  • natural hair = weak man repellent

  • I know that you could look prettier but the over the top busy look is reminiscent of drag queens. You should consider a more subdued look.

  • ARE YOU OK , YOUR LIP DIDN'T HEAL , DID YOU GET YOUR LIP BUSTED ?

  • Who's trying to cater to that dudes taste anyway?

  • LMAOOO @ dirty tennis ball

  • no one care what that monkey looking nigga thinks. i can always perm in my hair BUT u cant fix ugly lol thats why i only date white guys they LOVE my natural hair. i guess opposites attract. maybe ur bro should see white women

  • I retract what i said about the sister she seems to be very intelligent I hope she doesn't read my last statement, and forgive me for not looking at the video in its entirety. DaQuasiaB I apologize to you my sister.

  • Simply they(the brother and sister in this video) have become the very product I speak of, and they are proud of that short sighted-ness. The good news about all of this is that the compounded ignorance that comes with this kind of mindset can be isolated. We for one aren't a monolithic people, but for those of us who are serious about our African linage, I mean really serious, need to continue what our ancestor bled and died for. Not on this ignorant mess, I say again let dead dogs lie.

  • Serious AA must continue a QUEST of defining our selves in a morally, positive and aesthtic way they we choose as a cohesive group. "NEGRO'S" and yes I said it are like this young man who has been conditioned from early development to think this way, now I give him credit fro his honesty of his programming, his sister on the other hand made this into something to entertain the masses, i don't see the serious discourse here. Simply they have become the very product I speak of cont..

  • In the case of African Americans who've experienced miscegenation coupled with social engineering this is nothing new. Now what Im going to say from here I hope cuts like a knife There are people in this world who don't mind demeaning themselves so as to justify their allegiance to the people who socially engineered their mind set, this is what you call a SLAVE. It is a documented fact. Serious AA must continue a QUEST of defining our selves in a morally, positive, and aesthetic way. cont

  • @aGwEENapple about "black" men complaining how hard it is to manage their hair, that people really think our hair is different, IDK, someone get back to me about this theory, because even alot of"black" men feel the same way too.

  • @ aGwEENapple Thank you sooooooooo much, I don't know why people don't seem to realize this. Is "Black"men and women different from each other, how come every other nation men and women are the same. I once had to check my friend who is "hispanic" but dates "black" men, because she told me that "black" men's hair is different from "black" womens hair. WHAT , people acually believe that. But at the same time maybe we hear sooo much about "black" women getting weaves and not really anything

  • @TheElizabeth125 Sorry, I didn't see that you replied to me!

That's funny, but I guess it's somewhat understandable why your "Hispanic" friend thought black women's and men's hair is different.

Most black men that I see, no matter their nationality, wear short hair. How can you see the difference in their hair so well if you could barely see theirs? LOL

Black hair, when it gets to certain lengths becomes high maintenance. A lot of ppl of other races don't see that. (cont'd)

  • @TheElizabeth125 (cont'd 2) They're not the ones that have our hair, so they don't know how difficult it could be to manage at times. How much time it might take to treat it.

Black men with low maintenance hair cuts like ceasars, fades, whatever don't have to do much but brush. Maybe put a little product on it from time to time, but not too much. How could you compare the care for short hair to longer hair?

These people really have NO idea! LOL

Taking out time for my hair is worth it though. =)

  • false consensus effect.

  • I thought the girl at 3:21 looked gooood!

  • That hair... ok...

  • yuck! this guy puts a terrible taste in my mouth....not a good example of my beautiful respectful black men

  • When his hair grows out, it'll look like the same dirty tennis ball. LMAO.

  • Can't go bald by putting olive oil I your head, but sulfur will KILL YOU lol

  • Youngsters have been brainwashed by the mainstream media. I was like that when I wan young, but now I realize that crap will f u up and you will end up bald.

  • "Brainwashed"? Give me a break. He simply has a preference that YOU DON'T LIKE. If he said something you liked, you wouldn't be calling him brainwashed.

  • I need to see more videos like this. It saddens me to see people give such a negative reaction to natural hair, but I love it.

  • considering the fact this ignorant fool isn't attractive AT ALL, he shouldn't have anything negative to say about ANYONE-natural or not!

  • @SDSUTT01 you're only saying he's not attractive because what he said offended you. instead of responding with a insult, why don't you respond with logical debate. you should understand that this video is on behalf of men and take it from a broader approach instead of thinking you're going to prove a point with insults.

  • Ignorance is a disease!!!!

  • Let me rephrase that. Those of us who see will not go blind. Yes perhaps some will never gain sight. But it won't hurt us one bit. These awakening is by the grace of The All Mighty. Our time is here so those of us who embrace the grace. We give thanks and become what we were intended to be. So don't be disheartened. As for your brother, as a verse in a rasta song goes "put on your crown and come around." I love you both... Bless

  • Sister you're wrong. Soon ther won't be any of those with your brothers mind set. We are awake, we won't go backward, just forward. It's not about age. It's mind set. Don't be disheartened.Bless

  • You're brother is a idiot.

  • her brother is just IGNORANT!

  • He'll kill his own black mama if the Almighty White Man told him to. But then again, that's just how black men are I suppose. Thankfully, I get off on pissing off people because of my natural hair. I wonder how this guy feels about black men rocking afros, braids, locks, etc... Oh yeah... since they're MEN it's okay.

Not only is he a self-hating uncle Tom, but he's also sexist!

  • douche

  • 1. This is an OPINION not fact so your title clearly should be redone 2. this is only his opinion, not every mans thoughts 3. People that have been wearing and maintaining natural hair have grown there hair down their backs (do some research) just saying

I honestly think its absurd and ignorant that our race is so caught up on these little irrelevant things that have nothing to do with anything. i.e "lightskin vs. dark skin" "I want a babydaddy/momma with good hair" "weaves vs. natural" etc smh

  • @TeenNatural okay 1. the title is to attract attention to the video, & it worked so it clearly WONT be redone. &&&& i know how long natural hair can get. i never once said in this video that natural hair cant grow. so before you tell me to do research, make sure you know what you are watching.

  • @TeenNatural & it maybe "absurd" or "ignorant" that we as a people are hung up on this like being lightskin or darkskin and our hair texture. but this is an issue we have been faced with since we were brought over to this country. when lightskin soft hair blacks were "worth" more and treated better than darkskin course hair blacks. & OUR OWN PEOPLE judge us this way TO THIS DAY, so it is hardly irrelevant. maybe you my dear are the one who needs to do some research.

  • Disgustingly sad

  • I hate the look of most natural hair styles.

  • Your Brother He is not a typical Black male. That brother dont speak for us ! Most brothers I know love natural hair ! Your cant base black males on him ! Please ! This is FAKE!

  • Black women with natural hair are beautiful.

  • i don,t know most guys love my curly hair lol!

  • ASSHOLE

  • your not a guy, or are you!?!?!

  • LOL ur brother sounds like my crazy brother. My mom and I both are natural and he do not like it at all. He always laughing at my fro. But it don't bother me or my mom what he says we love what God has given us. It really comes from within u natural or permed you got to love you no matter what anyone else thinks about you. We where made in the image of God and what he created was all good!!

  • i dont like your brothers comment, its not funny at all. we should love what God has given us

  • Hmm I guess his hair looks like a dirty tennis ball when he doesn't shave it to the scalp!

  • u are so right hunny. i be feelin the same wa and ya bro was rude to talk about your hair like tat because he has the same genes and thats self hatred smh

  • This so did not discourage me...that's why I find myself dating older, more mature men. Any guy that is lusting after Beyonce, I don't want, because she can barely form an intelligent sentence, but some guys don't even care, it's about appearances for them. It's the media bombarding them with images. There are so many videos on youtube talking about men's opinions of natural hair....i really could care less because I find it beautiful and easier to manage..so either you like it or you don't...

  • Props DaquasiaB!!! Thank you for speaking the truth!!! Most beauty depicted by the media is false, and sadly it successfully fools both men and women. As a result, you have ignorance towards what "real" beauty is. Not only do you have ignorance though, you have people performing self-mutilating acts on themselves, such as a Black female trying to bleach her skin to be lighter, or not having the confidence to wear her own hair because of the damaging effects of society. True beauty is within.

  • just because he was rude and had negative point a view doesn't mean he was the "realest"

  • and he was the finest hunk of man with dreds i have ever seen. the gist is it's on your head and your body. why do we listen to others, especially when they don't share in the expense of maintaining whatever look you choose? so, as a natural black woman myself i agree with you 100%. If one doesn't like it, another one will and if no one does than so what?

  • Comment removed

  • your bro is RUDE! Natural hair isn't "gross" just because he doesn't find it attractive. But if he prefers long/straight/curly/soft hair, then that's his preference. people are attracted to..well...whatever attracts them. He may be a stereotypical black man, but he certainly doesn't represent ALL black men. As a woman with natural hair, I expect some people to find my hair unattractive. That's just how it is... I have preferences too. I don't like short men.

  • so is he saying his head looks like a dirty tennis ball. is that why he cut his hair? lame as dude

  • hahaha soo not lame. a dirty ass tennis ball is what it looks like it's gross most of the time. Hahaha dirty ass tennis ball that dudes funny.

  • lame!!!!!!!!!1

  • he's ugly. so his opinion is irrelevant

  • He seems a little...off (and ya'll know what I mean). His opinion is WORTHLESS!

  • please teach your brother about his heritage. My heart cries for him. would he say the same thing to your mother the one whoe birthed him into this world ?As one from the black race, I am so embarrassed by his attitude but I'll charge it to lack of knowledge and a very low amount if any of self acceptance and and love for himself and his culture.

  • I love your encouraging video. Reminds me of Mary J. Blige's song "Work That".

"Just because the length of your hair ain't long

And they often criticize you for your skin tone

    Wanna hold your head high

    Cause you're a pretty woman

    Get your runway stride home

    And keep going

    Girl live ya life "

  • love ur words of encouragement at the end of the video

  • Well would u wan't a guy that are only into superficial barbiedolls?

  • u look like a guy

  • @pabritova get a life.

  • @pabritova get a life.

  • @pabritova lol...wow

  • @pabritova GOD Damn you NOWWWWWWWW

  • @pabritova A sexy guy!

  • Bob Marley couldn't say it any better....."Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery....none but ourselves can free our minds!"

  • PREACH!!

  • I see it like this, if you don't like my hair, that's YOUR problem.

Black men can walk around with their natural hair, a lot wearing low cuts anyways and be regarded as "handsome", "sexy", "hot" but a black woman wearing her natural hair wouldn't always be seen as the same.

I'd rather have my hair in the texture I was born with.

A man who regards even most women who wear his own hair texture as UGLY is not worth my time.

He is insecure and not proud of where he comes from.

  • @aGwEENapple You can have your hair natural but it can be flat ironed. You don't have to have chemicals or a weave. Just blow dry and flat iron it. True, men and women can't have the same grooming practices and be considered hot. We are different physically and have different grooming standards to be attractive. Women need to look clean, tamed, neat, and classy. That's always attractive to most men. All this weird afro medusa twistouts are not hot, ladies.

  • @MsLotusBlooms Routine flat ironing and blow drying change the natural hair texture over time. Not every woman wants to use heat. There are ways to make our hair look decent without having to straighten it and use heat. I think it's ridiculous that black people can not accept their hair the way it grows out of our scalps. Of course you can't neglect it by not combing and moisturizing it but most black women's natural hair can look great and "neat" with patience.

  • He is being Honest and speaking for a lot of black men. A lot of them will sugar coat the answer.

  • lol strange, i am trying to force my little sisters to go natural and im 18 lol

  • @NaturallyCurly1990 thanks hun!

  • Wow, his thoughts about his own hair type is disgusting. A dirty tennis ball? Thats not funny at all.

  • @BoredRandomCraptv You can have the same texture but wear it in a smoother more refined style. Even black men usually look neat and well-groomed. Ladies, you know what classy women are supposed to look like. If you don't know, look at a typical news anchor woman for guidance. They are all classy and beautiful.

  • @NaturallyCurly1990 please tell me the name of this Youtube-er. I want to see the video. Thanks.

  • Hahahahahahaha thata Rob for ya lol smh that nigga

  • hes only 22??..im sorry but dude like he about 35 O_o

  • Im 18 years old and I just went natural, (transitioning). Quite frankly I appreciate her brother being real but ladies, if you wanna go natural you shouldn't be too worried about what men or anyone else will think. Do it for YOU. If YOU look at your short or long natural hair and feel beautiful, that's all that matters. My friend told me to watch this b/c she thought it would piss me off, but Im not. This clearly isn't the type of guy for a woman with the confidence to be natural.

  • @ReesieDenise YOU are wise, and it makes me happy to see an 18 yr. old with this point-of-view, and so accepting of themselves, some women/men NEVER get there! How awesome! =)

  • @sparks199 Thanks so much! :) I actually just did the Big Chop yesterday so I'm completely natural and happy about it. :)

  • @ReesieDenise, WELL SAID! If a woman is mature enough to accept and love herself as God made her, then she should be looking for a man who is on the same level. This guys attitude and comments are moronic. I would hate to be trapped in a conversation with him for more than five minutes. Oh, and one more thing, BOO---You ain't all that to be cracking on a natural sista. I doubt he could handle a woman who is mature and sure enough of herself to BE HERSELF.

  • Plainly put, he's an ass! I have a lot of BEAUTIFUL short haired women in my family! Let's see him try to step to someone like Lauren London so we can laugh like he did at your hair!

  • say what you will, he told the truth as he saw it

  • @Igihozo and we are responding as we see it.

  • I notice that ugly or unattractive guys tend to be a bit more critical of natural hair and black women in general.

  • Just my honest opinion.. Most men like long hair... some appreciate natural textures... most love length... So like I stated earlier.... Know what you are getting into and understand that you will have to go through a mental transition as well as your physical transition with your hair...

  • As harsh as it may seem he was telling the truth believe it or not I'm natural. Its not so much the texture but the length black men have a problem with. He WASN'T being a jerk .. its just that for the most part this is the way it is... That being said.. when thinking of going natural know what you are getting into.. thats why I suggest transitioning for at least 2 years if you are worried about how you are going to be perceived...

  • @dontcopyme will have to agree with you that I think it is more of a length thing than a texture thing.

  • I know that's your brother, but oh dude is a complete ass-jerk. Thanks for uploading though; it was refreshing in a weird way! :)

  • @zeanian He's just being honest. Fros are not attractive nor feminine. Sorry ladies...time to break out the flat iron please.

  • I love ur style gurl!

  • damn... ya know this is really sad because its so true that this is how men feel about our hair, when theirs looks exactly the same when they go 2 weeks without a haircut and they look the same. regardless, i can't for the life of me understand why being natural is: 1. a big deal 2. some type of statement or 3. unaccepted in todays society. if you haven't already then watch good hair, it pissed me off. not just aspects of natural hair but with the weave as well

  • @sunnyashers :D I'm so glad you said that! Our Brothers seem to fail to realize that until we point it out- and there is no need for a BC I just stopped chemically treating it, kept it clean and moisturized (just like men do) and let it grow for the past 11 yrs, I now have a 14" afro not straightened - if we keep our ends trimmed, scalp clean and moist conditioned well with a good protein conditioner- it will grow w/o all the rocket science behind it :D

  • I think the thing is that most men like LONG hair in the first place, so the question is not so much about relaxed or natural, but rather about long or short..

  • i had a someone tell me the exact same thing... a dirty tennis ball i thought it was hilarious... but honestly i attracted way more guys with natural hair!!!!

  • girl you looked ferocious in that pic werk! <3

  • That is so sad

  • And your brother's in the Navy...huh? Betta not come to my command talkin' bout" dirty tennis ball" this natural sista will have have him as straight as the hair he worships! LOL

  • Hi DaQuasiaB! Wow, I'm shocked at most of the responses about ur brother! It's common knowledge that most, not all, young black men do not care for short natural hair, they want it long or straight. Thanks for posting because, in my opinion, his point of view is what the majority thinks/feels.

  • What wig was that in the beginning..ps ur brothers a house nigga lol j/k (for real tho)

  • Your brother has his opinion but....he is a bit ignorant. You may find it funny, but he should have some level of embarrassment that he is showing how narrow and immature he is. Here's to his growing up so he won't embarrass himself much longer.......Happy growing brother..... Applying your own principles to yourself (brother), you yourself need a perm, or long hair. If this is the future of black young men, be VERY AFRAID...... glad I am married already....

  • You need to change the video to what your fucking brother things about natural hair. I don't care as long as it looks NICE! What did you use to determine your brother is the average black man. I hate black bitches that constantly stereotype every last one of us.

  • Thank you for this video. My boyfriend is the same way. He doesn't want to see my coily/kinky natural hair. He'd rather see me with weave (curly or straight) and microbraids. Smh.

  • Well he said it. He just does not like short hair!!! He thinks its gross. Oh boy!

  • Amazing how centuries of being taught that only one look is beautiful (long, straight hair) that black men are now ignorant and brainwashed. Glad I'm with a real black man and not some weak minded man who would refer to a woman with short natural hair as a "dirty tennis ball" The self-hate is strong with him and he's not even attractive. Doubt women are lining up to get at him. My natural hair is past my shoulders when wet and when straight it's half way down my back.

  • @prutyladyd07 I second that emotion. He makes me appreciate my husband that much more. People do have their preferences, yes, but him referring to her natural, God given hair as a dirty tennis ball just shows how ignorant he is. I have "4b" natural hair past my shoulders when wet or twisted and my husband loves it. This guy does not speak for all black men. ....and if you ask me..........he sounds like he has a slight retardation.

  • @prutyladyd07 Honestly it's been my experience that most college educated black men don't think natural hair is ugly. I'm sorry, I consider not going to college below average, because it's considered below average for white society. This man looks like he's under-educated, to be polite about the term. I'm sorry, but I can't take anyone who holds their mouth open when they aren't talking or eating very seriously.

  • hahaha your brother reminds me of my brothers

  • Thank u sooo much for this vid! Your brother is funny and kinda reminds me of 1 of my big brothers.

  • u should never ax ya bra. i like natural hair but i love downin my 2 sisters. im the only boy and i even when i know they were pretty. it just how sisters and brothers jokes. i think more bm like natural hair than women think.

  • typical shallow black man well aleast he was honest and told the truth about what he thought

  • A dirty tennis ball? LOL!!!!!

  • @diamondofdistinction. i though it was funny. u cant take yo borther say as seriuos. trust me as a bm when my 2 sisters ax me how they look they now ima clown on them. it just how brothers and sisters are. even when i know they look good, i gotta down them so they dont get the big head. but they know i be playin & then start laughin. everybody know yo fam clown u harder than anybody else. thats why we fam. i think if the chick wasnt his sister he woulda said she look good.

  • @brightsgirl i got those boots from Wet Seal. GoJane.com have some pretty nice boots at a reasonable price. well they did in the fall && winter months.

  • @DaQuasiaB Your brotha is a "House Nigga"!!!

  • haha yea my brother is pretty funny.. he calls me dirty taco meat everyday. asshole. && im not saying he is wrong at all. im jus saying most black guys his age dont like natural hair, or would rather a girl have long straight hair. && that alot of young women are afriad to wear natural hair or only want the long straight looks because thats what guys our age like. because that is what they are used to seeing as "beautiful"

  • @DaQuasiaB THERE IS NOTHING<<<<<FUNNY about the bold disrespect he has towards you and other black women!!!! with his black ass???? if he grew his hair how do he think his hair will look like? I hate black men like this, being natural isn't funny this is our God given right....i'm disgusted!

  • in your natural hair picture, the boots you had on, i'd like to know where u got them or where u can find some similar ones plz and thank u and thx for a real young guys opinion on natural hair

  • Comment removed

  • this is america he is free to have his opinion, even if people disagree with him.

  • Hahaha I'm sorry. Ur bro is funny. LOL.It's mean and Im transitioning but hey...lol

That's how black men think. Hahaahah It's only white guys who usually like the natural. When I have some long hair or some bright color it's the black people flocking

  • Well its only one guys' opinion. There are other guys who see the beauty of natural hair and respect you for having it :)

  • yess they r brain washed. even young girls who have 3c hair think they need perms nd they dnt... i try to tell them but they r blinded by ignorance... but they'll learn

  • He has a creepy laugh.lol

...his opinion is very typical but i appreciate his honesty (even thought it made him look like a total jerk)

    Amen to your finishing statement!

  • Men who think like this are very limited. Women need to know that they don't need a man to validate them as a person. Have confidence in who you are, and your beauty will shine. :)

  • @sahdae23. its her borother. if she wasnt his sister trust me he wouldnt have said it. he was clowning her. i clown my sisters all the time just b/c she's my sister but for some reason i can see the same chick w/ da same thing on & think she fine. it like i naturally clown my sis cus i love her. even when i know she look good ima find somn to clown her on if i didnt i wouldnt be her bra. trust me if she wont his sister it would have went a lil diff. that how we r. bra look 2 joke on dey sis

  • I'm glad your brother was honest because it shows how limited he, and other men like him, are in their thinking. The flip side of it is that alot of women probably feel the same way. For me, going natural is about learning how to better care for my hair. If men and women start to see that our hair can be beautiful and manageable, I'm sure their opinion of natural hair will change. People are just scared of what they don't know.

  • @MagnificentReign

Scared of what they don't know? We don't know our own hair? How sad. People are just so stupid that they have allowed other people to shape their views that's all.

  • @BigBlaqueKat - Yeah we don't know the potential that our own hair has. If someone had asked me 2 years ago to stop getting perms, I would've laughed in their face and told the story to 20 other people lol. The only thing I could think of was a "fight the power" fro. And that is a damn shame. My aunt gave me my first perm when I was 6 to make my hair more "manageable" and 19 years later and relaxer-free, I'm managing just fine.

  • @bbnne1 true! i just made that comment b/c the original commenter made it seem as though locs aren't a natural hairstyle. enjoy your fro(if you have one) and i'll enjoy mine!! lol

  • @bbnne1 unless it's free locs, in which case the hair grows out and locs naturally.

  • This is not how most guys in their 20s think!

  • Comment removed

  • Also, your brother does not represent the opinion of all "guys".

  • I find his own hair styling choice quite telling. Does he understand he owns this hair as well (taco meat)? I guess that is why he keeps close to bald. Black men are often in denial about their own hair.

  • im going natural and im 18...i really appreciate this vid bc sometimes it so hard not to care about what people think.

  • You are so right...im scared to continue my natural journey because of reactions such as ur bro's. But im still going to do it for ME not anyone else.

  • Oh this is soooo true! Light skin, long weave, etc. Natural is surely so beautiful! Thank you so much girl! Keep it up!

  • Yep your brother feels the way "most" black me feel. That is sad. Seems like non-black people like our natura hair more the we do

I like your message in the video.

  • We are so "Europeanized" we think that what God gave us is ugly. It does take courage to wear natural hair. I love my natural hair, but I would love it more, If I could get it to look and act like I want it to. I live in St.Louis & I am starting to see more sisters wear'n natural hair. What I am tired of seeing is guys w/ braids seems like every since T-pain or smbdy came out, evrbody is rocking these braids, & these guys are using weave. Its time that brothers go back to being "natural"

  • you mean they are wearing locs? locs are about as natural as they come in my opinion. that's what our hair does if we don't comb or detangle it, it locs.

  • @trumusicgen I live in Saint Louis too and it seems like the natural revolution is going on but very gradually. I am just sick of brothas wearing locs trying to be lil wayne and not understanding what they really represent.

  • I agree with your video. I like the fact that you got your brother's opinion because i think its really honest. i think a lot of guys especially in my age group would agree with him. I'm 22 so i relate to it being sometimes discouraging. i just know that I love myself and my natural hair because its mine. Why should i strip my hair down to try and conform to some standard of beauty that doesn't capture true natural black beauty? We just gotta rock it with confidence.

  • @MsCamilleB I live in Saint Louis too and it seems like the natural revolution is going on but very gradually. I am just sick of brothas wearing locs trying to be lil wayne and not understanding what they really represent.

  • I love your message in this video. Don't be discouraged. It takes courage to be natural, but it's sooo worth it. Be Yourself and be unique.
