@reeerttrety Hendrix did not "carry both to all the public," this song was famous well before Hendrix covered it. It was topping the charts in the USA when Bob Dylan released it. Hendrix does a great rendition of it, but it's not like he made some kind of unknown song into a hit. It was a already a hit when Dylan released two years earlier.
