WAIT read this, ok so im still 15 but i'm planning to go to a film college, i want to edit videos or be the camera dude for TV or movies, but after college don't they send me somewhere or do i have to be interviewed for the job? please help im so confused on this stuff
An amazing amount of potential film makers are being defeated by their own cynicism and skepticism, it seems. How can anyone who wants to make films not want to watch all of Dov's vids and take notes of all the great tips and try them out?
god bless this man i bought the seminar and i learned 90% more than 4years of t v production and one intense month of filmmaking it took me 5hrs to finish each one hr lesson i repeated 3 times and now i know about 95% of the entire seminar buy the dvd i think is better you can view the dvd 400 times dov you are the best ialso like to recomend the complete film diccionary
I just discovered this guy last night while browsing through a list of film school sites..... and I'm glad I did! I love his no-nonsense/straight-to-the-point method of teaching! I SO wish to attend his 2-day film school next month! (once I scrape up $395, lol) And the list of well-known filmmakers who studied under this guy are amazing! Spike Lee, Chris Nolan, Robert Rodriguez..... QUENTIN TARANTINO?? WOW! That right there should be enough to convince people that this guy's no phony!
UA media he knows what he is talking about he is not asking people to have a lot of money just $20,000 for your first movie i make $14.00 dollars an hr and i have that money filmmaking is not for everybody but if you really want it you got to make sacrifices
he is a good instructor. these are just teasers. i went to learn from him from one of his seminars. really good. webfilmschool maybe you guys should do an intro on dov. im a producer in malaysia and i've applied knowledge from dov's book. which i think is one of the top books you can get about the industry and how to be good at it.
@catchmechary Since Tarantino (if you don't know get out from that rock), and Chris Nolan used his information you know you are in good hands. I can tell you right now though this is a VERY realistic course for budgeting and jives with anything I've experienced or read. Also, if you stay at the 20k cap for a first film its really hard to kill yourself; if it bombs its not great but you won't be destitute. It's a great way to try things out and not over-commit.
Wanna make a $20,000 film, make a $2,000 film. If you dont have $2,000.....save. If you want to be a film-maker you need to pour yourself into it, rather than just expect the money to come then make your film.
who is this dude to give everyone tips on this? sounds like you dont know shit? people dont just have 20,000 or 200000 for this stuff you make it seem as though only the wealthy can enjoy this outlet and form of art...
Well , im only eleven , and i really try to edit my videos if you take 2 seconds of your time , you might make somones dream come true .

hat's great.
Did you notice the typo at the beginning of chapter 8 ?
How can a guy giving instruction NOT notice such detail?
Is that evident in his work and course?
Check it out...it says: HOT TO BE A DIRECTOR
lol
