I remember hoggin a keycard machine on Bondi Rd (everyone hates that, i felt bad), i turned around & all 3 of em were there & i said, "Aye, you guys are The Sharp?", and they were stoked, cool blokes!
One of the things I love about YouTube is when I can uncover a fantastic video & song that I never heard before ! This is such a clip and it's fantastic ! Reminds me a bit of Jesus Jones, The Wonder Stuff or early Blur. Good stuff !
Just read yr comment re: The Sharp on youtube. If you like them, may also like another Aussie band from the same time, called Snout. Look up "got sold on heaven"
I rediscovered The Sharp a few years ago when I was looking for stuff to put on my iPod. Became a fan during their farewell tour in 1995. Still amazing!
I remember loving the sharp when I was a 10 yo kid! It tended to stick out from the other music I had access to... Kick ass...good to see I had very good tastes back then... :) Great band
Pity they didn't last long in OZ as their music was a breath of fresh air to the usual mundane crap that our Australian commercial radio stations keep pumping out.
I totally agree. I saw them a couple of times when they were touring and absolutely loved them. They were a breath of fresh air and it's a shame they were only around for such a short time.
My bloody oath, and nothing much has changed. Instead of looking forward they keep playing 'My Sherona' by The Knack. As if this was an Australian Radio Station alltime favorite.
I met this band at the Myer Centre in Brisbane in 1993 and they played this song. They were very nice, fun and wacky guys. You don't get too many bands as good as this now.
Holy cow, how did I miss this? This is awesome. Like Sweet meets Masters of Reality. Great!

I saw them live at the Sandringham Hotel in Perth years ago and they put on a good show.
Does anyone remember what year that might have been?
Gerardus1970 4 years ago
I'd say 1994 - 1995
Rareclipz 4 years ago
@Rareclipz Seeing the Late Show did a parody of them in 92/93, I'd say, err, 1992 to 1993.

Nothing good lasts too long in Oz. People have too much trouble giving credit to 'arty farty' stuff.
