be chained by contracts. Surprisingly (or maybe not), musicians are able to make real profit out of their onstage performances and the merchandizing they come up with.

  • This song rocks!

  • As for the idjit calling me an hypocrite for giving youtube a chance to make a profit out of artists work by watching this video, start using your head, if you happen to have one.

Youtube's original source of sustainability and/or profit was advertising. I'm totally OK with videos being surrounded by ad banners. I don't like when they pop up before or during the video though. Who do you think is to blame for the massive increase in youtube's advertising spots? Major record labels I would say.

  • How can anyone even say that piracy is to blame for the mainstreem music being, as of nowadays, of a constant genre?

Lets just think... there's a reason I didn't call it crappy music, which I would if I didn't recognise there are legitimate jewels in nowadays pop music. They're just overrepeated, obliterating other genres and making themselves boring and seemingly crappy. Who's to blame? Major record labels I would say.

  • I think we'd all like to forget the Radiohead Greatest hits album. Fucking half the bends was on that thing.

  • @ymechaie Yeah, Radiohead never sanctioned the album either. Didnt get a choice about what went on it. Im not going to buy the GH album ever.

  • @ymechaie LOL hahahaha :D

  • I expect that after another two or three albums, perhaps four, the band might retire. Albums like this are those things that late, our children think of to be old or not interesting, but feel fresh and full of quality to us. The saddening thing is that the course music is taking is what most of us might not even consider music. People such as Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, and Jay-Z are conquering today's people. We should feel lucky that we still have Radiohead.

  • I don't understand how The King of Limbs seems to receive so much hatred. Every Radiohead album is unique, and every song they make is another masterpiece. Yet, Radiohead can put the same touch of quality in everything they do.

In Rainbows was by many considered the best album from Radiohead, and I agree on this. And the good thing is, they continued to put such effort into this album. Good Morning Mr. Magpie, Give Up the Ghost, Lotus Flower, and Codex are all some of my absolute favourites.

  • Why would radiohead support the internet when the base of their profits are sucked into the abyss by torrent websites that have their entire discography available?

  • @mackles Cause they have enough money! And they're not greedy bastards, they're in it for the the music.

  • So I said

    Charles, don't you ever crave

To appear on the front of The Daily Mail

Dressed in your mother's bridal veil

  • @LiverAcid Those guys need to seriously put their problems aside and get back together and do some gigs. I won't hold my breath though.

  • @ucfknightsjay I agree. I think it's going to happen within the next 5 years.

  • God, I love this song. This is wonderful. Kind of hearkens back to OK Computer, from my perspective.

I personally don't think it should have been on TKOL, though. I like to think of Radiohead albums as narratives, or paintings, and this song (in my opinion) doesn't really reflect the one developed by TKOL. I love this song and TKOL, but I don't think Radiohead songs need to be on an album to be amazingly wonderful.

  • I fucking love this song. . . God. Pretty reminiscent of The Bends/OK Computer era Radiohead. But I personally don't think that this should have been on TKOL. I like to think of Radiohead albums as narratives or paintings, and personally this doesn't really go along with the one developed in TKOL. I still love it, though; Radiohead's songs don't need to be on an album to be absolutely beautiful and amazing.

  • wow, i hate how people always say 'ohh daily mail and supercollider should have been on TKOL'.. no, where on that album would those songs fit?! it would not work.

  • Can we talk about media information in terms of reading most types of newspapers?

If you're not going to connect with that don't even bother listening.

  • this should have been on the Kings of Limbs, you know, so the album wouldnt be as crapy

  • If The Daily Mail, Staircase, The Butcher, and Supercolider had found their way onto The King Of Limbs it would have been one of Radiohead's greatest albums...still great though. :)

  • holy shit this is beautiful.

  • wow

  • Best song of the year.

  • Oh fucking hell, this is amazing.

  • Why was this not on The king of Limbs???

  • Comment removed

  • I fucking love this song.

  • O my God this is precious.

  • do you want collaborate with me?

  • also, the music industry is not ruined, it's just different. not seeing that the world has changed is a sign of blindness. it's the old economy trying to make a stand in a world it doesn't belong to anymore.

  • you guys are missing the point. with acts like sopa, pipa, acta and other, websites like youtube would never exist in the first place. most of the commodities everyone is used to is based on a "free" internet. that's not to say "free" as in "you don't need to pay money for anything", but "free" as in "liberty". our lives are controlled and thought by someone else and the internet was a breath of fresh air that they're trying to control too.

  • I think you're missing something danielbsnake72. Artists are free. It's the artists that choose to make a business of themselves that are stuck. Creating a beautiful song is difficult; but when you do, how do you get people to hear it? That's where the record companies come in. They get your voice out, but they own your voice. Legally, this makes sense. Morally, not at all. Radiohead is a perfect example of overcoming this, which can be done be anyone amazing enough. Good thing RH has money.

  • me gutsa la atmosfera renacentista,,,

  • Sounds like a 21st cent. Beatles song that gets as heavy as Zep...and from the same sessions so it's part of TKOL...again thanks guys, for following your hearts, never caving in, and the fairly ridiculous storehouse of talent you share with us, what you consider your worst material is still better than anything else out there, please hang in, it matters to so many people, heals broken hearts and mends scarred psyches...remember Thom, keep dancing...

  • True story: My sister knows Creep, maybe a couple of other songs...I on the other hand waited 3 days and nights in the rain for front row seats at Beacon Theatre, 03..am completely devoted and always floored.I get TKOL, give it to her, she's afraid to see them now, doesn't want to go to an 'electronica show"..I try to explain RH are never stuck in the same bag next day, but it doesn't matter...now I can play her THIS FUCKING AMAZING SONG, a song that could have could have been on Bends, TYRH

  • 29 people didn't receive their daily mail.

  • here it goes mine too! :)

    (y)

  • Here it goes my thumb!!!!!!

  • clearly one of the most artistic bands in history...their music emulates masterful paintings of unproportioned and unequal dimensions...kinda like michelangelo.

  • love Radiohead, this one far too depressing for me

  • But the singer of Radiohead (Thom Yorke) is god... And Radiohead is Jesus.

  • PLEASE gods! make the members of this band...IMMORTAL!!

  • Thom Yorke has found the perfect melody and lyrics to compliment his voice.

From the begining to the end, its the work of a genius.

  • Is there a bad Radiohead song? Nope.

  • @earduser123 For the record, I LOVE Radiohead, they're one of my favourite bands, I have all their albums, one of which is my favourite album ever. But comments like this are a tiny bit naive, mate.

Anyone Can Play Guitar = wanky around the edges

    Prove Yourself = pretty naff

Pop Is Dead = so rubbishy that Radiohead disowned it

    Morning Bell/Amnesiac = bit gash

Sail To The Moon = a rehash of Pyramid Song

    Backdrifts = a bit wanky

    Scatterbrain = kinda forgettable

    The Gloaming = missed opportunity

  • @earduser123 Oh yes there is, but this certainly is NOT one of them!

  • This is better than anything on The King of Limbs.

  • @PantheonLincoln yes, but KOL is still amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Radiohead, you are the best band ever. I'm nearly 16, and I first heard your music several months ago. How I had not heard it before, I have no idea, but you are my new favorite band. And this is coming from someone who loves metal of just about any kind.

  • And so, here's my request to RADIOHEAD.

You are a well known band, with certified quality and with loyal fans all over the world. You are well related, I think, with many other good artists. Therefore I urge that you start the uprise against the criminals from the record companies. The ones that made profits from your work... even without your authorization (remember Greatest Hits?).

ACTA and her sisters must die. Internet should remain free. Artists should be free.

    Thank you for reading.

  • @danielbsnake72 You realize you are defending what ruined the music business in the first place? Illegal downloading of music hurts record labels, but hurts artists even more. The music industry is harder than ever to break into and make a profit in, and that's because of people who feel entitled to all the free music they want.

You complain that record companies "steal" profits form artist's work, yet you are letting youtube make profits from Radiohead by watching this video. hypocrisy.

  • @TrippyMcgee22 Radiohead made 15,000 from youtube for lotus flower, and 22,000 for creep.

  • @GidgitDijit whats your source? just interested

  • @GidgitDijit I have no idea where are you getting this information, but try to calculate how much money youtube makes off of that, because it isn't a lot. If some sort of internet censorship bill were to pass then artists would be making ALL the money they deserve. If you love music, you should hate piracy, and you should hate the internet in it's current state. The best option is easy, buying music straight from the artist's website where no one but the artist gets a cut.

  • @TrippyMcgee22 If sopa were to be passed this song here wouldnt even exist.

  • @GidgitDijit Radiohead's independent now...and they chose to upload this...so yes it would be.

  • @GidgitDijit god forbid we should have to buy the song or album to listen to it.

  • @danielbsnake72 all well and good, but near impossible for a band to fund production of their own music let alone get discovered without the aid of a record company. Radiohead were only able to free themselves from their record lable once their contract was over and they were well established and wealthy enough to be able to produce music independently.

  • @mrmooz not nowadays though. look at the weeknd for a perfect example

  • Yes! Artist have the power of the initiative! I believe that they have the power to save the internet!

They owe it to the internet! Do you think that people who can only spare a few coins at the end of the month would use that money to buy a record, a new book, a DVD, a ticket to the cinema, etc... Do you think that they would do that if it wasn't for free internet sharing? Thanks to the internet, artists now have wonderful means to promote themselves!

    (continues in the next comment)

  • That is exactly why I think that record companies SHOULD "be in jail". I have the knowledge that, here in my country, Portugal, record companies make slaves out of artists, specially young ones. They get a tiny % of the profit from THEIR creative work!

There are many protests scheduled against anti-piracy law, common people are attending to those protest. It will not work. It will never work. The one's who must uprise are the artists themselves!

    (continues in the next comment)

  • @danielbsnake72 Sweet, dude you got both top comments :)

  • @danielbsnake72, dude, you have soooo many comments on this page, make them shorter, so I can read them all, haha

  • @15381472 I think he's trying to say something important...I think...if you dont care...well thats your problem

  • Hello everyone.

I am here to make a request to the awesome band that RADIOHEAD is. I hope this message gets to them and I hope that fellow youtube users that know other well known artist who may share part of RADIOHEAD's situation also share this message with.

First of all, I must say I am all against using someone else's creative work for personal monetary profit. To me, that's real piracy and it is correct that it is a crime.

    (continues in the next comment)

  • Radiohead is the original, and Coldplay is derivative.

  • @tellygz Radiohead is Radiohead. and Coldplay is their own thing. Nobody is ripping anyone off

  • excellent music is excellent.

  • This makes me think of the early energy before they were abducted by aliens :-) Love it

  • long live Radiohead, the greatest band of all time.

  • Dislikes by, Miley Cyrus, and Muse :L. The Jelous Pigs

  • my soul melted, my ears happy, hart crying

  • would you do an album with me?

  • I cried..... that's normal right?

  • im in aww when i listen to radiohead

  • 28 people read the daily mail:)

  • I FEEL ALIVE

  • I started listening to Coldplay before Radiohead, shortly after Coldplay released their first album. Yeah, if you have to compare, this does sound kinda similar to Coldplay's OLDER work, like from their first album, maybe their 2nd album. However as a fan I have been quite disappointed with Coldplay's recent work, I think they've crossed too far over into poppy, generic mainstream music, it just bores me. Radiohead continues to put out consistently good music and has yet to disappoint me.

  • @Chickengirl005 Coldplay's "older work" is influenced by Radiohead's early sound. This song takes obvious influence from the sound they already created in the past with a touch of "You & Whose Army." Radiohead have many influences but they are certainly not influenced by someone who came after them.

  • @Chickengirl005 It is actually Coldplay who where influenced by Radiohead's earlier work, this song plays heavily on powerful piano chords, something Radiohead have used to great effect and something Thom used to magnificent effect in 'The Eraser' (be it he nicked Greenwoods chords haha!). Going around saying Radiohead are being influenced by coldplay (aside from getting you shot) is a bit of an epic sweeping statement, if you knew radiohead and you followed Thom... You'd know.

  • @Foxzorz lol, ever noticed when you browse Radiohead's videos on youtube, you get well thought out, informed comments like yours, but when you browse other video's, even if you like them, the comments are often inarticulate, meme spouting garbage? Unrelated from what you said, but you just really reminded me of that. Thank you for making the internet a better place with your unbiased comment.

  • @Chickengirl005 Coldplays sound was for big parts taken from Radioheads OK Computer, then they became shit.

  • I am soo happy you're coming to Tampa thank you Thom we love you guys!

  • Anyway, enough of the verbal fisticuffs, I love this song.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but this song kinda reminds me off "You and Whose Army." I mean that in a good way

  • AMAZING

  • This reminds me alot of You and Whose Army

  • fuck the daily mail

  • talk about the fukin song, that piano transition is fucking ace

  • @LiverAcid Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @LiverAcid You were funnier without the long-winded essays.

  • @LiverAcid It's okay sunshine, I understand. I love you too.

  • @LiverAcid Whereas that response on the other hand was just comedy gold.

  • @LiverAcid You're a funny angry little person. I like talking to you.

  • @LiverAcid Presuming this is a human I'm speaking to.

  • my.... god.

  • *sniffs* I smell an amazing new album.

  • Could we please stop comparing God and Thom Yorke, I mean he's a great guy and really amazing and all but he's just not Thom Yorke.

  • @UuDonKnowMe absolutely the best yt comment i've ever seen.

  • @hub1971

    Please, it's everywhere. I bet there's even one in a Coldplay's video.

  • @UuDonKnowMe

Ironically, comparing them is exactly what you did.

  • @UuDonKnowMe Heard the same joke about Matt Bellamy . Epic musicians are EPIC :D

  • @UuDonKnowMe

OMGLOLSOFUNNEHOMG WHY ARWYOUSOFUNNYJESUS HAHA I DIDNT SEETHATONECOMIGNATALL

  • @UuDonKnowMe This!!!

  • I was trying to bring up the subject of the song... "The Daily Mail" it's a greivous horrible newspaper in the UK which is part of a ruthless media empire. "If you buy a newspaper you are probably or likely funding bad behaviour en masse." Which is the truth, our media/information flow is culprit and to demonstrate this in the modern age, we should only start thinking for ourselves instead of letting people like Rupert Murdoch rule.

  • @the0squarefish Learn somethin new every day, I'm from Canada, but I did hear about the whole phone tracking scandal with him, did he face and serious repricussions?

  • @the0squarefish Murdoch doesn't own the daily mail.

  • COLDPLAY IS AMAZING!!!

BUT OF COURSE, RADIOHEAD ARE THE MASTERS... SO YO MOTHERFUCKING RADIOHEAD "FANS" JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY THIS MASTERPIECE!!!

    FUCK YEAH!!!

  • i love this song so much *nut*

  • @RichardBrehme you're either foreign or foolish or both

  • radiohead fans really need to just die

  • @simplelife88393 they'll die, but other fans will pop up. u can't stop it >:D

  • this song proves that if they try, radiohead can release an album better than ok comp. or even KID A.. old school shit. amazing tune.

    and yeh coldplay suck.

  • @adamgergich96 Simple rock songs don't make a great album, when they come from radiohead they're simply the sorbet between 2 obscure courses you shouldn't enjoy, but do for inexplicable reasons

  • Isn't this tune about the news media group called "The Daily Mail" in the UK?

  • outstanding<3

  • i like coldplay

    i like radiohead

    SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • codlplay, take notes.

  • I love Radiohead so much, but i thought The Kings of Limbs was disappointing. But this is the first time i've listend to this the whole way through, and at 2:25 i got the same feeling i had when i listend to Ok Computer for the first time...weird...

  • @LameLatinLoser i agree, i'm not much of a king of limbs fan either, but i like this.

  • @Braxium1 The thing is I've NEVER seen them. And I'm growing impatient every year.

  • It is humanly impossible to make it past 2:23 without at least bobbing your head.

  • and i live in taipei and get to see them. lucky me

  • Absofunkinlutely love it

  • radiohead <3

  • Oh yes... I can wait to see them this summer at BBK Live!! I'm so excited, ufff ufffffffffffff!!!!!!! I hope they'll play nude, is the song of my life.

  • If I love Radiohead (which I do, and have since Pablo Honey...) do I *have* to hate Coldplay? I think that Radiohead is the best band walking the earth, but I also think that Coldplay are pretty good too. Why so much hatred? I mean... Parachutes is pretty darned good.

  • @Oldshirt Exactly lol, sometimes it seems the radiohead songs on youtube are just a boiling pot of rage for against coldplay :/

  • Coldplay and Radiohead aree the greatest britain bands... Understand that? yeah? ok, so shut the fuck up bitches

  • This is my favorite song from the TKOL era along with the Butcher. Typical Radiohead, not including their best songs on the album but instead making them b-sides!

  • That was a really nice one. :)

  • ENOUGH ABOUT COLDPLAY. JUST ENJOY THIS SONG.

  • @OKComquter no!.......no....we must FEEEL the anger

  • One word: stunning.

  • Coldplay do suck you donut puncher. Go fist yourself elsewhere.

  • yeah chris martin is such a dick- what a stupid comment

  • Comparing Coldplay to Radiohead is like comparing Dog Turd to Caviar. Radiohead are in a league of their own.

  • radiohead is so deep band!! coldplay sucks!! thums up if u agree !!!

  • @LiverAcid Coldplay does not suck, they're just not as good as radiohead.

Dont shit on others to prove your love, be mature

  • @LiverAcid Both bands are cool on what they do... com' on don't say that. VIVA coldplay! and Long live to Radiohead!!!

  • @LiverAcid Nope, dude, thumbs down for you. Respect both bands.

  • Why? Why was I not informed about this! I had been waiting for a studio recording.

This is like King Of Limbs all over again, I find out days later.

  • Woah... what was that? @_@ Am I dead or alive or... omg

  • I've just had an Eargasm!!

  • wow. was not expecting that, brilliant
