lol i just did this on the same machine with windows 7 and got 33sec lol so osx makes it boot Slower and that includes the time for me to login as i have a password. and 3.0 sec to load chrome.

@theman7431 first, i do not have a netbook xDDD, i have an dell d620, and I do not know how to do it T.T, the only thing i know is that you have to download the modified version of OS X for amd and intel PCs, and you have to know and select the correct kernel in the install of OS X, trust me, this is only the beggining...

I'm a little disappointed with the intel Atom processor.... At 1.6GHz, it's about as fast as a Pentium3, 800MHz, .... making it ideal for browsing the internet, but can barely play youtube videos! Btw, next time, start the counter from the boot selection screen.... no need to time the POST screen since we're mainly interested in OS boot up times.

you should decompress the iso or burn it onto a dvd, after that go into the bios and say boot from dvd drive... that should do it^^

I just purchased this exact laptop on ebay yesterday for $100! Is there a link to do this hackintosh thing? I already downloaded kalyway, and I saved it to my ipod, so I can install in my acer aspire one. actually, multigesture works on most trackpads, you just need firmware/drivers to enable it. There are alot of netbooks out there with multigesturing now, and Aspireone is one of them

btw update for any of you wanting to do this a new packaged iso is out with all the kext and everything needed for a no configuration "out of the box" install. No need to update bios or anything. xXx 10.5.5 w/ PPF1&2 ......google is your friend.

why did you wait ten seconds before starting the timer? you pressed the power button, waited a full ten seconds, then started the timer.

because the bios start up time can vary based on your configuration. there was a longer delay because i have the bios check for another bootable usb cd-rom / flash / hdd on startup. this video was made to show the speed of osx, not the bios. if you're being picky, also note that i did not take into account the os selector, which can be turned off and would shave roughly 5-10 seconds off any way.

the wifi card uses a standard mini-pci connector and the hdd is sata. there are videos online that show how to take the netbook apart. the aoa150 aspire one only recognizes 1.5gb of ram (i think) so there wasn't a need to put in a 2gb stick.

Currently Acer only sells the Aspire One with 1GB of ram (1 512mb onboard and 1 512mb in the slot).

OSX can run with the default 1GB but if you're going to open the netbook up any way to replace the wifi card, you might as well upgrade the ram too.
