Remember seeing this movie several times, as a child, and still, i dont understand it. What is this?! I think i were afraid of this movie. Like it were a horror movie.
Remember that in the 1980's, TV's were only 625i (PAL) or 576i (NTSC) in standard, not like the 1080p we have now. And to make sure that all programs (ie movies, ads, etc) kept within the limits of 1980's TV, the "resolution" was crimped here to 240p or 240i. I'm sure a Blu-Ray version of this movie and video would be in 1080p format. i=interlaced scan (ie draw all odd lines first and 1/50 second later draw all even lines). p=progrsssive scan (ie draw all lines at once every 1/100 seconds).
everybody AND I MEAN EVERYBODY who was old enough to remember this, MY GOD i think ppl are going on a timemachine build competition and i will sponsor the one who wins it! :)

I saw the NeverEnding Story at the movies in 1984 when I was 7 years old. It started my love of fantasy which continues to this day. I will never forget the feeling of walking out of that cinema that day.
@Gav770 I never saw it in the theater i was only 4, but i will say its one of the earliest fantasy movies i can remember watching. It too got me into the realm of fantasy stories of this kind. Movies like Never Ending Story, Labyrinth, Dark Chrystal were wonderful and awesome movies that still hold fond memories of when i was a child.
Tomorrow night (Friday, Nov. 4) at midnight, for the first time in more than a decade, Noah Hathaway (Atreyu) will attend a screening of The Neverending Story. The Nuart Theater in West L.A. will also show the trailer for Noah's new film Sushi Girl

@velanapontinha why remake a classic? money? everything's already been done?
i don't understand all these classic remakes lately. just leave it alone, movie makers. you're gonna improve on wizard of oz? really?! how? take it in another, cool direction? mmmm...maybe. we want the past in the present but when it gets there it just isn't the same as we remember it because we aren't the person we were anymore.

@LadyMidnight31 No one from this movie committed suicide, I believe the person was thinking of the kid that played Bastion in the second film(Jonathan Brandis) he committed suicide.
We all had that hairstyle when I was in high school. Music was better, peaceful, and easy to listen to. Then when the movie Top Gun was released, every guys went for the flattop.
Need woman for cooking! For all the other stuff I´ve got my four supermodels at the beach. An experimental video-music-project on my channel. Some hate it, some just don´t like it. But see for yourself. On my channel. Ay caramba!
I never thought this was "just a movie", it was the best movie I've ever saw. I remember I used to cry and always want to see it over and over again. Hearing the song just bring up memories and a need to cry.
@Mayshoshy Yep, for me, it was a way of life really. Huge impact on my childhood too. I always feel really hurt inside when people today criticise it as being 'lame', as having 'crap special effects', what have you. To us, it was pure magic and still is. The message is still strong and relevant, even more so today perhaps.
@laocanada Follow your own dreams in particular. We'll live by your parents and you can do, or follow your own dreams. Life is short, it is fanciful. But the ones that follow.
@Teutonlc Unbelievably hate filled comment. Dont you get it, Dont any of the bigots ever get it.GAY is HUMAN. In the 80's people had finally learned and felt and saw that HUMANS were fine just being human. Live like there are hopes and dreams. NOT like its all about belittling ANYONE just so you can feel superior. Then again I see your name is from a people who felt so small they committed genocide rather than accept they had never grown any compassion.
The 80's sure do rule, a great time to be a kid. Kids these days just have no respect with "gangsta" street rappers and manufactured pop stars as idols and role models, god help them.
I used to watch this movie many times when I was little kid... it is the generation where we used to borrow video tape and play it in betamax ... gosh... even the song i still remember... Thanks for the uploads. =)
One of my favorit movie when I was young, the princess was sooo cute. I even borrowd the book, never read it though it was like 1000page ..it impressed the girls tho :P
I was a teen (for a while) in the '80s. You kids are right about how fantastic it was. It was much more free. We only worried about the Soviet bombs, and then we didn't really worry at all. The best part is nobody was walking around with those stupid phones, staring at them. We checked each other out. That's why we looked so awesome.
I wish i was a teen in the 80's, i beat that was the best time to be a teen great music, great movie's. and the girls look fucking hot, not like now they all want to be the next slut next door!
