I'm always mystified by this. Vent sounds so awesome in the video cutscene (or at least as good as "Megamerge" is ever going to sound), and yet manages to be completely boring and monotonous during his in-game dialogue. Aile's voice may have left a lot, and I do mean a LOT, to be desired, but at least she's consistent.

@MrLuizilla Vent probably grew his hair as a tribute to Giro. Since they both were greatly influenced by Giro as a father figure, individually. See it this way, now give Vent glasses and he looks exactly like Giro, just with darker hair (and blue top).

Vent's hair is long in honor of his deceased father figure, Giro. Before that, in ZX, Vent's hair was still kind of ridiculous but short.

Anyway, try to see "The Day of SIGMA", it has flashbacks of Light activating X when he was unfinished.

@RockHumanDelta: Dr. Light did create both of them. X, being the more advanced model, was programmed with the ability of choice. This means he could either support humans or kick or all their asses. Dr. Light decided to run a diagnostic test on X before letting him out. Unfortunately, the test lasted longer than his life so X remained in stasis till another doctor whose name i forgot found him in the future and reactivated him.
