Everything came together when Rita made the film Gilda, this song, a story that featured a femme fatale and costume designer Jean Louis designing an iconic dress. The next time you see the film clip of Rita in the Put The Blame On Mame dance number, notice how the upper part of the dress does not move when she puts her arms in the air, this is because it was lined in plastic.
