  • "according to a recent study of "the Iraq effect" by terrorism specialists Peter Bergen and Paul Cruickshank, using government and Rand Corporation data, the Iraq invasion has already led to a seven-fold increase in terror" Thanks a lot neocons, well done.

  • What Chomsky means in his terror definition is very simple: When we bomb an Afghan wedding and kill 200 innocent civilians that is not an act of terror, however if they were to do the same then it would be.

  • White House Terrorists - love it Noam! First truth I heard in a long time!

  • i love it! terror was never a priority he says. the sad irony is that this was used as a pretext for the war in the first place.

  • You don't need those commas, douchebag.

  • Just so everyone knows the terrorists caught in Canada, had very specific plans to overrun the Canadian Parliament, and behead the PrimeMinister. (probably came out a day or two later).

  • My recommendation for human society, listen to as much of Noam Chomsky as physically possible.

  • that man has taught me most of the useful stuff I know about the world to be honest.

  • He just says what his point is because he knows it is true. He doesn't try to hide or mask his point like other people do... who probably aren't sure, or KNOW they are not telling the truth.

  • Honestly there shouldn't be one political debate that isn't mediated by Chomsky...

This includes his analysis and fact checking of politicians answers...

  • I wish the people who mindlessly swallow the propaganda that the Republicans keep us save (like they kept us safe from 9/11) would watch this and learn.

  • also, before i get to typing, does anyone know if a transcript of this is available?

  • great video. i'm looking for help for a pamphlet i'm making. i'm looking for two examples i can use of major crimes that were not brought to light by our media, one contemporary and one from recent history. for the latter, i was thinking the support for the national guard in el salvador in the 80s under carter and then reagan. but since i'm in canada, i'm trying to find out if canada played any role in this.anyone have any leads? thanks.

  • Have you people ever noticed that Chomsky doesn't speak. No he doesn't. He teaches.

  • One of the funny things I find in the way people respond to Chomsky, is the fact that people will imply that he has a biased opinion, even when he has simply stated facts.

So Chomsky might make a statement, with no intpretation whatsoever, simply a statement of documented fact and the response will be outrage.

This is simply because he discusses the things that are generally avoided within mainstream (hegemonic) discourse, so it really takes people by surprise.

  • very well said

that shows how much indoctrinated we are

  • Awesome -- is there a part 10?

  • Yes there is, but I've been busy attending a conference. Will post them soon. Thanks.

  • Cool, look forward to it

  • Good on you for providing a repository of Chomsky material...keep it up.
