i have one..awesome pedal in this universe..it can produce from 70s & 80s plexi drive sound.agree to say dis is Mesa MarkII C..the cosmetic can answer for that..Mi Audio tubezone \m/
hey dude, i have this pedal too, and if i have the gain on mine a bit over half way, and i have the amp up at around a gigging volume, i get bad feedback. do you have the same problem?
thanks for the demo, how did you do the metal sound? i really find it hard to get that sound with this unit hehehe. and i cant really see the knobs because of the reflection. thanks hope you can help me.
what the sound at 1:43? The knobs go (from left to right, top row first, followed by second row):
Full
Full
3'o clock
1 o'clock
9'o clock
Even if these aren't exactly right, surely if you play around with the pedal you'll be able to get a similar tone. Remember, a lot of it has to do with the output of the pickups, your playing style and then the amp itself (less so the amp in this occasion, mind)
i really like this demo.. mine comes tomorrow. Im hoping at will mean i dont have to rely on my marshall AVT150X for the overdrive as im really getting sick of it. That way i wont have to lug my amp everywhere to practices when i could use the amps in the practice studios.
Well, i see ALOT of equipment behind you; but if you're keeping the rest of your chain (more or less) constant, then this is indeed an excellent "Tube Zone" demo. I own a Blue Boy Deluxe, which has an identical dial complement, but apparently, the "Tube Zone" has an expanded gain staging circuit, which would make this box even MORE flexible than the BBD. At any rate, good demo! (Even if you DID black-out that last setting!!) Rgds.
triggerjay, would you recommend the tubezone for metal? i have a metal muff and im looking to get a tubezone. the top boost of the muff has no use to me.
my favorite (not the best but awesome) is a fulltone ocd which is a really sweet overdrive santana big core strings are awesome picks are just trial and error and when it comes to pickups the best magnets are alnico 2 which have alot more sustain
no, Clapton is one of the few who has continued to improve from the whole british invasion. what you said is mostly true of the rest. Page, Townsend, Richards, Blackmore. Not Gilmore, he's awesome as ever. Even back then I thought him under rated.
Great demo and great sounding pedal. I've watched several for this pedal and it always ends up sounding good. Just one question:
In this demo, you go from a slightly distorted sound to a much heavier sound, yet it doesn't look like the settings on the pedal change at all. Could you explain? I'm referring to the :30 or so mark to the :41 mark where you go into the heavier sound.
Cheers mate, i actually listened to some of his other stuff after and commented on how they are much more to my liking and show his real skill. You did notice that he said "I do agree on this one, after watching it it seems very lifeless". I wasn't aiming any offense, he didn't take any offense so i don't see why you did.
this is a really cool demo but at 1:43 is that the pedal with the clean channel still or do u have the amp overdrive on too... i really like the variation in that pedal but i wanna check before i buy it lol
Hey mate, just a tip on your guitar playing. You play by numbers - learn the song and play the notes as opposed to bringing in any unique style. You don't appear to add in any flavour - you don't vibrato any notes or anything, just play standard, you don't even vary how hard you hit a note. You do however have good speed and experience it would seem. If you were a bit more creative you could be a lot better.
thanks for the comments, and while I do agree with you, for the most part, all the stuff I have put up here is just free playing, no real songs, so i don't get where you get the learn the song comment and play the notes, and yes i could do more, but in this demo I was playing for about 2 1/2 hours trying to get the sound of the pedal to shine through, not my technique.
In my other vids you will notice more of my technique. But I do agree on this one, after watching it it seems very lifeless.

is it good for stacking with other dirt pedal..i.e fuzz/od?
bigskymind81 2 years ago
heck yeah. I run a tubescreamer in front of it all the time, it tightens up the bass a lot, which i require when playing metal.

can this do marshall and mesa rectifier sounds?
ac5786 3 years ago 2
it could give you a mesa sound with some tweaking
macviviezca 2 years ago
it can make the loose high gain recto tone no problem, just lacks the muddiness of it, but it can be a good thing.

nice tone man

I think it's because of low volume

I have a clip called Tube Zone quickie, and that is as metal as I got it, would not be my #1 choice for an all out metal pedal, but will get you by.
For metal only check out

Boss Metalcore (it's actually not bad)
