    thanks a lot

  • I am a Boilermaker (Local 169). i like your vids, i watch them on my down time to pick up new things and learn new tricks. Some work and others are just a pain in the ass LOL

  • using 309 is a cop out, your a shit welder, thats all there is to it..

  • What torch was used? wp9? where can i get the large cup from?

  • now i fucking know what down slope means i get alot of greator's i am an student thank's man

  • Thank you, these videos are so helpful. I'm still learning, but with your tips and tricks I'm learning a lot quicker than I would have learned on my own. Thanks.

  • One of the welders I learned on was a Miller Synchrowave 300 and it had a crater fill function on it. It was timed with the post flow timer and it was supposed to prevent crater holes, balls, cracks, etc. It was a nice feature but your machine with the down sloping current looks even better.

  • you dont know how to weld, down here in the NZ we have sandards, you have none...

  • @cptkirk2007 Show us the NZ standards then. Think you can make videos as well as him?

  • "Like the 309" was the last song Jonny Cash wrote. His torch will alway's be lit.

  • Hi nice video, im planing to enter school to learn this trade, any advice for a first timer??

  • "its gonna be fine using straight 309".

Great video, Just got a tig welder today, Your videos are more than helpful.

  • I understand the difference between TIG and MIG welding, but what are the different applications? What would you use one for that you wouldnt use the other?

  • @lobzdik mostly depends on the base metal. Tig = stainless and alluminium and non ferous base materials.. Mig is mostly used in fabrication shops that work with mild steel.

  • Jody, wanted to say thanks for taking the time to tape these videos. I pick up alot of tricks from you. I passed 5 certification test in the last 3 months. Now im on tig. Having trouble on the route pass.

  • Hi Jody, your videos are awesome! you are getting very good at showing the TIG puddle and dipping - its clearer than when I do it, and love your clear comments! Thanks for spending the time to put these together - and I have some of your TIG fingers, they work great!

  • really good info, thanks for your help

  • @cptkirk2007, its a machine that chases turds... Non-critical work. Those welds were more the acceptable.
