Hello i have a HR 2510 and i was looking to replace the bulb which is blown, thinking about replacing it with an LED would that be a good idea? or should i go back with the original bulb, what kind of LED should i use
@96xr400 You can use LED for your display illumination but you will need the correct voltage also remember LED is polarity sensitive so must be installed correctly.
Hi, This is really cool. I was very pleased to come across your video's. I love radio's I have quiet a few here from the CB and Ham era's. I have 2x Uniden HR-2510's that I have kept from my Teenage years that had blown finals. One also has a bleeding LCD. I think in one they have replaced it with the sad crossed over final. Would you be interested in giving me some advice in restoring these lovely old radios? ~Ken~ .-.-.
hey pal. cant find a solution to my problem. looks like you could be the man to talk to. the output on my lincoln seems to be ok. however it doesnt seem to be receiving very well. especially on fm. signals register on the meter but wont break the squelch! can you shine any light on the subject? if i were down south i'd just pay you to do it ha ha. any help gratefully received. cheers
@callyboygid Could just need re-aligning or it could be a fault but i would only be guessing without seeing the radio myself, i would suggest having it checked over by someone who knows these radios well to find out what it could be.
@NitroMaximus The bias resistor which was burned out in this radio was "R157" which is 10 Ohm, they are a common resistor so can be purchased from most component suppliers.
@weazle66 Thanks weazle although my lincoln appears to work fine for some reason i can only get the Driver down to 60.2mA, The Final is set at 50mA just fine. So im looking at comonents around the driver.
@manonhill12 You have not purchased any from me my friend as there are two sellers on Ebay and you just purchased them from the other guy who is more expensive!! Now you see if you were checking you would have seen that my Ebay name is also "weazle66"
There is no MRF477 eleflow kit, i use the 2SC1945 to replace the MRF477 which i also sell on Ebay! - That's what this video is all about..
HI I have a lincoln and a sadelta echo master plus I think it is called with twin meters! can anyone one tell me which colours go to which pins? also the mic is 4 pin at present and the lincoln is 5 pin any ideas? thanks Ian
Well done and Im sure we all agree that we learn from your video's, I love watching them and get alot out of them, can you tell me where you got your knowledge from as we all have to start somewhere
A good friend of mine from the old days was a RF design and build engineer for Marconi and he also repaired CB and Ham radio, that's where much of my knowledge comes from and also much i have learned from nearly 30 years of experience.
I can tell you nothing replaces actual experience as RF electronics is the most difficult field of electronics to work in that's why i never assume anything when i am repairing radios!

why not use the MRF 497 final and replace the pre driver
manonhill12 9 months ago
@manonhill12 The MRF497 is obsolete just like the MRF477 and when you can find genuine ones they are expensive!

@sandydogy Try looking on the net, you should find the information quite easily - i have listed the Lincoln 5 pin wiring below.
1 = mic/audio
2 = sheild/earth
3 = TX
4 = UP
5 = Down
