Great pattern! Thank you for sharing your vieuw on tying with us. I love the calm way yoiu do things and the beautiful vieuws you show us at the start and end of your video's. You've got a fan in me!
hi davie great fly , have watched all ur vids and always look forward to ur next post , i have trouble with squirrel tail when tying the stoats tail , wd u post a vid on it if u get time , all the best from ireland .
Have a look at the video I have on tying the Rusty Rat. I tye the hair the same as I would with Squirrel, if you are still having problems get back in touch..
@SPIDER100K Hi I think I could help here, Squirrel is as you have found out, a slick SOB, I find it works best of you tie small bunches in instead of one big clump, varnishing between bunches and tying the thread down on top to force the varnish into the fibres as it stops the whole lot from slipping out, works well for winging flies, as it's quite stiff and has some good movement.... Cheers
another a great fly. Thanks. Davie you had a couple of videos up for flies suitable for lough leane. The jungle bunny bibio hopper and a a wet fly in blue. any chance they will reappear , cos they worked a trat!
great tying davie all your tyings will give me hours of tying over the closed months for the new season will you be reposting the soft hackle dry fly and olive spinner thanks again for all your time and advise that you share with us
hi davie great videos, but been having a bit of trouble with your last 5 or 6 vids they keep on cutting out on me every 10 or 15 secs and have to press start to watch the rest of the vid, is anyone else having probs or is it my isp, god i hope its not my computer,id be lost without your vids to keep me sane, happy wrappings davy.
No problem this side even wireless is o.k but I'm not saying it's always that way my connection speed is crap so that's why I don't upload on HD because of this...
Hi Davie
Really nice pattern!
Could you recommend a substitute for the UV frogs hair dubbing for this fly?
Just starting out tying and i have not got access to that particular material.
Thanks Davie for some brilliant videos.

Hi Matt,
Just use whatever dubbing you have it doesn't make a huge difference to the fly...Glad you like the videos....

Hi Davie
Great looking Fly, do you have to tie it with the egg sack or would it work as well without?

Hi finny025,
You could easily tye the Grannom without the egg sack but I have found that it's worth having a few with it..
