Moi un des passages mise à part la fin biensûr que j'adore, c'est lorsqu'il la regarde fixement monter des escaliers, et qu'elle se retourne.Là il a un regard à tomber par terre ! Bon allé j'arrête parcque finallement il est à tomber part terre tout le film de toute façon ! :)))
@warhol74 Je vois très bien de quel passage tu parles ! Il y en a plusieurs que j'adore me repasser plein plein de fois, je ne m'en lasse pas... J'ai des "périodes" North and South, où je reprends tout le film du début et je passe ensuite des jours et des jours à revoir certains extraits.
Je ne pense pas que je regarderai la version française ; d'accord pour comprendre ce qu'il se passe, mais jamais ils n'arriveront à trouver une voix bien pour Thornton. J'aime trop leurs intonations originales.

But oh well, at least Mr Thornton is so cute in both versions ♥

when they kiss, i can feel butterflies in my stomach. it's so amazing. i love this part of the movie, it really makes the audience feel the repressed love.
leave it to BBC to make such a masterpiece!! In the U.S. we barely have anything like this being made anymore, people are too caught up with crap like gossip girl....Omg i am in love with this movie!! : )

To PeaceRose2130: I think it is supposed to be Manchester, the biggest industrial city in the north of England. That's what the "making of" documentary said. But they changed it to Milton so that the people of Manchester wouldn't be insulted by the non-complimentary parts of the movie.

I remember someone kissed me once like that, but it was totally rubbish because we barely knew each other! It was like "what are you doing ... there is nothing romantic about this! speed it up ... " just goes to show how feeling can make a kiss 1000x better!
She is so sweet when she is explaining her business proposition. And to him-all he sees is that she finally cares about him! And then the hands-so intimate! A masterpiece really.
Beautiful film of a beautiful and beloved Yorkshire (where it was actually used), beautiful story, beautiful Daniella and Sinead (brilliant women who are really under rated in this because of Thornton/Armitage mania and who really made this film work), and beautiful ending... the part where she takes his hand beautiful....Though the kiss spoilt it as she wouldn't have done that in that era..though understand why it was put in.
Shall I mention RA is good in this, no, too much mania already....!
Correction, I think it was supposed to be set in Lancashire tho some filming done in Yorkshire. Does the book whether the Milton is in Yorkshire or Lancashire?
Si vous avez la chance de lire le livre en anglais, vous decouvrirez que Richard Armitage (qui joue Thornton) est PARFAIT dans le role. C'est evident qu'il a lu, lui-meme, le livre plusieurs fois et se transforme reellement dans la peau du personage.

Well, there is a version of Wives and Daughters, by E Gaskell, but I didn't really like it. I particularly liked the adaptation of Northangger Abbey by Jane Austen so I recommend it to you !
This has to be the most romantic and satisfying period drama ending ever! That kiss...actually, every moment from 3:35 on now that I think about it....and the way he looks at her...What an incredible love story. Watching the movie has made me love the novel even more. Probably because every time I pick up the book I start picturing Richard Armitage in period dress:)

That was quite an ending!! This man's eyes are simply incredible. The confidence he shows in this part while he listens to her how amazed he is to see her struggle with words... and the touching hands something so meaningful to their relationship from the beginning... the kiss also quiet daring to that time... the brief moment of confusion and then the happily ever after when slightly surprised he says "you're coming home with me!?"
You described it so beautifully ! I would add the scene is quite funny when she struggles with her words. He looks at her as if he thought "I've got you ..."

This is so amazing. Such a beautiful ending. My sister has it on dvd, but I had seen some music videos with parts of it and I just couldn't wait till I get home after my exams next week.

En fait je l'ai crée en incrustant des sous-titres trouvés sur un site de fan sur la vidéo en anglais. J'avais cherché la version sous-titrée français aussi, mais elle n'existe pas dans le commerce! Mais tu peux essayer de le faire ! Il te faut la version anglaise, trois logiciels différents d'incrustation (protocole sur internet), et les sous-titres sur le site.

To PeaceRose2130: I think it is supposed to be Manchester, the biggest industrial city in the north of England. That's what the "making of" documentary said. But they changed it to Milton so that the people of Manchester wouldn't be insulted by the non-complimentary parts of the movie.

Beautiful film of a beautiful and beloved Yorkshire (where it was actually used), beautiful story, beautiful Daniella and Sinead (brilliant women who are really under rated in this because of Thornton/Armitage mania and who really made this film work), and beautiful ending... the part where she takes his hand beautiful....Though the kiss spoilt it as she wouldn't have done that in that era..though understand why it was put in.
Shall I mention RA is good in this, no, too much mania already....!

Si vous avez la chance de lire le livre en anglais, vous decouvrirez que Richard Armitage (qui joue Thornton) est PARFAIT dans le role. C'est evident qu'il a lu, lui-meme, le livre plusieurs fois et se transforme reellement dans la peau du personage.

Il faut voir l'acteur dans d'autres roles... Guy of Guisborne de la serie "Robin Hood" (3e saison en particulier) ou encore Harry Kennedy dans la finale de "Vicar of Dibley."

I watched this period drama saturday night. And I couldn't stop watching it until the end , until 3 o'clock in the morning actually !(=.=) haha! it was soooo good! And now that i've seen the end, i can't stop watching it again and again and over again. Lol. And it always let me breathless...

Well, there is a version of Wives and Daughters, by E Gaskell, but I didn't really like it. I particularly liked the adaptation of Northangger Abbey by Jane Austen so I recommend it to you !

This has to be the most romantic and satisfying period drama ending ever! That kiss...actually, every moment from 3:35 on now that I think about it....and the way he looks at her...What an incredible love story. Watching the movie has made me love the novel even more. Probably because every time I pick up the book I start picturing Richard Armitage in period dress:)

That was quite an ending!! This man's eyes are simply incredible. The confidence he shows in this part while he listens to her how amazed he is to see her struggle with words... and the touching hands something so meaningful to their relationship from the beginning... the kiss also quiet daring to that time... the brief moment of confusion and then the happily ever after when slightly surprised he says "you're coming home with me!?"

This is so amazing. Such a beautiful ending. My sister has it on dvd, but I had seen some music videos with parts of it and I just couldn't wait till I get home after my exams next week.
And Richard Armitage is in the 7th season of Spooks. I want to see it too, but I have only seen the 1st and 2nd season. It's about time they catch up with the dvd release of Spooks in Belgium.

The eternal rivality between Mr Thornton and Mr Darcy..... Who is the best ? I want to say both of them.... in a different way. Thornton is rougher, less noble and perhaps more manly. Darcy seems unreachable, superior and so good-mannered. But both of them are mysterious and handsome !

En fait je l'ai crée en incrustant des sous-titres trouvés sur un site de fan sur la vidéo en anglais. J'avais cherché la version sous-titrée français aussi, mais elle n'existe pas dans le commerce! Mais tu peux essayer de le faire ! Il te faut la version anglaise, trois logiciels différents d'incrustation (protocole sur internet), et les sous-titres sur le site.

Au pire il y a des logiciels téléchargeables gratuitement qui te permettent d'extraire les vidéos de Youtube (je te donne mon autorisation solennelle... lol !). Je pense que c plus simple, et ça te prendra moins de temps
