  • Wait a minute- that's the Volksempfaenger displayed in the museum 'Dokumentation Obersalzberg'. Cool... I was there in 2009! It seemed familiar from the signs. ;) Weiter so!

  • The Volksempfänger was not unable to receive foreign broadcasts. It is technically impossible to stop the reception at a border. There were even ready made parts available to improve the reception of weak stations. The VE301 came on the market in 1933, listening to foreign stations was legal until Septemper 1939.

  • ww2pat,

you, like Joe G., believe in censorship ja?

    let's put to test.

you watch television Ja? you like television Ja!?

    television is America's Volksempfänger.

    let's test effectiveness,

on 9-11-01 , what happened to World Trade Center Seven?

funny thing, Joe G, prided himself on always telling the truth. seems he did not consider omitting certain crucial information as lying.

any German citizen who would be presented with this omitted information would likely be puzzled or angry.

  • OK, that's an interesting comment if I've ever seen one. LOL! About me, no I don't believe in censorship, no I don't like television, and no I know what happened to WTC 7. But, I think an original radio like this is a great piece of history. Have a great day!

  • this is for the antenna

  • Is that an iPod docking connector on the side? :)

    (joke)

  • I have a VE301..and 2 DKE 1938 radios also ..I love em!
