It's very hard to train this area against abuse. So far I've only seen one former friend so crazy in his training, he drops 5kg weights on his solar plexus and nothing happens.
When you receive a blow to the solar plexus, It can temporarily paralyze the diaphragm. Thus the feeling of getting your wind knocked out. An extremely hard blow, such as a kick or jab from a baton, could potentially damage internal organs or rupture the abdominal aorta, which would be fatal. Punches like the one in this video are going to be painful, but cause no permanent damage.
@guildfordrunner No, the solar plexus is a bunch of nerves near your diaphragm. The sternum is the bone that you feel when you touch inbetween your chest.
@xXcorruptionXx7 Can't you die from being hit like this? I'm curious because I'm scared of being hit here in sparring, do you think it's any real danger or more of a serious pain and discomfort kind of thing? :P
@psfanboy999 Death is debatable with a shot like this, but you can damage organs that are connected to the nerves in the solar plexus. But you shouldn't worry because I'm sure you won't have a professional trying to kill you.
@psfanboy999 If your worried about getting hit there in sparring you should try and block everything that comes near you, also if they hit you too hard in any sort of sparring match they should be disqualified, that's how it works at my club.
I know someone already commented in this but the best way to take a punch to the stomach/solar plexus is very simple. Breath out HARD when the punch is just about to hit, its all about timing. This hardens your stomach muscles hopefully at the same time the punch hits allowing the energy from the punch to be diffused throughout your body. From the karate nerd bishes!!!!!
I've gotten hit in the solar plexus full force with a soccer ball and it knocked the wind out off me. I even got a headache afterwards. A soccer ball is bigger than a fist so I could just imagine the pain...
me and my friend were messing around in gym class and accidentally punched me square in the solar plexus and it knocked me out for about 30 seconds. when i woke up it was the worst feeling it felt like i smoked about 6 blunts and ate some bad fast food...not only that but my face was literally yellow for 3 hours
@EtnicsMediaSB Training for this kind of abuse is not fun, Well for some it is! You will be bent over double many times, You will want to plan ahead for what's in your stomach, because it may not be for long. Part of Plexus training is fighting against the gag when it comes after a heavy punch.
@WhiteSypher Yes, a hard punch to the upper abdomen can temporarily paralyze the muscles of the diaphragm, thus the feeling of having all the air pushed out of the lungs.
@SteelRibs At my karate class my teacher tells us to aim for the solar plexus and it seems like its the part where when you get punched you get winded, is that the only thing that happens when you get hit hard there, do you only get winded?
@EtnicsMediaSB Damn, so I'm not the only one to get knocked out by a blow to the solar plexus. A mate of mine smacked me there as hard as he could when i was looking being me when I was about 14. Tried to play it off like it was nothing, next thing I know I woke up with someone dragging my down the hall and one hell of a black eye from falling face first into a radiator....
this video pisses me off so bad.... japanese using the forigners as human punch bags and laughing at his pain i'd match his force to see how he likes it.
i've notice, they are even overlooked in MMA. Certain types of karate moves are very powerful for the short range of motion.. That guy is much smaller than the dude who takes the punch but u can see the damage done.

you stupid cuz biology is the study of all living things. straight out of the biology book, and the chapters within the book is the study of life, continuity of life, the environment, diversity of life, animal kingdom, human life. Just so you know it also says AND SHOWS that the heart is offset to the left side of the body.
not to mention the topic was mainly about the Celiac Plexus or solar plexus which you were also wrong about
that guy is fucking tough, not a big fan of karate, and I think this no pain no gain training is stupid but damn that guy is tough to take a shot like that.
well this is gay shit, the style i do is discrete and comes from the real stuff that they used for war back in the day when weapons where lost and you kill people with your bar hands the way its surpost to be done. Lemme see a boxer i do stand up as well but if i want it easy ill go ground if its solo and break your arms or choke you out or maybe cut of your blood surpply to your brain.
A little bit under the chest. Directly under your heart(heart is in the middle of the chest not on the left side like a lot of ppl think. then go 5-7 cm down) there begins the first part of the abs. under the 2 abs(so the hoghest abs if you have a sixpack) is the solarplexus which is a freaking good weakness
You stupid cuz the solar plexus or celiac plexus(same thing)is located near the stomach to the right, and unless your heart is on the right side of your chest, i doubt it would be directly below our heart. oh and your heart is not in the center of your chest.. its offset to the left... somebody needs to study human anatomy(human anatomy the study of the human body). and the reason it hurts so much is because you are being hit in a bundle of nerves. there's a lesson for you
uh no the heart IS in the center. its a mistake the most pll do. The left side of the heart is pumping so they think its on the left. the right chamber is just the place you "collect" the blood. So you dont feel anything if on the right side. Btw I am studying biology. Google heart and search for pics with heart and lunges on it. So you can see the right position. And this was YOUR lesson
your joking right? the hearts is in the center? the guy was right, it is off set to the left of the body under the ribs for protection. second the punch to the solar plexus does nothing to the heart, it knocks the wind out of a person. it can also split the sternum which hurts like hell. secondly biology has nothing to do with human anatomy, but merely the study of life as a whole. go learn anatomy because its plain to see you have no idea what you are talking about.
not the body center. Behind the lunges and there in the center. And I gonna repeat it for you: the PUMPING SIDE is on the left. The heart itself is in the middle. And again: I AM STUDIYING BIOLOGY AND WAS SUPRISED TOO!!! Google that goddamn organ and watch pictures where you can see that it is in the middle. in most cases its A LITTLE BIT on the left side but NEVER THE WHOLE HEART! There are also cases where the heart is a little bit on the right side but this is a rare thing.
btw: why is the heart not about biology? The blood circle? The function of the heart? The structure of the heart? I all learned that in biology. In which subject do you learn sth like this?!
the human anotomy is on germany added in biology. biology= science of the life. So anatomy of the body in includd. I dont know why its not in biology in the US
I would say that since the majority of the heart is under the left side of your rib cage its offset to the left. i didnt say its was under your lung, it is tucked between both lungs ever so slightly shifted to the left since the largest part of the heart is under the left side of the ribs. if you had a pain in the ass teacher he or she could say its was directly in the middle, but thats kind of a trick question. since the largest muscle formation is under the left side of the rib cage.
I actually mean it like you oO But there is actually just a little part on the left and the main part in the middle. I would give you a link but youtube dont post them
google is a amazing thing. i have hundreds of pictures of the heart and its location. i have doctors description its location and muscle structures...
while I understand why this suppost to be, if you look at all the Asian people in the background they are cracking up. they get it. this is a teacher smacking around the big fat white guy with bleached hair. why? simple because he can and the dumb American thinks its training. I think its rather funny as well.
How is getting punched to the belly gonna make you stronger ? It is clinically proved that the human body never accutumates pain : no matter how much to get hit, the pain will always be there. Even after 1000 punches like this you'll still fall down like a bitch.
your a retard they're learning on ignoring the pain the pain will be there but if they learn to ignore it and overcome it it wont hurt until they're done faggot
There is a little problem in what u are saying.. that spot he got punched was the solar plexus... and i dont give a shit about his training.. he will get knocked down for some secunds no matter how many times he gets hit there.
no jackass theres not i said nothin about solar plexus retard i said pain so go suck a big long stick that u had to much free time with and carved it into a penis and fornicated yourself with it you penisless faggot, go suck a penis you faggot go
i also think that when we train our knuckles or chins for kicks. not only does the bone get stronger but i think the nerves die 2 wich i dont need over there any ways sence its for knocking out people.
nope. your wrong . the body adjusts to pain. when we train and we do train our knuckles and other things. we hit hard stuff wich hurts like crazy. now my knuckles are bulgy hard as rocks and i hit rock floor ,tile floor it doesnt hurt anymore.
That's not true. You reach an absolute zero through experience. A simple comparison is if you're in a place that's 100 degrees, once you enter into a 80 degree room it'll be pretty damn cold to you. And if you've been in that 80 degree room for a while you may not be cold until you go into a room in even lesser degrees. So it's plausible to say to know what true pain feels like, and feel it often, what hurts average people may not register as painful to yourself.
I got muscle covering my solar plexus a bit and I have very hard abs, I used to let strong guys hit me on their hardest for fun.
Though the skin always hurts due to compression if he was strong, and I once had a hit on my navel, resulting in a bruise there for a few weeks.
That's no fun.

not the body center.

In which subject do you learn sth like this?!

the class is called human anatomy.

I would give you a link but youtube dont post them

while I understand why this suppost to be, if you look at all the Asian people in the background they are cracking up. they get it. this is a teacher smacking around the big fat white guy with bleached hair. why? simple because he can and the dumb American thinks its training. I think its rather funny as well.

lol i agree he dint even hit him in the solar plexus about a hand and a half higher, if i hit him hed be un able to breath and probaly pass out.

There is a little problem in what u are saying.. that spot he got punched was the solar plexus... and i dont give a shit about his training.. he will get knocked down for some secunds no matter how many times he gets hit there.

i also think that when we train our knuckles or chins for kicks. not only does the bone get stronger but i think the nerves die 2 wich i dont need over there any ways sence its for knocking out people.
VBH8888 3 years ago
nope. your wrong . the body adjusts to pain. when we train and we do train our knuckles and other things. we hit hard stuff wich hurts like crazy. now my knuckles are bulgy hard as rocks and i hit rock floor ,tile floor it doesnt hurt anymore.
