  • It's strange to see a European Goldfinch in a cage.. When here in the UK they are wild and free, and visit my garden evryday to feed off niger seeds.

  • @hstadam94 they wll die the first second if they are free by honey eaters magpies even bird the size of them

  • @Theafgstar1 What are you talking about? I said they are Wild Birds in the UK and it's quite strange and down hearting to see them in a cage.

  • @hstadam94 they will die they were born in captivity

  • @Theafgstar1 I know they would die if you release them into the wild after brought up in captivity. But i'm saying it's a bit down hearting seeing Wild British Birds kept as pets in small cages in other countries. Pet birds should be kept in an aivary at least, it's cruel to keep them in a small cage all the time. Or at least let them fly round your house for a bit.

  • he looks and sounds lonley, give him some flight space and cheer the little guy up

  • its time to catch them now is the season

  • You got a good one there. Nice song. The goldfinch is my favorite of the song birds. Par Siskins (Sho Lin)

  • My Goldfinch doen't sing anymore

do you know what i can do?

  • ^.^

  • wow ! they sound grogeous...lol & my names lily!!!:D

  • i want this video on a cd to play in a cd player. any ideas how to do it lol?

  • Beautiful bird, take care of him.

  • i'm always surprised to see comments like "let the thing go" or "oh it's so much better in freedom" get a life get to know these birds before you just talk non sense, these are born in captivity and would not survive in a wild. So get a grip and leave us, bird lovers alone!

  • @soufianeb you rock man you as so your bird. people speak as if we are making a crime. let them get a life

  • it much better seeing 1 free

  • @TheCoco47

Setting a captive bird free is a death sentence. It's like sending a new born child to a battle field.

  • beauttttiiffull bird (:

    just a few things though;

    1) that is a male.. girls dont have bright colours like that, and they definately dont sing like that! my dad grew up with them in greece all his life and would know

    2) please, PLEASE trim his beak ! he cant eat properly like that, it's much too long

i'm not gonna say anything about the cage, or to set it free, cus i've got 2 finches of my own in cages like that and they're perfectly happy! if anything, PLEASE trim his beak though :(

  • @littlemissvolcom Female European goldfinches look exactly the same as males.

  • @Velasca sorry, they don't.

on males, the red/orange mask extends to the eyes or further, giving them more colour, when compared to the female whose mask stops half past the eye. the females have a dull brown/black colour on the shoulder of their wings and the males have pure black.

  • @littlemissvolcom hes beak is just like that nothing rong my dad hade 17 beaks were like that nothing rong

  • Lilly?u mean this is a female Goldfinch?I thought only males sing. I can't see well the red mark past his eye as dd shot was quite far.

  • i saw 2 in the wild yesterday. my photo even made the news!

  • Wow, is it illegal to keep a gold finch in the usa? beautiful bird sounds lovely

  • do u no were 2 by any of them

  • Let the poor thing go!

  • behave

  • I LOVE THAT FUCKIN BIRD!!!

  • omg michelle 2 cute i want to go to ur house again its been like a week lol :) Ari XD

  • is this guy captive caught or wild?

  • I agree, goldfinches should be in an aviary or large flight cages.

  • goldfinches are the shit, i have my self one and two others that are half goldfinch and half canariens..

  • OVO JA NEBI DRZO DAN OVO NIOSTA NEVALJA

  • ma ima jako bele noge što znači da je čuvan dosta dugo ili je izlegnut u kavezu, mrmlja još ture pa pretpostavljam da je mlad mada me malo buni dužina kljuna

  • Beautiful song but it sounds so much better when you hear it from a tree rather than a cage. I went to Malaga last year and could not believe that people keep these birds in cages. Would any of us like to spend the rest of our days in one room ??

  • @morrisndoris Yeah what do you think living in America feels like.

  • Mlad ali ima perspektivu !

  • kako znas da je mlad ?

  • wow...thats fantastic -thanks.

  • my birds love him

  • haha nice bird lol

  • bato svaka cast tvojoj stajgli

  • Not sure what your bird is saying - I eventually got 2 goldfinches to come to the bird table, one of them tried to get into the conservatory as soon as I started playing this again. If I play any of the other vids on youtube they don't take any notice, even the bluetits came up to the window as soon as I play this. The robin is getting awful aggitated with all the birds coming into the garden. Never realised how territoral they are.

  • Thanks for uploading this - I put up a bird table but nothing was coming round, so I put the laptop out in the concervatry and started playing this and the wild birds flocked (no goldfinches yet though). Worked so well 2 robins flew into the concervatry :-)

  • I played this and all my birds started singing .lol
