  • Effortless cooking with Carl Perkins

  • Mr F*****N Cool.

  • his voice matured in a positive way over the years, and he fits his music well

  • Caaaaarrrllll!!I loved it♫

  • Carl Perkins was one of the best rockers. I actually perfer him over Elvis. This man was sorely underated.

  • @crub90706 That`s Mr. Carl Perkins Father of Rock A Billie !! Mr. Carl Perkins Taught Em all their first lessons !

  • Nice Song..!

  • всё здорово. но когда услышишь Элвиса, даже смешно становится сравнивать. Не родилось пока второго короля. Король был и есть - ОДИН!

  • Great job! Greetings from Zacatecas Mexico

  • never got the credit he deserved

  • God blesses perkins carl for his music, rockabilly gonna rise again

  • he wrote honey don't, matchbox and fucking blue suede shoes, these allone make him a legend!

he was one of the pioneers of rock n roll.

he was there when it happened, he watched memphis give birth to rock n roll!

  • Awesome Carl !! Thumbs Up Brother

    TCB DANNY

  • Carl was a dear friend. We played a lot of telethon's together. His sister was married to my cuz. How I grew to know him since I was born. Trust me he could walk on stage with you & the energy level exploded with his first note. R.I.P.Bro.

  • Perkins--one KOOL KAT

  • Nothing better or more honest than bare to the bones , pure, talent.

  • Nice to see Noel Edmunds blowing up a storm on drums.

PS: Carl is playing a bad, black G&L Broadcaster - cool gee-tar & rare today. I have one.

  • @elvis8burgers and tosh from the bill on rythme guitar

  • @dragonfitter - definitely Tosh from the Bill ! Looking a tad nervous methinks too.

  • The debate about where Rock and Roll came from or was born will depend on the bias and roots of the person arguing for a particular source. The fact is, R'nR was an evolution of music that was influenced by big band blues and jazz, by country, western swing and large portion of blues and rythm and blues. The fact is rock and roll and blues was all but dead to king country music until The Beatles the Stones and The Brits showed the world what it could become and did. Fact is Rap screwed it all.

  • he's the king of rockabilly, and this is all right...

  • What a badass!!!

  • Better read Carls book - called "Go Cat Go", which I believe is out of printing. But some great insight when they were just starting out. Elvis and Carl, as well as a few others.

  • fuck. i wanted to switch that video off, but i couldn't! omfg! omfg! omfg! :)))

  • Doesn't matter...with no Perkins there was no Presley.

  • Hot Digitty.. that was good music!

  • One of the ALL TIME greatest rock and rollers!

    5 STAR-THUMBS UP

  • Blues singer Arthur Crudup made this song and registered it in 46 , nothing to do with Carl Perkins .

  • Looks like Noel Edmonds on drums

  • and tosh from the bill on rythem guitar

  • lol, it's an all star line up

  • he always wears the glasses ;o

keep on listening this song ;o

  • R.I.P. Elvis

  • This is ok but....I like more Elvis version...

  • That's crazy cool - Carl can really tear it up on the guitar

  • @bbackriders: That's not alright! It was Perkins hit, after a car crash of Perkins it wasn't possilbe for him to sing the song, so elvis made his first great hit with it ;)

  • ......you're right.

  • anybody knows if this broadcast is available on dvd?

  • That was NOT Carl Perkins' song...it was Arthur Crudup's song...This was Elvis's first big hit and what is regarded as the song that started Rock 'n Roll.

Everyone remembers Elvis, and Jerry Lee few remember what an influence Carl Perkins was in those days.

Carl rips this one up in his usual style...love this version!

  • Started Rock N' Roll? Has everyone forgotten Bill Haley and his Comets?

  • actually rocket 88 is widely regarded as the song that started rock and roll. but i guess that is a matter of debate:)

  • @bbackriders

no no no no no, the first song considered Rock was "Rocket in my pocket" by Ike Turner in 1948 But Ike was black so, they had to find a white guy to give credit for founding Rock N Roll, you can look it up or just ask Little Richard. and anyway, Elvis couldn't even read music let alone play guitar. Elvis sucked! But for the real roots of Rock N Roll give Hoagy Carmichael a try. "To have and have not" with Humphrey Bogart. Hoagy wrote "moonlight serenade." Big Band is the root

  • @bbackriders Personally I dont think anybody gives a fuck who the song belonged too.......I like the way Carl did it the best by far.

  • elvis never wrote a song butwipe it was his

  • @ERICHOLDS Elvis did write 2 songs in the 1960's

  • Very cool. BTW that's his son Stan on drums and his son Gregg on bass

  • He sure could get down on that guitar though and that was his song after all. Great job.

  • That was Elvis song.

  • he looks a lot older then 55 in this video.

  • YEP!

But I think it´s the grey hair!

If he ´d dye his hair black, he wouldnt look so old!

  • its actually a wig lol

  • This man Is the greatest ! He is so natural it's scarey !! The KING

  • He's natural because he invented this style basically. The king for sure in my book.

  • This Music will never die!

    Rock'n Roll forever !!!

  • The king guitarist of Rockabilly-no one even shares the same house as Carl.

  • Carl was a real bad azz....

  • Carl Perkins was great influenced alot of musicians. R.I.P.

  • This version kicks ass!!! :D

  • Einer der größten!!!

  • Thank you for still lovin' me

  • Nice tele.

  • Lotsa people don't know what a great picker Carl Perkins was...I remember an interview where he was talking about writing 'Honey Don't'...he'd never seen or heard going from an E to a C, so why not???

  • The King of Rockabilly....Carl, Elvis,The Killer and Johnny Cash were mates, ..the Million Dollar Quartet.

  • regardless of what anybody thinks it was a privilege to be there during the real rock and roll era!!

  • Comment removed

  • FACT: If it wasn't for guys like Carl Perkins, Charles Edward Berry, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly & Little Richard, there never would've been the BEATLES.

  • SUPERRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!

  • Elvis more well known than Carl among people who don't know music.

Those who know the music and the history of rock and roll however, revere Carl Perkins, just like the Beatles and Clapton, etc did.

    Music is a big world.

It does not detract from the wonder that was Elvis to recognize that Carl was a pioneer and a legend among the people who know.

  • Elvis's pinky is more well known than Carl Perkins.

  • you dont know shit

  • All true about his music and all, but IS THAT HAIR REAL? :)

  • Its probably real enough... But who grew it?... now thats another question...

  • He wore a hairpiece cos of how much hair he lost after his car accident in '56.

  • Fantastic Carl and thanx for Posting!

    Danny

  • he definately gets down!!!

    what a legend.

  • Perkin's is the best, with his own rockabilly style, he's often imitated but never duplicated

  • absolutely the best.classic carl doing what he did best.love you man, rest in peace.

  • Carl Perkins one of the most complete artist Guitar player composer just like chuck berry

  • HIS SONG LIVES FOREVER

  • Carl is the king, fuck elvis

  • yeah keep telling yourself that dickhead, elvis is the knig....fact

  • Youre right, elvis was the knig of rock'n'roll..you meant king? But now, Elvis didn't invent or write anything, Carl Perkins did..So if Pelvis is the king, Carl is the God..

  • Amen brother.

  • Word! Carl was the real deal!

  • talk about soul

  • one of the most underrated artistes ever he set standards others copied

  • @frank654123

thats right . he sure did

  • one of the most versatile underated performerss ever he wasn't great just there to be copied

  • It doesnt matter all the negative comments he is still contributed to rock n roll. He wrote Blue suede shoes .

  • If Carl hadn't gotten into a horrible accident after his release of Blue Suede Shoes, he would have been bigger than Elvis with the momentum he would have had.

  • I don't think so... I don't think that's possible

  • Is THAT what happened to him! I always liked hes Blue Suede Shoes soooo much more than e's. This one sounds perty good too!

  • @JimCashFan Funny isn't it, the amount of singers who would have been bigger than Elvis, if only this, or if only that. Carl made some great records, and will be remembered for his part in the rock and roll journey. But he would never have been bigger than Elvis, unless he stood on stilts. I bet the royalties from Elvis's recording of Blue Suede Shoes came in handy. How good is that, have a hit record as writer, then get someone to record another hit version, and cry all the way to the bank

  • @frankiehiyo Good point. I'm betting Carl wasn't too upset over Elvis's version. I didn't mean to seem too hostile in my comments. It's been a long time since I've posted that.

  • yes/ fab , mr rockabilly

  • Quality song... I also like the version where he duoed up with Jerry Lee Lewis for a few of their songs too!

  • Carl has always done an outstanding version of this song through the years, second only to Elvis himself.
