  • wow, o'reilly was almost charming for the last 5 seconds there...

  • 'That's facism.' hahaha what?

  • Milo!!!!!

  • What is worrying, is that enough people must agree with Bill O'Reilly to keep him on air. As a Brit, I worry for the USA, a country I was under the impression was for freedom and not false indoctrination of children. Shocking stuff.

  • Drummer, if you keep walking down the same ally and every time a brick falls out of the building and conks you on the head then try a different ally. Your argument fails over and over. Cut the tether to your personal non-deity and emancipate yourself for the sake of your self dignity and for a real pursuit of knowledge, truth, and realism. Take life by evidence or by reasonable evidence, it's at least the American Way (as a last ditch appeal).

  • Wooo "Trying to help humanity without God is like trying to change a flat tire without air. " When does a non-deity rise to the level of air??

Air IS something and we CAN prove it.

  • holy shit creationism is not science and it is a CRIME to say it is. If you want to present it in history thats fine but it is definitely not scientific. o reilly is a fucking moron the THEORY of evolution is taught, it is not accepted as a truth and shoved down students throats.

  • Dawkins is awesome but speaks in to kind of a manner. Hitchens really should of came on to talk about religion. He would of destroyed O'Reilly. Maybe that is the reason Bill never had him on to talk about that?

  • With all his education and publications behind him, Fox throws the word "atheist" above Dawkins's name in the banner. And they wonder why so many people don't take their network seriously.

  • troll master lol

  • Science... Ruining everything for 300 years. :)

  • Irish?

  • Science lessons are for science, not religion, is that so difficult to understand? Preach in my science class and i will beat you until you leave... If i want to learn about Creationism, i will go to religion, where i'm sure they don't present scientific theories, or present the view of anybody whose views are contrary to their own...

  • did he just call himself irish

  • O'Reilly seems to be saying his reason for believing in God is to fill a void of ignorance. Which is lucky for him, as it's a big void.

  • unfortunately the fact that we even have to spend time on this argument is, in effect, a victory for the science haters, as these minutes could have been better spent examining some scientific evidence or theories that could be advancing our species.

  • lol this is pure comedy XD i think Richard keeps going to the factor only for pure entertainment :haha:

  • How can you present something in a science class that has no scientific evidence to back it up? Am I missing something?

  • I give Bill credit for one thing: apologizing to the man that made him look like a fool.

  • Bill O'Reilly is an arrogant prick.

  • jeeeeesuuuus! is all u need!

  • Not gunna sugar coat this, Bill O'reilly is a fucking retard.

  • @drpeppa2357 absolutely. I could not have put it any better sir.

  • "Science doesn't advance humans in any moralistic way?"

What is this muthafucka talkin about? If we didn't have technology directly creative from scientific research, we'd still be beating each other over the heads with blunt objects and ransacking each others towns!-- In the name of our gods i might add.

  • jesus is a made up god the bible is a fairy tale book zog is the only true god

  • west side jesus 2:41

  • Hahahaha Dawkin's face at 1:50. He was dying to laugh

  • going into a science class and saying you have to teach the "alternative" of creation is like me going into a church and saying you have to read a few passages from On the Origin of Species...

  • going into a science class and saying you have to teach the "alternative" of creation is like me going into a church and saying you have to read a few passages from On the Origin of Species...

  • @ndrummer99 It's how we evolved, but yes mankind always was and hopefully always will be spiritual -- just not by some notion of a divine authority or dictator, but because we innately, without any external permission, experience wonder, surprise, mystery, the numinous, the transcendent, the awe of nature, life, art, music, and other inexplicable phenomenon.

  • @nyomythus You've just made a perfect argument against spirituality - which is that it loses importance as we gain knowledge.

  • @Bleumange I hope not, I'm just as spiritual as anyone else, or I feel the wonder of the transcendent and mysterious like anyone else.

  • @nyomythus Well, you did :S

  • @Bleumange Well crappola on meola :|

  • @nyomythus Lol. Inexplicable.

  • @nyomythus I guess you probably shouldn't get into neurology then.

  • @ndrummer99

The goal of the "mainstream atheists" like Dawkings and Hitchens isn't to eradicate religion entirely from the world; it is to endorse secularism and the separation from church and state. That's it. They aren't saying that people can't hold religion beliefs, they're just saying that religion should not be present in anything federally funded.

  • @ndrummer99 FAIL.

  • @ndrummer99 Do you see a spiritual need in Sweden? That argument doesn't hold water. I also don't understand how a "spiritual need" forces you to treat women as second class citizens and give lenience to honor killings. Religion would be dying, if its dominion over governments wasn't so damn prominent.

  • @Bleumange I haven't been to Sweden. Are they human? Then yes, they have a spiritual need. Some religions may treat women as second class citizens, but Jesus lifted the place of women. Jesus entered a world which looked down on women, they had no legal rights. They were often thought of more as a thing than a person. She was considered the possession of her father or husband. Jesus treated them as people, with respect and dignity. Women loved him.

  • @ndrummer99 I wasn't referring to Jesus. I'm saying that your understanding of a 'spiritual need' causes people to be gullible and assign themselves to whatever the predominant cult in a given area might be, not that they have imposed upon them a constant and singular moral binding. When I hear that a person 'needs purpose', despite helping human beings and contributing to society every day, I question that person's moral allegiance, as that person doesn't see the purpose in their actions.

  • @Bleumange What is the purpose of helping human beings? Are you saying humans have worth? What gives us worth? Trying to help humanity without God is like trying to change a flat tire without air. You can put as many new tires on as you want, but without air the tire will never properly function. People have all kinds of hangups, memories, and attitudes that prevent them from growing into maturity. God desires to free us from such things. We need to experience the genuine love of God!

  • @ndrummer99 I don't need a master to tell me that other people have worth, I know it by being good to people more than likely means that they will be good to me. I don't need the threats of a divine master to know this.

I'm sorry for you if you do need this.

    Find your soul, boy.

  • @nyomythus I didn't ask you what you needed to know people have worth. I asked you what gives people worth. Can you answer the question of human value? Can you answer the question of human existence? Why are we here? Have we always been here or did we have a beginning? Did the universe have a beginning? Where did it all start? There has to be something infinite and eternal for us to even be here.

  • @ndrummer99 Science is now even closer to finding that answer (or it will never find it, but hey, that's science, not an unchanging dogma) regarding the universe.

Humans have worth because they're part of our species and form our communities. We empathise with them because they are like us. Honestly, all of your questions are bogus without the assumption of a God, so you're being biased to a certain conclusion already.

  • @Bleumange Being a part of a species makes you valuable? Does that make insects as valuable as humans? Or does it only apply to homo-sapiens?

If your looking to your science textbooks to answer the big questions in life you are going to come up empty. I would much rather put my trust in a government of constancy like God's than a system of man made observations subject to error.

  • @ndrummer99 It applies to societal organisms, we're not all sharks. God's "rules" had not prevented genocides or atrocities committed in his name, and are still invoked to promote intolerance today, while the rise of secularism has aided in creating more tolerance. Religion also invokes tribalism, as the existence of a caring supernatural being makes each seem unique, instead of realising their mutual insignificance and deciding to work together.

  • @Bleumange So why does being a part of a societal organism give one value? If we are mutually insignificant why do you say we have worth? Are you saying we have worth collectively, but not individually? God gives man indubitable value. This world was largely made for the sake of mankind. We were given dominion over it. Those who fully recognize this fear God and seek not to oppress their fellowman. It adds to their character, not detracts.

  • @ndrummer99 We have worth, but that worth lies in self-elevation through cooperation. We recognise each other as worthy of living because they are human beings who have the potential to be great, and who will return favours you do them. However, in blunt terms, yes. An unemployed and unambitious individual who actually saps off taxpayer money does have significantly less worth than a medical practitioner, or even a builder. However, we don't murder them because we have empathy, they are like us.

  • @Bleumange So we have a self fabricated worth that is grounded in our potential to be great. Great. Well we may believe it for completely different reasons, but at least we both agree that humans are of great worth. You will never fully know exactly how true your belief and just how much you are worth until you acknowledge the One who gave you worth. All things are in need of Him. I pray you will one day soon come to see this.

  • Comment removed

  • @Bleumange Useful for what? If our own value is a self made fabrication to what worthy end is it fabricated for? When we take God out of the picture we end up with a self fabricated value and no purpose. How far the race of man has strayed. Why do so many refuse to participate in truth?

  • Comment removed

  • @ndrummer99 There is an old story: God made man out of mud and as man alone mud could speak. The mud looked around in awe of God’s creation. It ask politely, “God what is the purpose of all this”.

To which god answered, “Everything must have a purpose?”

“Yes, of course” said the mud.

“Then I leave it to you to think of one for all this” said god and he vanished.

The value you place on your life is the only one that truly maters.

  • @RicenCoal That's a fine Man to God conversation, but Jesus said... :|

Deism is fine. It's the divine wisdom of a deity or a son of a deity who is the deity, the unalterable word when reason shows us that well on second thought we do much better than the first attempt, but no no no, that's a violation of the unalterable word .... and I just watched Catch 22 for the first time last night, wow, just wow. :|

  • @nyomythus If you haven’t already, take a look at Cat’s Cradle. It’s the book this conversation was paraphrased from.

  • @RicenCoal What man seeks self appointed value? We want to be valued by others. Finding your value in a God who in nature is holy and worthy and blessed and eternal is far superior than finding it in your self.

  • @ndrummer99 If a man can find value in himself then perhaps he wouldn’t need others to find it for him. When we stop seeking to be valued by others perhaps we can make more time to show others they are valued by us. Every life is unique; no one can tell u what you are worth.

  • @RicenCoal So you don't seek the approval of others at all?

  • @ndrummer99 There cannot be such a thing as worth in a society where people don't contribute to some common goal, which is why individuals have collective value. They provide services to those around them, and are paid back handsomely. I personally don't see how a secular view of worth is inferior to a divine one. Secularism isn't the system which has oppressed minorities for centuries.

  • @ndrummer99 I don't really see how invoking an abrahamic God is a strong argument. He frequently suggested misogyny, maltreatment of slaves, favoured a tribe while murdering others, and made no real effort to allow humanity to work together (tower of babylon much?). I don't see ANY human rights movements having been divinely inspired in the last century.

  • @ndrummer99 But what matters, is that we don't need a God to explain the vague concept of what you've asked. We value other human beings by their age (thus potential to contribute to the society or respect for having done so), gender (sex drive), ability in a certain field (advancing the human cause or reinforcing the society) and sympathy towards us, because we need to know that they are like us.

I can elaborate more, but you'll really have to make your Humans <= Value question clearer.

  • @ndrummer99 If you're talking about a human "purpose", there is no such thing. We choose to advance humanity's cause for the mutual benefits it bestows upon us, or choose not to. That is all. If you honestly have to follow this up with an argument from God (or equally so, ignorance), then our conversation might as well end, because arguing from your position is pretty much a dead end.

  • @ndrummer99 Then why isn't it your moral duty to kill atheists and pagans? Surely they have no worth, despite whatever actions might redeem them in real life?

  • Comment removed

  • @ndrummer99 You kill a man. You feel guilty (unless you're a sociopath, the existence of which doesn't make sense in a world governed by God), and act on whatever that leads you to do. If you feel no remorse anyhow, you are punished by the society, you are shunned by others and have no way of propagating your genes. Like most evolutionary traits, this develops over time, so we don't comprehend them in such primitive terms nowadays.

  • bill: "brilliant men, smarter than U!"

    dawkins: *stoneface*

  • @detahdomo He's like an overeducated 12 year old, lost and confused. Reputable people have to stop interviewing the retard.

  • dawkins is fucking adorable. he's like a smartass little kid who's owning his teacher.

  • @ivanmikhailov Unfortunately a smartass kid who easily gives in to the teacher's rules.

  • Words can't describe how much I loathe O'Reilly. I'd say someone should kill him, but Faux would just replace him with another dimwitted puppet.

  • @xcoibyx Or we should stop watching fox news, stop taking it seriously as a news network, and stop letting reputable people interview him.

  • @Bleumange We? Nigga, I don't watch that pathetic excuse of a news program. I have enough common sense to know that "fair and balanced" isn't really in their repertoire.

  • @xcoibyx Igga please, Charles Krauthammer rocks!

  • @nyomythus what about him?

  • @xcoibyx I meant the american collective. However, some people still think that they have something to gain by sparring with Billo, and they accept, because others still take the network seriously.

  • @Bleumange Perhaps they're as enraged by his blatant hypocrisy as I am and want a chance to make him look stupid (which is not a difficult task).

  • @xcoibyx Yeah, well, dawkins is a submissive altar boy in debates. reilly will always spin, pose strawmen and ask loaded questions which take most of the interview's duration. If his opponent saw through all these strategies, Bill's response would either be to shout and drown out his words, or edit the interview to smear the opposing party. Therefore, you always lose. Honestly, I think dave silverman lost, as he fell into one of his traps.

  • "If everybody followed the teachings of Jesus Christ we'd have peace on earth". Some of Jesus's teachings: don't beat your slaves too much, marrying a divorced woman is committing adultery, hate your family, if someone steals from you, don't try to get it back, etc, etc, etc...

  • The idea of god creating is not of science and does not belong in the science class. If religion ever finds an actual scientific theory for creation, maybe then, they can tell this in science classrooms.

Problem is, the religious don't seem to comprehend what a scientific theory must contain.

  • @freethinkerer ...and then use the persecution card despite being a demographical majority.

  • Irish, eh?

suppose that explains a few things...

  • Bill Claims that if everyone believes jesus 100% there will be peace? Well....How bout this passage :

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on Earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.

    (mathew 10:34)

    Read up, Bill.

  • lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll this video is epic

  • "I'm going to show the audience the key part of that interview.

You know, the part in which you say absolutely nothing and I ramble on with complete Pascal's Wager nonsense."

  • this is hilarious

  • ther is not or has ther ever been a man who has walked this earth and has believed in any god that is more intelligent than richard dawkins, regardless of the power of that mans intellect and the things he has done, in the fact he believes he renders himself idiotic through a profound lack of vision and inability to understand the measured facts

  • @0703514r goddamn I didn't be understandings any of that!

  • "Fascism?!?"

  • OReilly such a moron !

  • O'Reilly is an idiot.

  • O'Reilly Irish?? Your not Irish you fucking vertical Neanderthal, Don't even think of putting yourself in there. Your a deluded, brainwashed fool, oblivious to the true origins of life and the universe. Your the product of the teaching of myth, lies and fantasy. You've let your mind be infected by the virus of religion. Your a fucking joke..

  • although all of those things is true about the man doesnt make him any less Irish.

  • 4:15 onwards Dawkins epic U DON GOOFED face, hahaha

  • Religion is going down, down, down.

  • @69jeffrow AND THE RED KNIGHT SUCKs A BIG ONE! HES GOING DOWN DOWN DOWN, RED KNIGHTS GOIN DOWN! .. lol sorry I couldnt help it

  • How can someone be so dense? O'Reilly is disturbing.

  • "Will you listen to me and stop shouting at me?"

    Debating like a boss.

  • hahaha that is not the "key part" of the previous interview at all.

  • leave science in science class and Religion in church

  • How fucken stupid are religious Nutjobs!!!!!!

  • Wow nice picture of Dawkins in the beginning making him look retarded FOX.

  • 2:22 major edit

  • Comment removed

  • I love that Dawkins snapped back at O'Reilly for shouting over him. He's the only one I've seen pull that off successfully.

  • love Dawkins, O'Reilly is just speaking gibberish, O'Reilly is unbelievably frustrating

  • Can any moron get a TV show or an elected office in the US? WOW that guy is a fucking idiot!

  • Words can't describe the picture at 4:51. I laughed so hard.

  • Bill O'Reilly - proof that a benevolent god doesn't exist, otherwise O'Reilly would never have been allowed into the TV industry to showcase his breathtaking smugness and idiocy to the world.

  • O'Reilly is a dick, but he handled the "Stop shouting at me" line pretty well and actually made Dawkins look like the rude one, considering he wasn't really even shouting...

  • dawkins looks like he's got a nasty hang over.

  • The trouble with teaching "alternative theories" to Evolution is that there are hundreds of such stories. Christianity has no monopoly on deluded versions of reality. If you were to fairly present all of them to classrooms so the children could "decide for themselves" there'd be no room for Science and since Science has got it right that would be a travesty.

America is full of idiots. About half of them have no sense of reality. Shocking really!!! They should be embarrassed.

  • Yes Jesus did say to love your brother. What O'Reilly left out is what he said right after that (Sermon on the Mount):

"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, "You good-for-nothing," shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, "You fool," shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell."

    How loving......

  • So basically, because we don't have a around cure for Aids yet, we don't treat patience who've got Aids? O'Reilly needs to get his head examined bigtime. Why to people tollerate his ignorance of... well pretty much anything?

Please tell me no-one takes him serieus, please, give me hope for humanity again and tell me no-one takes his opinion serieus.

  • O'Reilly is an idiot. People who watch Faux News are idiots. We are in for very "interesting times" in the near future. On survival mode, from the island of Kauai.

  • @kauaiphil:"O'Reilly is an idiot"

    I couldn't agree more!!!

His mind is enough to make one vomit

  • I have my doubts that O'Reily really believes the crap he says. Sometimes I think he's just kowtowing to his largely christian audience so he can keep theie support and secure his job. But then again, he may very well be as idiotic as he appears. Both scenarios are disturbing.

  • O'Reilly is a fucking moron. But he's a true representative of his faith.

  • jesus was not a white man, if he even existed at all

  • @skippydeenice No fucking shit, moron. That's been the case since day one of Christianity. Of course, you take advantage of any moment you can try to make the white man look bad.

  • @ToolandMAIDEN14 make the white man look bad? haha if your gonna troll me try to make sense, it's more effective that way

  • That is a really, really, really long thesis, Bill.

  • 0:18 ...Dawkins looks sooooo excited to be there.. lol!

  • The science of intelligent design should be taught in the classroom... the only problem is there is no such thing as "science" of intelligent design. Scientific theories need to be testable.

  • also, when did intelligent design become science? or have anything to do with science?

  • yeah...if we all thew in with jesus christ there would be peace on earth, one we killed all the fags and atheists i mean look at the middle ages when science was banned and christianity reigned free, a truly golden time.

  • At least O'Reilly is not completely stupid ;-)

  • Wait a second... did O'Reilly just say he believes in Evolution? Never mind that he said he thinks it was controlled by Jebus, but he actually accepts Evolution?

    I'm calling bullshit.

  • I have to laugh at "Bill O"'s ONLY introduction to an author, university professor, and universally recognised expert on zoology and biology:

"Richard Dawkins in a committed atheist"

His well edited recap of their last conversation was a hoot too! - Any body who hadn't seen the original conversation would swear that Dawkins was handed his ass , instead of the other way round.

And I wish this intellectually dishonest prick would stop shaming the Irish people by claiming to be one of us!!

  • So if we're all Christian then there would be world peace? This idiot needs to take a couple of history classes.

  • only in america could you get such an ignoramus bible basher trying to lock horns with a genius

  • @johnykoop only in America?? You aren't to bright are you? LOL

  • @ToadsMGodes YES only in America.

  • @johnykoop You do realize that you're a prejudice moron, right?

  • @ToadsMGodes You don't get looney toon creationist presenters in Canada or UK. Only in USA

  • @johnykoop You don't get out much do you

  • 1 Corinthians 11:14

Doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man indeed have long hair, a dishonour it is to him?

Then look at the paintings of jesus.

This is proof that christians dont read bibles.

  • Dawkins already looks pissed at :17

  • (oh, also—ex: fascism....fucking moron)

  • My (fictitious) lord, O'Reilly needs to fucking read a dictionary. Half the words he uses in order to make himself seem smart (ex: thesis, idyllic), he uses very uncomfortably and almost wrongly.

  • Dawkins' face throughout this whole video is golden.

  • I hate when uploaders put their comments on the screen...

  • Ahahaha, did anyone else notice how the two clips shown at the beginning were all about the point that we cannot yet prove evolution? However I wouldn't have expected anything more snake-like from O'Reilly.

  • 2:52 Gotta love Dawkins smile, and his tie is amazing! I want one.

  • can't believe o'reilly just plays back a clip of himself as a recap... or can i?

  • Exhibit A on why having a real debate with a believer is impossible.

  • It is astonishing that public schools in a secular state should teach something derived from a religious text. (Besides, ff that were the case then every religion would have to be included, not just judeo-christian, as to avoid discrimination)

  • Dawkin's face at 1:51 was pretty much my reaction too. What a stupid remark to make.

  • @Norwification I was about to post the same thing. His facial reaction was perfect.

  • To be honest, I don't know why Dawkins does these types of interviews anymore. Obviously Bill is going to make a fool of himself to anybody who has any sense, but there's nothing really Dawkins can do to convince him of anything. I'm not saying his purpose on the program is to convert Bill to Atheism but the interview isn't going to be fair or contain any logical discourse from Bill. It just seems like a waste of time, except to those of us who are entertained by Bill's stupidity.

  • @reallyocean I've wondered the same thing—People like O'Reilly are SO rude and disrespectful and can't hold their own against anything with an IQ higher than a rock. I have no idea why Dawkins even bothers.

  • Bill O'Reilly makes my blood boil. Smug, small-minded and ugly. Why would 'God' create such an individual?!

  • Is Dawkins wearing a Croca-duck tie?

  • @batmanofni He is !! I'm just now noticing -- - - - I need that tie :)

  • bill being a dumbass as usual

  • Dawkins tie is AWESOME

  • Look at O'Reilly trying to sound smart

  • Dawkin's reaction at 1:51 is priceless, lol.

  • @hunterstl My favourite was 4:10: "Fascism!?"
