if you get interrupted while casting an ability (like counterspell from a mage/kick from a rouge...) the school of the cast you attempted to cast is gonna be locked. ONLY this school. It is different than silence as you can see... So, yeah, both of your questions are right. if he gets an interrupt from somewhere , hes still able to icelance. or if he uses his time to attack with instants instead of casting bigger spells, theres no way he can be interrupted if hes not casting. :)
@cheesesmice silence is a magical effect, you can even dispell it. also, there are many talents that can shorten the length of any silence. If you get interrupted, the particular casting school is gonna be locked. additionally, the lock is not influenced by dimishing returns! (dimishing returns= cc's/stuns/silence decrease in their length if you use them on one target to often over a short time) hope everything is clear now :)

I try to play your playstyle and so far always come in top 5. For bgs (70 bracket) my friend keeps telling me it's all gamma change at 85 but I say fuck em :)
@basser159 My mage at 85 is always top 3 damage in BGs with lesser gear than FMG here, even when thats not what I'm trying to do. I never go into a BG and go "I think I'm gonna just dick around and try to top damage." Its not about the damage, its about timing, teamwork, strategy, and CC. You'll love fire at 85, trust me.

For people that watch your videos alot i sugest you cut your intro down to like 10-20 seconds, but otherwise Awsome vid. Personally i just skip to like 45 seconds because it is so long.
dam what trips me out about your vids is that you only play with one action bar visibal. dont get me wrong im a keybinder so i can pretty much play blind but i still like to have my bars within sight

is it just me or does blizz seriously need to buff fire for pvp, scorch needs at least a 10% buff in damage, fire mastery needs reworking, and i would like to see them bring back the old blast wave.

Can anyone tell me what you see in this guy? He back pedals and his spec almost seems PvE oriented. I don't understand the praise. And please don't respond with,"Well, where are your videos?" All I want to know is why you think he's good.
@irockirvin Well first off, almost anyone can do this, it just all depends on the skill level. This is just a montage, all of the people in that video could have been horrible. And second off, just because he did shouldn't make him get all this praise. I could see most mages pulling off those situations. But what I want to know is why you think his technique is good. Back pedaling and using Ice Lance spam doesn't seem ideal for a fire mage who could have such more potential.
@UpTheIrons1994 There is a difference between using backpedal in different situations. Backpedalling to run away from your target = very bad. Backpedalling to aim your DB = good. You're sure you hit your target, your target needs to run more before he runs trough your char which will make DB miss. Why scorch instead of ice lance? Well I guess the main reason is that scorch can be interrupted which causes lockdown in fire. Also you can only interrupt your scorch with a /stopcasting macro.
@deadly840 Back pedaling is never good. I don't need to back pedal to aim my DB. And yes, I do use a /stopcasting macro for my scorch and it seems fine, not sure why that's a bad thing. Thanks for the response, though.
@UpTheIrons1994 Why I think he's good... He has fast reactions. Knows almost perfectly to use what abilty in what situation. He manages to stay focused even when he comes low health or when there are multiple targets. Also is some way or another he kills his targets even when they are with 2 to 4 people. Oh yeah and his talents are PVE oriented but he still owns people with gear and pvp talents.
@deadly840 Yeah, that I won't deny, he does have good spell selection and doesn't stumble on his choice, but I think this just takes practice. There's been a rise in fire mages recently and he's been one forever, he's just been in the situation more than most people.

is it just me or does blizz seriously need to buff fire for pvp, scorch needs at least a 10% buff in damage, fire mastery needs reworking, and i would like to see them bring back the old blast wave.

@irockirvin Well first off, almost anyone can do this, it just all depends on the skill level. This is just a montage, all of the people in that video could have been horrible. And second off, just because he did shouldn't make him get all this praise. I could see most mages pulling off those situations. But what I want to know is why you think his technique is good. Back pedaling and using Ice Lance spam doesn't seem ideal for a fire mage who could have such more potential.

@UpTheIrons1994 There is a difference between using backpedal in different situations. Backpedalling to run away from your target = very bad. Backpedalling to aim your DB = good. You're sure you hit your target, your target needs to run more before he runs trough your char which will make DB miss. Why scorch instead of ice lance? Well I guess the main reason is that scorch can be interrupted which causes lockdown in fire. Also you can only interrupt your scorch with a /stopcasting macro.

@deadly840 Back pedaling is never good. I don't need to back pedal to aim my DB. And yes, I do use a /stopcasting macro for my scorch and it seems fine, not sure why that's a bad thing. Thanks for the response, though.

@UpTheIrons1994 Why I think he's good... He has fast reactions. Knows almost perfectly to use what abilty in what situation. He manages to stay focused even when he comes low health or when there are multiple targets. Also is some way or another he kills his targets even when they are with 2 to 4 people. Oh yeah and his talents are PVE oriented but he still owns people with gear and pvp talents.

@deadly840 Yeah, that I won't deny, he does have good spell selection and doesn't stumble on his choice, but I think this just takes practice. There's been a rise in fire mages recently and he's been one forever, he's just been in the situation more than most people.
