  • Excellent! I just learned that tune this morning from the Ellum Wood cd. I just played to your video and I'm really close. No one else seems to play it this way, even Hiram Stamper, recorded by Bruce Greene in 1977 doesn't really. Hats off to ya!

  • my great great grandpa wrote this tune look him up fiddler shade slone

  • Nice Brian, I've been working on a bunch fo Bruce Greene stuff lately too...Love the spooky sounding Kentucky tunes... Great job as usual.

  • Thanks Steve! I have a huge back-log of stuff to learn from a workshop I took with Bruce back in April. Hope to see some more tunes from you on here soon. Cheers!

  • Hey Brian... just finally got around to posting a few new YouTube fiddle videos... Hope you can take a look when you get a minute...

  • I am a novice UK old time fiddler and a big fan of this tune. Your rendition of this tune is the dogs bollocks, no mistake.

  • Thanks! As an American I'd never heard the expression "dog's bollocks" before, but I'm glad it's positive! As you know there are probably a hundred different versions of this tune. I play another variation of this tune that I learned from the playing of Snake Chapman which I like a lot as well. Thanks for the kind words!

  • reminds me of my trip to ireland

  • Wonderfully ancient!
