I just had this case, last month-after my bird get sick, I brought it to a certified bird-vet, we tried some special liver treatments, I changed the food and all what I could do. But she told me, I will have him just a year more or so. Now a year was gone, the condition got more worse, she checked him and told me, it's better to let him go, he start to suffer yet. It was hard - but the right thing.

Unbelievably cruel. A bird just doesn't suddenly start sounding like this when it's breathing. This is a condition that could have been solved by taking it to the vet AS SOON AS YOU HEARD THE WEIRD BREATHING!! Birds have very sensitive respiratory tracts. At this point, there's nothing to do but film. You waited too long. The infection is too deep. You killed your bird out of ignorance. Great job torturing an innocent animal to a painful, and unnecessary death.

It is strange that I chose to watch this;a sad curiosity. They say misery loves company. This bird most likely has some form of infection like the flu, possibly a fungus or unkown ingestion. There isn't a great deal that can be done in many circumstances like that. I hate the suffering of any creature. Death is the reality we will all face someday. This little guy seemed to want to walk around and play with his toys just like a kid when their sick. "Sad" part of life.

I had a cockatiel, he was really sweet and smart. I've never had a cockatiel to this day that was as sweet as he was. But then, he was just in the bottom of his cage. I realized that was a sign of sickness for a bird not to be climbing all that much, but then he just started violently shaking around in his cage and banged his head against his food several times. He looked kinda... posessed the way he was twitching. I still don't know what caused him to do what, do you know?

@bushyjodz Oh just shut the Hell up already. Once a bird gets sick (especially with a respiratory illness), that's pretty much the end of it. If a parrot gets sick from a cold draft in the middle of the night, chances are very good it won't even live through the night.
As I understand it, their respiratory systems are quite a bit different from ours. Veterinary science hasn't developed enough to adequately care for them. You and the other jackholes here should keep that in mind.

This is so sick. I can't believe that instead of taking this poor bird to a vet where you SHOULD have taken it when you noticed it was sick right away, you grab your f*cking camera and put it dying on Youtube. LyeLye, I wish I could upvote you more. Instead of just taking video of the poor animal, they should have looked for an avian veterinarian. This video is hardly educational when it doesn't even mentioned that you should take a bird showing these symptoms to an exotics/avian veterinarian. Even humane euthanasia is better than letting the poor animal suffer to death. Disgusting.

It is strange that I chose to watch this;a sad curiosity. They say misery loves company. This bird most likely has some form of infection like the flu, possibly a fungus or unkown ingestion. There isn't a great deal that can be done in many circumstances like that. I hate the suffering of any creature. Death is the reality we will all face someday. This little guy seemed to want to walk around and play with his toys just like a kid when their sick. "Sad" part of life.

I can understand posting A video for the education purpose but 5 videos??? I have had birds all my life, of different breeds. The answer was to euthanise this bird instead of allowing him to suffer when it became obvious he was not going to pull through. After the 1st video he belonged in your arms till you made it to the vets to do what was right.

I had a cockatiel, he was really sweet and smart. I've never had a cockatiel to this day that was as sweet as he was. But then, he was just in the bottom of his cage. I realized that was a sign of sickness for a bird not to be climbing all that much, but then he just started violently shaking around in his cage and banged his head against his food several times. He looked kinda... posessed the way he was twitching. I still don't know what caused him to do what, do you know?

My bird got sick like this.. he lost a lot of trust in me because of the way I had to administer medicine (he wouldn't eat it on his food, so I had to hold him and plunger-feed him slowly every day). He's better now, and I hope I can gain his trust again and he'll never get sick like this again!

I know mine; "find out what's wrong", "help it", "get it to a vet", and if it can't be helped "make it comfortable", "stop the pain". It would NOT be "get a camera so I can tape this". My friend Marley the cockatiel died in my presence as well.for two days I was trying to desperately get my parents to help me and especially marley out but they kept postponing it cuz they're a bunch of heartless retarded shmucks. Marley died in a warm little bed I made for him and I watched his last helpless and tiny breath, knowing we could have done something but most of us chose not to cuz Marley was just an "animal" to my parents... I really loved that bird, we had the best of fun...

I travelled miles 2 save my mate, in my lap talking to him saying he will be ok and i loved him. I always keeped a animal tin so if anything went wrong i could afford it ,and any rescued animal i got i did my homework on them so if they did get sick i knew i could help as much as i could. @bushyjodz Oh just shut the Hell up already. Once a bird gets sick (especially with a respiratory illness), that's pretty much the end of it. If a parrot gets sick from a cold draft in the middle of the night, chances are very good it won't even live through the night.
As I understand it, their respiratory systems are quite a bit different from ours. Veterinary science hasn't developed enough to adequately care for them. You and the other jackholes here should keep that in mind.
