  • i cant find the highlight of this anywhere....anybody got a link?

  • i went on the field and got furcals autograph.

  • 12 unassissted triple plays? 1 every 30 years? so your saying that they have been playing baseball for 360 years. thats since 1651

  • @RammaJamma22A

    lol "THINE ARTH OUTITH!!!!"

  • i wish the Braves still had Fuccee!!!

  • Furcal was great, even though he did more drunk driving than Lindsay Lohan. I miss his speed at the leadoff spot and he has a cannon for an arm. But dare I say Yunel is still a better defensive SS. More range and just as strong an arm. He's sucked at the plate through April and May, but he's a second half hitter. I'd bet good money that Yunel hits over .300 after the all star break.

  • @EverSoTired

Still, he has not hit a single homer this year, and he was just traded to Toronto (good, I say)

  • @FancyPants559 . so long yunel. welcome gonzo. 17 homers at the break is awesome, and even more impressive that he did it playing in the AL East. i hope he keeps it up. 2010, let's win one for bobby!

  • @EverSoTired Lindsay gets locked up more than Otis on Andy Griffith!!!!! Braves should have keep Fuccee!!!

  • every thirty years? More like 5 this decade.

    It's not that rare

  • It's still one of the rarest, if not the rarest thing in all of baseball, dumbshit.

There's only been 14 of them. That's less than perfect games and 4-home runs in a single game.

  • @staphinfection An unassisted triple play still kind of meaningless oddity, since there's really only one way an unassisted triple play can happen: infielder (most always a second baseman or shortstop) catches a line drive while two or three runners are in motion, tags one runner, and steps on the bag to get another runner out.

The situation where two or more players combine to make a catch is probably even more rare, but I don't see anyone spazzing out about that you you're doing here.

  • @joepod 15 unassisted triple plays ever. 18 assisted triple plays between 2006 and 2010. the unassisted triple play is pretty phenominal.

  • @kylemym It still requires very little skill. It's 99% luck and being in the right place at the right time.

  • i wish i had that ball man nd plus to make it even better my favorite player "RAFAEL FURCAL" did that play nd signed the ball

  • my favorite player and staudium

    thats sick

  • bruntlett got an unassisted triple play to end the game today first in baseball history!

  • Second in history.

  • there are fifteen ppl in baseball who have turned the unassisted triple play

  • last year there was a guy on the bluejays tht got an unassisted triple play

  • haha he is at dodger stadium

  • All time favorite player, anybody got the play

  • Yeah Furcal screwed the Braves! I like Escobar better anyways!

  • Andruw Jones .344 AVG .781 SLG .523 OBP and 0 Errors 1.304 OPS

By the way, good defense is one of the most important attributes behind pitching any team needs. Great pitching+great defense= 14 division titles for the Braves.

  • craigles02 ur a dumbass furcal was one of the best shortstops atlanta ever had and the only time the fans in atlanta are goin to cheer for andruw is when he strikes out.

  • I have a vague memory of Micky Morandini being the last to accomplish it (previous to Furcal)against the Pirates in the early 90s. I think he tagged Bonds for the 3rd out. Whatever, it doesn't matter... great vid.

  • I got an autograph from Furcal up in Montreal when the Braves played up there. (It was one of the last games before they moved to DC). He was very gratious and signed more balls for kids then anyone else.

  • I have two questions, how did you come across the ball and how did you prove that you actually had the real ball?

  • Lol. IceBongs, Furcal made three errors coming off a 7th month back injury. The fact that he was able to play at all was amazing. Being a true fan to any sport/team/player means supporting them trough their good and bad days, but I wouldn't expect a Phillies fan to understand what being a true fan means. After all, one of your own players called you fans.."front runners". W/e the case, congradulations on the W.S

    Btw,this is a great video=)

  • lol im a true fan :D, for one i like the mets, and i still suport out bullpen even though it ant good like Hielman blew alot of saves but i still says hes a good pitcher, i wont be surprised when met splay him hes blows em away lol

  • soooo you like the mets, i bet you like how you lost today..telll castillo i said thank you.

    -yankees fan. :)

im just messing with you, i just had to say it. lol,

  • ok idc i know mets ant great and we do lose i root for my team and the players even if there bad so w.e

  • well those aint true

  • there are talks that furcal is going back to Atlanta!

  • you touched his hand?! Then your a god!! Rafael furcal is awsome!!!

  • MESSAGE TO JAMACONDUDEMAN:Gods don't commit three errors in a single game, let alone a NLCS game.

  • 30 years?

Tulowitzski last year and asdrubal cabrera this year and funny thing is the last three major league players who did it arent even in the major right now furcal and tulowitzski are injured and cabrera is in the minors

  • this was in 2006 =/

  • Dude! I love furcal! Awesome grab.

  • Very cool collectible -- but he didn't even sign it on the sweet spot??? (opposite side of the lable for you neophytes)

  • i wonder if he's found troy tulowitzki yet...

the REAL rookie of the year.

  • Dang, very nice grab

  • Now you got to go get asdrubel cabrera's autograph to complete ur ball

  • furcal's the best! he's gonna lead the dodgers to a world championship!

  • yeah furcal's the man! I wish he was still on the braves though...

  • @completelyrandomcrap i totally miss furky , our current ss Escobar, hits a groundball every time

  • @completelyrandomcrap Fuck yeah

  • 14 as of today.

  • one of my friends on my high school team had an unassisted triple play

  • OMG I totally Love Him!!!

  • cool

  • dodgers rule

  • nice

  • I think some of you are missing something. The ball that Furcal signed wasnt the ball he made the triple play with. Listen to the guy, he says he has the signatures of all the people to turn a triple play on one ball. Obviously, it cant be the same ball. And yes, he needs to get tulowiski's signature if he didnt get it yet.

  • "There's another brave that did somehting that very few people have done.... trivia question for you guys... which braves player hit 4 homers in one game? Maybe more than one, but inly one that I know of."

    Bob Horner

  • Im a dodger fan,so obviously i'd slap furcal senseless if he turned a TP and gave the ball away..

  • There's another brave that did somehting that very few people have done.... trivia question for you guys... which braves player hit 4 homers in one game? Maybe more than one, but inly one that I know of.

  • Mark Whiten.

  • did you get tulowiski's from May 07???

  • April 29, 2007

  • Tuuuuuuulo!

  • because that's what most people do when they make a play that almost never happens as a memory of it

  • happened thsi year lol

  • IM GLAD HES A DODGER NOW

  • Braves were in another triple unasisted triple play when chipper jones hit a linedrive to shortstop and he touched second and tagged the other runner on April 29, 2007 against the Rockies

  • Make that 13 unassisted Triple Plays.

  • do you have mickys?

  • WOW!!! that is the best memoriblia ever

  • Yeah when was the play, and how did you get the ball? Enquiring minds want to know!

  • Actually it was done first in 1878. Paul Hines of the Providence Grays. They were playing the Boston Red Caps.

  • That is awesome

  • When was the play and how did you get the ball?

  • I can answer your first question:

Rafael Furcal executed the unassisted triple play on August 10, 2003 against the St. Louis Caridinals. Too bad it didn't help the Braves win.

  • one of the best shorstops in his league.

  • furcal is a great all around player

  • actually the first unassisted triple play was executed by Paul Hines in 1879; he only tagged third base when two runners had already passed third base, which at that time meant both runners were out.

And yes Furcal is a favorite player of mine. He runs fast, throws fast. Heck, he's a fairly decent switch-hitter!

  • awesome! best play ever.
