I really how the lyrics are mostly in katakana when she speaks and when she gets the kokoro the lyrics slowly start to be written in hiragana, like she became a human in the end. I imagine it that since you use katakana mostly for foreign words that she used to speak like a robot and when she installs the kokoro she starts speaking like a real human.

I didn't cry, until I saw the ending where it says what happens to the robot in the end and it shows her lying down smiling surrounded by flowers. It's strange how a song sung by a Japanese computer program is so much better than a song sung by a professional human pop singer. VOCALOID forever - and keep making me cry! :')

I think that's what's absent from so many songs nowadays - the desire to achieve fame and fortune is there, but the lack of a true respect and admiration for what they are creating is also prevalent. I bet the community driven efforts on the vocaloid songs have a lot of personality because of that, you can feel listening to them they are the precious child of a loving artist (amateur or not).

The scientist's daughter died in a hospital, making him feel very lonely. And since he was, he decided to make the robot to look just like her. Unfortunately, the robot did not have feelings, so he spent the rest of his life trying to make a program. Several hundreds of years later, the robot finds the file and programs it. But the software was corrupted, or as the video said, the kokoro was too much for her. But before she short-cirrcutted, she found the pictures of the scientists daughter.

I didn't really see anything that implied that the program was corrupted or anything like that. Maybe I missed something.

@PunkSkaterChik00 actually, its not corrupted.. as the song implies it was far too big(memory) to be handle by rin... some says that human emotion was far too complex to be coded as is that it will requite more than an infinite amount of computer memory to handle. what Robot Rin did was a complete suicide to the fact she run a program her CPU wont handle. However if the song says that she did contain kokoro, she have alot of memory for it but not the processing power...

I wonder why his body is still there. Maybe his lair was so far away from civilization that noone ever found his body. Anyways, Rin is like a Sis to me and I still don't think she shouldve shorted out/ died. Kokoro is very beautiful and we all should be thankful.

I'm pretty sure the "point" (don't know how to put it) of the song is this:A lonely scientist creates a robot to keep him company. But, this robot lacks one thing..a Kokoro (Heart). Because of this, she doesn't feel emotion. That robot never understood all of the things the scientist had done for her, including him spending his entire life trying to make a heart for her. When she found that out and got that heart,the emotion overwhelmed her and she shorted, but with a smile on her face.<3 this!!
