this yarn was a bought one (shame on me ;) ) but I mostly spin on a wheel and then do a 3 ply. I splice it with the needle, then lay the ends into ea other, chew it and felt it by rubbing the ends between my hands
This is a great video because it addresses a number of nalbinding facets. I notice you use what some folks call a "spit splice" to join. For single ply yarn, have you used a drop spindle to make the splice?
thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! this video has helped me IMMENSELY in learning how to do the york stitch!!!! please put up MORE naalbinding stitches!! PLEASE!!!!
I zigzag-fold my yarn so I can pull out by hand as needed like this: workpiece_/\/end of yarn so I can pull out as much as needed and the loop gets smaller on the far side of the needle...then I pull on the fa loop to pull out material from the piece-closer-loop to level with end of yarn and start as needed again8 was that understandable enough?)
Your video is the Best! I have been trying instructions I had printed out and other videos, but just couldn't seem to get the beginning steps down. Yours is a great close-up and very easy to follow. Thanks Much !!
if you google pittyom, you might find other videos I posted at "MyVideo" too. I am fascinated by old crafts and when I read about it (while I tried to teach myself to spin) I searched the Internet a lot and found sites and groups about nalbinding. that got me more curious and I started it. obviously you choose the same way - happy needling :))))
thanks for your comment. Exactly that is, why I make those videos: I myself learn better by watching it done than by looking at photographs. drawn pictures are still better than photographs, but after I learned the first stitch by drawings (no thumb method)and then learned other stitches with Bernhard Dankbar's help by watching him doing it, I decided to do the videos. first to help myself remember the stitches, second and now more important to help others that are not getting help by others

We are between Mountain Home and Harrison Arkansas - way out in the hills. I'll have to look up Prairiegrove.

It's always nice to learn new tecniques, and this one I had never tried before.
This video is well made, and even if I couldn't nalbind before, I could learn from it.

This is amazing. Thank you very much. In my view video's the only way to understand this demanding-to-understand technic:-D
