This is one of those songs, or pieces of music if you wish, that sticks with me and just pops up in my head from time to time. Great upload. THANKS!!!
Has anyone ever heard the clam at 2:45? Trumpets, somebody missed an accidental. I am NOT being critical but every time I hear this I hear the missed note and always wonder why they let it go! I love this music very much ;-)
@LLJtbone What are you talking about. They didnt miss a note, it's just a cuciendo note. If they did miss a key tone or a note it would sound like shit and it would stick out like a sore thumb. You obviously don't know much about music.
@DJSexLeopard So you think I don't know much about music? You have no idea :-) You obviously can't hear S*** because there is most clearly a wrong note at 2:45. Have you had your hearing checked lately? Can you please tell us all the definition of "cuciendo". Even studio guys make errors, nobodies perfect.
@LLJtbone Well if you know so much about music and you are a prodigy, a musical genius then why don't you get the sheet music for this song, read every note bar for bar. Tell us what note the sheet say's and get a note reader and tell us what key they played wrong. I'd really love to know. Until then kid, you are so far below me I don't want to sink to your level by associating with the likes of you. I bid you good day, sir.
@jazzx251 I can roll with that. At least you heard it! I have listened to it alot of time and to my ears I hear a mistake, somebody missing a sharp or flat every time. I just always thought that it was something that they let it go. Thanks though, glad to know that you heard it as well ;-)
LOL reminds me when peter griffin sings this theme ... anyway one of the only set of films that could fully deliver in every film along with Star Wars and Lord of the rings, truly one of the best films ever made
i'm sorry - but no one can touch John Williams in scoring films.. Jaws, Superman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, the Back to the Future theme, Earthquake, Close Encounters, E.T., Born on the Fourth of July, Home Alone, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Nixon, Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, Harry Potter, and countless others.... the man is a living legend.
woops... my bad - for whatever reason I had thought that Williams conducted the theme song, while Silvestri did everything else... WRONG... god, i'm only 26 and i'm already losing my mind. lol.
@DJX187 i'd have to agree with you kid. Jw's music and "musicians" are stellar in every sense of the word. This music is just amazing. It's exciting and then some.
Heh heh, Williams really did take the piss during the 70s-80s. Nobody could touch him, not even the great Jerry Goldsmith. This track is masterful in it's composition.
@power2084 there's another part in the movie when willie shouts at indy in the yellow dingy "and most of all i hate YOU!" but the "you" part is a mans voice .. WTF??
This recording is somewhat decent, but I have heard much better. Absolutely marvellous piece, though, I recommend the original album recording. John Williams' contributions to film and music are unforgettable.
one of the best themes from the Temple of Doom movie, and the Indy Jones movies in general. At last they'releasing the Indy Jones music again in a box set.
You said it. I think that the scores for Indiana Jones were some of John Williams' best work, and this might be the most memorable theme of the trilogy; next to Raiders March, of course...
It's funny, just a couple days ago, I was in a Target, heading for the exit, and this kid about 7, 8 years old was going "Ba da da da dah, dah dah dah da da da da da..." terribly off-key, and I was thinking, how could anyone do that to this theme? :) But I was soon out and my faith in this theme restored. :P
But I was really amused by it all, because it seems most young people today only know what's current. So to hear a kid that young knowing a Temple of Doom theme was cool in a low-key way.
Check for the box set online. Even with shipping, you'll probably get the best prices there. It comes in a box, bigger in size than a CD case, with all four movie soundtracks, and there's a fifth disc, and going off memory here, it has some extra tracks, and an interview.
This song is in my head so much. Thanks for posting it. Love the vid you made to go with it! Better than the versions that just have a single image posted through the whole song, lol.

I am a professional trumpet player.
The trumpets were fine.
It sounded like a minor mistake in the woodwind underneath. Nothing wrong with the trumpets though - that WOULD have stood out beyond any dispute!
