I got mine for almost a year and it's just a little bit rusty, but that's my fault, I really clean it -.-'

Anyhow, It's a real beauty and it's not too heavy (3280g). It's pretty long, it's 1142mm long (Thanks operating instruction book :D) . It's also very powerful! I highly recommend it!

@laksemann The blawk hawk does have a slight amount of recoil and if you are not using a tripod or a mount and are just holding the rifle you will notice a few inches in the accuracy of each shot due to the jumping around. I had one for about 5 months now mine is at 1400fps now due to modifactions.

rule of thumb when buying air guns, if made by gammo dont buy -goes for every thing actually- if they advertise the fps like crazy dont buy and if they advertise how much penatration it has dont buy and if they advertise groupings for 20 yards dont buy, i justed saved you from wasteing money.

@Davieboii1 the crosman phantom is soo much better! this one is really bad! I have owned both and this airgun's scope keeps bouncing off! With the phantom I can get pidgeon shots at 150 yds!

Also the recoil of this gun is way too much! and it is heavier and louder than other airguns as well as weaker than other ones! I STRONGLY suggest that if u are getting an airgun, to get a crosman quest 1000x or a crosman phantom! DONT get this one!

Yes to needing a permit for the 1000fps model and no to the 500fps model. This clown is going to loose a finger. He had his finger on the trigger when he was loading a pellet in the chamber. If there is no beartrap on the gun and the trigger is pulled while loading, the barrel closes damn fast and mashed finger. OOOUUUUUCH!!!! Did it once with my old Slavia. It only shot about 200fps and I won't do that twice. That was 30 years ago.

It's a break-barrel spring-piston gun. You cock it and compress the spring by "breaking" the barrel as shown in the vid. Compresses a spring that drives a piston that then compresses air behind the pellet when you pull the trigger and that air drives the pellet.

Hole in hole at 20 metres.

Very crisp trigger, and very good sound. No twang at all!! Sounds even better than my new Weihrauch HW50s.

Cons : Scope isn't great, so a better scope (and higher mag.) would be good.

Rubber butt plate is as hard as wood,,.. no shock stopper at all. But ain´t no show stopper either.

Safety is just a plastic thing. Looks and feels weak.

Pros : VERY accurate

Very good sound

Feels generaly very reliable and solid

Good results, everyone knows it dont shoot 1000fps. but at the above speeds its fast shooter. i think using 8.44 grain pellets it hits at 6.5 foot pounds, im not sure at what range though.

Both are equally well made. The decision is up to you. About accuracy, probably no difference there.

@EEKSPLEE it's the recoil, the pad in the stock allows alot of movement back and forth, there is a spring compressed with over 40 pounds of force in there, so it will move.

i got the same rifle. its scope ring sucks.. it fell off after few shots ..and then it is worn out.. since it is made out of aluminum it is very easy to wear out. not good.. i wish they made it of steel or something which is hard to wear out fast.. i would say rifle is great and accuracy is deadly but scope ring sucks bad,.. i hope ruger company can read this..

@RCJproductions1 It comes as a complete package. The scope itself is just mediocre. However the rifle is worth almost 2,5 times the price of this kit in comparison to the more expensive brands such as weihrauch and RWS. It can actually compare to the more expensive rifles. Unlike other rifles of this price category this rifle doesn´t feature a strange twaing sound when shooting. It is very reliable and well made.

it's also good for pest-control for hunting rabbits,ducks ect.

also:there are rings in the front of the gun,but after a few times of shooting they get loose.The best solution is to replace them with good quality rings.

Ah! The Big cat is also very powerful! But I didn't shot one before... Does it have much recoil? The Blackhawk does. But 5 birds and 2 squirrels was a good hunt i guess! I am not allowed to hunt down these darn crows we always got in our garden form my parents but also it isnt allowed from the Dierenbescherming, thats Dutch for Animalprotection, thats a group of guys that protect animals...

I just got one of these - fired about 200 rounds so far. Although the scope is sub par, the weapon itself is very nice. Although I'm not using the scope (I'll give that to my son) this thing is supper accurate, and really has a punch. Fill a soda can with water, and this thing will split the can from top to bottom from the shock wave. Well worth the money, and probably the best bang for the buck out there.

@MelancholyBlues91 overall i give it a 9 ...only because it is heavy i like it being all black looks nice , the scope is pretty good i dialed it in last night and was right on with it. it come with fiber optic sights but i didnt bother with adjusting those. it is pretty loud too ...like a .22 ! almost and oh yeah when i fire it...it actually smokes and i have no idea what that is...but yeah i can't stop picking it up and messing with it.

Dont go for the winchester 1000 either. It is powerful enough, but scatters pellets all over the place. The stock screws come loose every ten or so shots also.

This is the worst air rifle I've ever owned. The accuracy is way off, the safety is a joke you can't really put it back on safe. The recoil is heavy, so is the rifle. Have fun using your iron sights because the rear sight is always too high. Its junk!
