In fact if you know about how Jamaicans can refer to different ideas in the same line, he is using a double entendre to refer, yes the song obstensibly can be taken as a higher spiritual calling, but at the same time it is unquestionably laced with sexual overtones. "put it on" is a common Jamaican slang to suggest sexual prowess, hence, 'good Lord help you" and 'I'm not boasting" in the same line. Peace.
