i know how to get in! when in the hornet fly next to the pelican and exit the the hornet straight after hold down RB and you'll end up in the back of the pelican but u might have to retry cause sometimes if ur too slow to press RB you fall down. =)

There was a pelican flying above a ledge where i was. The door was closed but I still could ride in it. You can only just sit in it. IN HALO 3 YOU CAN ONLY RIDE IN A PELICAN NOT DRIVE IT

Of course the only reason this is possible is because of moments where you are sitting inside of a Pelican, such as the beginning of the Covenant, and when you get in the pelican at the end of the level Sierra 117.

This is just the coding used in the game for the Pelicans so you can sit inside the Pelicans when needed for the story.

Its not a glitch, it's just Bungie probably didn't think it necessary to code two seperate Pelicans =/
