I know chinese people who live here in the Netherlands from the age of 10, and even they struggle with dutch accent and pronunciation and certain parts of grammar when talking. My father is from croatia, got degrees at several high ranked universities and speaks russian german english etc etc. He came to the netherlands when he was 22 and still has alot of issues with grasping accent and grammar fully.
