Robotnik and Eggman = same person. There's ONE Robotnik that's fought, he's just redesigned a bit.

Originally he was completely round with a little cape, then he became completely fat and had a weird cross suit thing, and now he's got those snazzy boots.

Still the same Eggman. The whole name thing is from Sega screwing up on an international level.

Don't get me wrong, I like the games, comic, show etc, but everything about the Sonic storyline is so screwed up, nothing is canon. Seriously.

If you look at the Robotnik in the art for the old Sonic games (aside from mean bean machine) he looks like a rounder version of the curent eggman with a simpler but similar outfit.

In the games there is one and only one eggman. He used to be called Robotnik until SEGA wanted to have him have the same name everywhere.

Or maybe Sonic mockingly called him Eggman so much the name stuck lol
