  • @NewZersion I use bread or dogfood and I will leave them in the water anywhere from a few hours to a couple days. Just depends on how much bail I need.

  • What bait did u use as bait on how ling do u let it sit in the water??

  • looks like a bow tie, pretty cool

  • So you use dead bait fish

  • Yah salmon are real fun to catch and they get huge 50+ pounds. You need a big rod for them. I fish for them in freshwater . BC is a great place to fish for them. Although we fish for salmon , some certain lakes have bass .

  • Yes since we fish for mostly salmon and trout in the freshwater of british columbia .

We mostly use small lures or flies. And for bait we use worms, shrimp, salmon roe(eggs),and other small insects.

  • @salmonslayermatt Oh, I gotcha! Fishing for salmon and trout would be so awesome. I live NO WHERE NEAR any place that I could catch salmon....well, except for walmart! = )

  • I want one but in canada there isnt a tecnique which involves uses baitfish

  • @salmonslayermatt Sorry, I dont follow you. You're saying that you dont use baitfish for bait in Canada?

  • Thats a good trap

  • @salmonslayermatt thanks man, and thanks for checking out my video!

  • @salmonslayermatt Thanks man! We make a lot of different traps, but this is definitely one of my favorites!

  • what do you use them as bait for

  • @TheFishingCentral we use these traps to catch small sunfish and use the sunfish for bait on trotlines....catching catfish!

  • nice

  • what keeps the fish from coming back out by the opening they come in?

  • @rocrfella The fish typically wont come back out unless you pick the trap up (just to see whats inside) and lower it back into the water. Even then, only a few will make their way out - they're not that smart!!! = ) If you interested in looking at my other traps please check me out at:

  • I would call that trap a "figure eight trap" because it looks like an 8

  • what did you use as bait

  • @4anight13

in this trap we used dry dog food. However, you can use spray in foam, or regular styrofoam just the same. All work great.
