Morrowind let you do so much stuff just like this. You could fly, you could jump across continents, there was next to no limit on the things you could do. In comparison Skyrim feels very... restricted. I hope they add DLC later that allows things such as this. And no, becoming a warewolf is not the same.

@IamJigle A lot of the directions in Morrowind were confusing, but after some time, you sort of caught on to where you needed to go. I got lost many times when I first started, but I guess directional compassing wasn't available/thought of yet. Then again, the immersion factor is greatly supported like this. Directional compassing cuts out a lot of immersion.

Then again, opinion is where the sand and sugar are divided, so this is mostly just my opinion.

Individual pieces of armor... I thought that was incredibly cool and unique, especially when looking for rarer armors later in the game, you could have mixed armor. I don't know of any other game that has done that, but that was awesome. Of course, there are a bunch of other things, such as the notable spear and crossbows. Also, levitation spells and slowfall.

@StainedShuriken333yeah i love mixin' my armour up plus u can train more than one type of armour skill that way also and the weapons in it also ive noticed theres more in morrowind weapon wise and its a harder game to complete they dont baby you like they do in oblivion i mean it forces u to get a walkthrough with some of the quests plus u can soul trap spells and make millions of gold and they buy stuff off you for a better price the only good thing bout oblivion is sean bean! and the lock pick
