  • umm sorry i dont know what your saying lol

  • I like the 1 v 1's the best

  • Extreme LARP-ing? lol

  • russians and polish and other slavian people.the TEUTONIC ORDER WILL COME BACK AGAIN.just kidding can join these battle games everybody?are the weapons are lethal??

  • Oh man alive, this is awesome! I've always wanted to join full contact swordsmanship!

  • these guys are nuts, looks good though, makes our reenactments look tame lol

  • wow the sword fighting looks fun

  • How is this done without killing each other?

  • @it13455 Dont think the swords are that sharp, and if they are it doesnt matter to much since the armor will not take any bigger damage if you dont thrust the sword.

  • @IcyViking in eastern europe actally, they are pretty infamous for going at it ALOT harder than people oof the same time period in australia, where i reenact.

for example we dont usually just stand there toe to toe and bash at each other, then again i do a less armoured period, the 10th and 11th centry rus vikings.

but you still dont want sharp weapons, accidents can still happen, and a sharpened sword can more easily damage lighter armour,

  • @elgostine True.

  • @it13455 Very carefully. And besides, they're Russian.

  • What a gang of mindless jackasses! They go to hit the head! But then you have to train just DAMN! This should not be a real battle!! Medieval war ended long time ago luckily.

I think these people have received too many blows to the head already. No remedy ;(. Have you seen that someone was stunned in duels? Like I said ... some jackasses! Uff!

No tienen remedio. Uff!

  • I wish there was something like this in America.

  • NO MAMES KE CHINGON KE MANTENGAN ESA TRADICION!!!

  • thinking*

  • @RichardFilatov Pravilnie lyudi vezde est.

  • @RichardFilatov A chto Evrei delaut s Amerikanskimi evreyami? Amerikanskoe pravitolstvo vmesti gruzyat, voini na Arabov vmesti s Israilyam idut.

  • @Arestaeus Da hvatit ujhe na evreev bochku kotit, eto chisto evropeiskoe delo, my ne evropeicy, my luchshe, Giid God, lol!!!

  • they have some REALLY bad ass equipment

  • Now this is very cool

  • If you are a SCAdian check out scacommunity. com

  • Kruto!

  • alot of them looks like pre-muscovites..especially the war-mask at 1:15

  • They definitley need to work on NOT leaving them selves open every second

  • @SgtSamProductions

It is easy to explain why they do that.

In duels it is like boxing - main point there is to score as much points as possible, so defencive fighter would lose lead.

Also they are armored - so they pefer to block hits that can stun, injure or KO. As it is other way to lose. Armored fights differ from unarmored.

  • ehh.... lame style... no discipline.. look at Libusin czech medieval mass fight youtube.com/watch?v=BnJQ1FjGNxA&feature=related

  • Why Russians friend don't use their style of armor. Why they use western and central European style of armor?

  • @kazama333

because it's a festival of medieval west-European reconstruction. west-euro festivals are the most popular all over the world, including Rissia. though medieval Rus recon fests are quite popular there, I guess the main problem is high cost of russian armor sets

  • real waepons!!!!

  • i dont get it about these type of war reinactments, what type of metal/plastic do they use? real armor? real sheilds?

  • @slammer902 real armor, real shields, sometimes they use steel or aluminum weapons, that have been blunted, but most of the combat is done with rattan( a kind of bamboo), made into the weapon...sometimes covered in foam, or tape.

  • @Cstrife234 only steel weapons! only fags use rattan or aluminum))

  • I'am the guy in red coat, stunned on 3.34

    what i can say:

    1. thank's to all for your high marks, they really matter for me & my friends

    2. 30 kgs of steel on my body, 3,5 kg sword & 40C heat & all this blows inna head

well, it was not easy at all

    3. it was great fun. it's pity, that i can't do it now any more. I wanna back in this mess with my sword, with my axe & shield & brothers

    join us, lads-)

  • @Kaisssi that was a hell of a blow you took, no wonder.

  • After watching dozens of sword fighting videos and SCA fights, this is more like it was in medieval times. There were no "moves" other than whatever it took to whack your adversary. Read George Silver's writings about the English Renaissance techniques on the broad sword and the transitional rapier and it's basically what these guys are doing...over the top cross blows after the original medieval Spanish style. Great bravery!

  • I wonder if acidents happens.

  • o_o;; That's pretty hardcore stuff.

  • Nice set-up and spirit but none of those duels showed any swordsmanship or technique or strategy. Not criticizing, just pointing it out. It's a shame that there are no european swordsmanship left apart from fencing and one stick fighting. There are many attempts at reconstruction though. Good luck with that.

  • Most of the SCA folks in America (I think they're the biggest reenactment crew around) are pretty hardcore; they swing hard and I've been present for relatively serious injury... and they're fighting with flexible wood!

Leave it to Russians to fight with real steel. Fuckin' awesome.

Also? Swordsmanship, technique and strategy are invalid in fights like these. An Inigo Montoya-level fencer would likely get crushed by guys like this. It's more about bashing the other guy's armor apart.

  • @KirinRahl you don't have a clue.

  • @Zangozs The technique i see is they target hands and heads primarily, according to the masters I have studied these are studious fighters... I have fought many Russians and they are a fierce foe, no cowboys.

  • @Zangozs yep, you are absolutely right. It looks like a riot with medival weapons and armor. Search youtube for the channel : "TheRealGladiatores" . There you see some good skills.

  • I'm seeing skill there. This is not just "bashing," those blows are deliberately aimed, using technique that maximizes the force of the blow and minimizing exposure to the other fighter's weapon, looking for openings, working with timing and range. Of course the hclips they show only focus on the actual swinging and striking, but I'll bet the full fights have a bit more strategy in them.

  • bugurt is the russian and I think also polish word for mass battle, often called mellee, a french word often used in english also.

  • well... least this wasn't any like that delicate poking like any other ''reenactment''

  • what's the name of first song?

  • @Vasyshq We're all to blame by sum 41

  • Comment removed

  • Nope. There are clubs who wears eastern-style armor armor and participate induels and realy massive battles. In this video there are one guy too. Just european armour is looking much cooler. And beutiful eastern armor that provides adequate protection costs more that european and harder to produce In modern times i mean - whit current tools and metalurgy. Still plates of cource more durable, but majority of russian reconstructors of "european" clubs would prefer brigantine over breastplate...

  • Gedd - not true at all. there are literally hundreds of clubs in russia, each picks a particualr time and place, some reenact german, others french, others polish or russian. I've seen viking reenactment live steel with almost no protection in poland and belarus.

  • i dont speak russian but this looks cool!!

  • lol, one of the guys complain about being at the from, surrounded by metal xD you can run back becase your being pushed against the others, poned

  • European plate armor, that Russian recons are wearing, has much more superior defence against sword/axe/hammer strike. As russian reconstructor You should know about holywar between Slovenic recons and "marsians"(european). In any bugurt there is much more injury danger for Slavs, because historically there was no need for heavy armor russians versus mongolians, who were horseriders using bows 'nd scimitars.

  • Grunwald ? Sausages , beer and souvenirs. History? What history?

  • The truth? Poles have lost all bugurts to the east. They never could win. Why?

  • You can forbid them it?

  • epic~

  • fucking awesome

  • Hardcore. Nice armor and weapons!

I do the same thing in America

    You guys are very good,

thank you for making this video

I would love to travel to Russia and sword fight with you

Where are you doing this? in which state? not if Florida by any chance?

  • @abnsmith I don't see how it can be possible in states... U.S. has to many regulations and people sue for everything there is.

  • @Arestaeus This stuff happens all of the states. Just gotta know where to look.

  • @jawallace1991 *over

  • @jawallace1991 I heard of fairs where people wear the armor ect but never stage massive realistic/battles. Logically thining in America it's hard to make it work, people wish to sue others for every little thing. It's to much of the risk to stage such events, if someone gets hurt it's all over.

  • @Arestaeus

I attend several large battles here in america every year...and participate in them

  • SHOW (OR SHUT UP).

  • Must respect those guys, they are really looking for blood

  • I love the armor! It's soo well made!

  • this guys seem a littlle undisipled they codent hold line when chargeing

  • One hell of a good melee guys...whacking good show! Keep up the good work.

  • dude these guys are just going at it

just fucking whacking each other in the head

  • You call that a massive battle??? Lol look at battle of Wolin 2005.... its much larger. Dont misunderstand me the vid is great but 30 people kicking each other is not a massive battle. Well this battle is better than battle of wolin because armors are really great!!! They arent russian.... but they are great. They are not russian - russian used scale , not plate armors.

  • this is massive it's hauskcarl in normally reinactment you never hit the head

  • 1:38 :-D

  • good!

  • These guys have great technique, to be fighting like that in heavy armor, but did they have to play crappy alternative metal?? Walknut - /Motherland Ostenvegr/ would have been a good match

  • Yeah no music would have just been better, its annoying,

  • erm, they don't use technics... they fight intuitional

  • Formal techniques fully work only in staged battles :).

In other battles you must react to situation.

Look at fights in.... well MMA for example :)

  • No idea! You may gather some guys and open one yourself, though.

In Germany, we began to do this with two small groups in Nürnberg and in Münster. We started a year ago and are going to go to the first tounaments in Poland this year. Fortunately the big east-european scene is not that far from us...

I guess Americans could try to meet at SCA events at the beginning and recruit people from them as well.

  • US has same thing.

    Search- SCA War

  • Not really. These people use steel swords, while you hit each other with wooden sticks... and they fitght until k.o. sometimes... they have several times bigger balls than SCA-guys.

  • Is there a USA branch?

  • Hehe I love your reply ;)

  • What great stuff they got!

  • Full armoured combat always appears to lack any finesse of apparent technique. Its probably just the obvious bounce from the steel on steel that creates and almost clumsy appearance but it does look as though they're running at each other bashing away madly.

  • actually it's all that heavy leather and steel that they have to cart around, but they are extremely proficient in their art. as you guess it just looks odd. these guys are really going at it. those shield bashes can do some serious stunning.

  • 3:34 oww

  • Ya that must have hurt like a bitch.

  • Yeah indeed...Looked awesome when he took that hit and still was on his feet standing.Music and effect fits very well.

  • the fighter @ 2:12 got the dog mess knocked out of him....I study unarmoured longsword..this is awesome & nuts. These Russian folks realy go at it...SCA folks here in the States wouldn't stand a chance in this scenerio...

  • is this the SCA?

  • No, they use real weapons, the sca uses sticks. But it sure does look like the sca

  • Vodka can heal everything :D I drink a lot cause im from Poland, im medieval knight too, every knight dring a lot especiali from Russia, Poland, Belaurus etc. Pozdrowienia dla braci zza wschodniej granicy, DO ZOBACZENIA NA BOHURCIE NA GRUNWALDZIE !! :P

  • Did you put in the music, or was that already in there? Because if you did, bravo; it really multiplies the awesome

  • Shit... This looks so cool! :D

  • its so sad, here in Mexico ist almost iposible to do somethig like that, it would be great to be were like a medieval warrior or an eagle warrior :)

  • So is this like a planned out reanactment or them really fighting after years of praticing just with dull swords? Also is this a type of sport or group what is it called and whatb are some groups that do this .

  • Well, fights are not planned, duels ( and small battles ) shown in this video are full contact fights in armour replicas with dull swords ( sharpened swords are forbidden ). They fight according to medieval martial arts in which for example modern fencing has roots. It is not a type of sport but requires great strenght, stamina and courage. Such agressive behaviour is characteristic for groups wchich try to reconstruct medieval culture, fighting is prabobly the most attractive part of such hobby

  • Yes they use real swords but simply not sharp but still they are real

  • They arent using real swords

    They cant

  • Yeah they can and they are... not as heavy as as in the old time but it's still metal! Sometime people get K.O

  • the swords are rebated (blunt)

  • They do. In russia the label(quality)of steel used is 65G. Unfortunately I don't know european equivalent, maybe it's the same.

Blades are not sharpened. The cutting surface is 2mm.

  • SERIOUSLY BETTER THAN PAINTBALL!

You guys make the paintballers look like wussys!! LOL..

bty :) Do Russians like the Irish?

  • We 've got the same drinking hobbies, it seems. I adore Irish culture. Wish to learn more and visit Ireland to exchange drinking experience. )))

  • I hear Guiness and Vodka heal all :)

  • kill them! kill them ALLL!!!!! muhahahahaha!!

  • THX for the vid, slavic blood is strong in Russia, we do bohurts in Poland too but not as hardcore as those, realy great brothers Russians!

  • already! :)

  • can I join?

  • Not worst than SCA battle. SCA is more safe but not same stuff more real in this russian demo but more dangereous in this case just imagine 2000 figthers like Pensic .... they could have death or serious injuries...

  • You're right, but look: They wear "real", massive armor, like I do.

Someone needs to strike VERY hard to get through my chainmaille, and 2mm coat of plates.

So the risk isn't that big - well, only if everyone wears a good armor, of course ;)

  • home sweeeet home...

  • The Rusians are excellent for this could of realistic no-holds-barred simulated warfare due to their lack of respect for human life.

  • ???

    Is this a joke I don't understand?

  • No, you don't understand much of anything do you?

  • So you think russians have no respect for human life? But the U.S. have? Who has?

    Tell me, please!

  • I believe its a joke

  • Ah, just a flamebaiting troll post. How original.

  • I notice they have banned thrusting; outside of this there doesn't appear to be any real restraints imposed on the "combatants" which makes this rather intense display of martial prowess such a joy to watch.

In the USA the organisers of this event would have been sued to death by injured participants by now.

  • You'd better keep silence for you know nothing about both russians and living-history.

As for respect of human life you'd better read more russian classic literature (Dostoevsky fo instance). Good luck man!

  • ...and I know a lot about living-history, because I do it myself

  • hmmm im russian, LOL

  • Now tell me WHO has the balls? These guys , or the shitpile of SCA people? SLAVA! C

  • It it was all the way, not too many players would tell their stories, eh :)

  • First i have to say very brave and good, but the 1on1 fights are looking like some kiddys fightings with swords made of wood. SOMETIMES they don't use the shield for defending. But still great job

  • WOW! I been dream of this for such a long time! How can I become member of any team? Me and a some of Scandinavian friends having interest to join in to. It is just a great. Keep on that way.

  • great job guys... i surley will welcome You all in Poland, we have our good battles too.

  • Shockingly brutal. I love it!

  • Nice movie! Ofcourse 5 Stars!

    Slava Russii!

  • If just anyone could translate this to English...

  • beatiful beatles ;)

  • I love this combat, only because is realistic!

  • Now THIS is realistic steel combat. Very dangerous, but also very enticing. I like seeing this done with steel for once, instead of sticks.

  • I wanna go 2 russia.
