I have both versions (the spades and the shields). I prefer the Shields, but it is more doowop with the high voice. This is a definitive doowop standard, one that would most anyones must have list. interesting that this came out just 3 weeks after the Slades. This #12, the Slades #42. Both one-hit-wonders. The Shields did have a bigger record company, and the recording was a little more polished, maybe that made the differance. The Slades were white, so given 1958 attitude about black artists, you'd think that the white group would have done better. Like most of Pat Boone's covers.
